Solomon City, Ratlan Palace.
"The Azure Longsword... it's been a long time since anyone mentioned that name."
Medea and Sigrdrifa watched the satellite surveillance screen, complex expressions on their faces, as the small dot labeled "The Azure Longsword" swiftly moved eastward from the sea.
"They should have already passed through the Andikythera Strait and entered the Aegean Sea." Nora pointed at the electronic map, speaking coldly.
"Are they going to Constantinople to seek Shira's help?" Eleanor pondered aloud.
"Impossible." Medea shook her head, "Theodora and Peggy are currently attacking Jerusalem... wait, I know!"
Her slender finger drew a curve on the map, from top to bottom:
"...Like this, they'll pass through the East Mediterranean, reach Alexandria Cairo of the Mamluk, then pass through the Suez River, enter the Red Sea, round the Arab Peninsula, and reach the Ilanian Plateau!"
Everyone's expressions turned grim immediately.
If the Mediterranean is still within their influence, then from the Suez River onwards, it's the vast heart of the South Continent, outside the radiation of Christian Civilization.
The heart of the South Continent has no churches, no lords who believe in Christ, and the local tribes' residents are even unaware of the existence of the Divine Luo Empire. It's a region beyond civilization, where all the political power, prestige, diplomacy, and intelligence advantages the girls have fought so hard for over the years would become insignificant.
Their entrance into the Suez River must be absolutely prevented!
"I will deploy a swarm of drones to interfere with them, slowing their advance, but don't get your hopes up," Nora continued, "I've crossed paths with them many times; Miel's timeline manipulation and Mia's space teleportation are too effective against technological products. Only a Demigod Domain can completely intercept them."
"Alright!" Eleanor immediately rose, "Medea, Sigrdrifa, and I will head to the East Mediterranean at once to intercept them!"
"No, Eleanor, your baby needs healing, you cannot participate in the fight." Nora glanced at Medea, "I'll go with them."
This was, of course, expected, for if Eleanor doesn't go and Nora stays behind as well, once Medea and Sigrdrifa single-handedly retrieve Aske, they will inevitably bypass Dacia and return to the Northern Realm directly.
Thus, even if the Holy Daughter is pregnant, she has no choice but to go out with the team forcefully.
"Nora..." Eleanor expressed some concern.
This forced action with a pregnancy, even if Aske is reclaimed, how would you compete with Medea and Sigrdrifa? Heaven forbid Sigrdrifa's axe hits your abdomen…
It's alright. Nora gave her a reassuring look.
...............
Jerusalem.
The Dragon flag has been planted at the top of the Holy City, while numerous troops continue to battle in the city, occasionally hearing the cries of dying pagans, and the muffled grunts of the wounded Iron-armored Holy Cavalry.
A messenger dashed through the battlefield, rushing to the Rock Dome Temple at the top of the Temple Mount, where they found Osman General Nuri Pasha stationed.
Nuri Pasha's face was a bit grim, sharply contrasting with his subordinates' fervor.
In fact, as the war developed to this point, it was already clear to the discerning that the pagans could not hold the Mediterranean; retreating to Baghdad to arrange a second line of defense was the correct strategy.
The Suleiman Emperor did indeed do so; he even withdrew the majority of the Transcendent troops stationed in Jerusalem, instead placing a large number of religious slave soldiers here, clearly intending to use their flesh to delay the Storm Empress's advance.
As the general tasked with executing the delaying order, Nuri Pasha also knew reinforcements would not come, but he had no choice but to pretend in front of his subordinates. To be convincing, he specifically arranged for the Personal Guard Captain to run out of the city as a messenger to request aid, then "received support information" and returned.
"General! Your Majesty has issued orders, the latest reinforcements are departing from Amman, expected to arrive in Jerusalem by noon tomorrow..." The companion shouted immediately upon bursting into the hall.
"Well done!" The generals in the hall collectively perked up, and Nuri Pasha stood up from the command table, feigning excitement as he waved his fist, but inwardly, he was quite dissatisfied.
Because the instructions he gave the messenger beforehand were that His Majesty's support "comes from Damascus, and would arrive within seven days," now this messenger took it upon himself to change it to "tomorrow noon", and if by then the support hasn't arrived, the morale in the city will inevitably plummet.
However, under the gaze of so many, it's impossible to accuse the other of "lying", thus he could only say with a smile:
"Everyone! Next..."
Before he could finish, the messenger had already reached him, dropping a hand knife coated in black light!
Nuri Pasha, a Level 17 Transcendent General, instinctively tried to use his ability to resist, but the opponent's hand knife pierced through his defense directly, stabbing into his chest cavity.
His life force drained at an alarming speed, and his body had not yet fallen backward when his heart had already stopped beating.
The surrounding generals hurriedly drew their swords, but the disguised messenger only sneered contemptuously, swinging the longsword again, instantly splitting into dozens of clones, transforming into a sea of blood that inundated the entire hall.
The generals struggled futilely in the sea of blood, deploying various abilities to save themselves, ultimately being entirely dissolved by the surrounding foul blood.
The messenger emerged from the blood-tinged hall, face and figure writhing, reverting to the charming appearance of the Blood Clan girl, looking identical to Peggy from six years ago.
"Peggy." Theodora descended from the air, her figure now much taller than six years ago, and her body more maturely developed.
The current Empress wore knee-high palace boots, a beautifully ornate robe, a small crystal crown, holding the imperial golden orb cross. Black hair cascaded to her waist like a waterfall, complementing an attractive figure and stunning face, now bearing the poise of the world's most beautiful woman.
Yet instead, the mass slaughter of pagans initiated over the years across Asia Minor demonstrated the Empress was not a fragile, exquisite vase. When she frowned in silence, no matter how rebellious the subjects were, they'd immediately tremble in fear, only the Crimson General could speak with composure before her.
Of course, compared to the Storm Empress, the capricious Crimson General was indeed more troublesome, but that's for another time.
"It's settled." Peggy confidently raised her chin, "The Holy City is ours."
"That's not the issue now," Theodora said seriously, "he's back."
"Nora told us, Miel and Mia have taken him, they're currently near the Aegean Sea, heading toward the Suez River."
"Him?" Peggy was momentarily stunned.
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, her entire body seemed to boil with excitement, transforming into bats without a word, soaring upward.
"I knew she'd be like this..." Theodora, troubled, pressed her eyebrow, having anticipated Peggy's sudden battlefield departure.
Let's first tidy up the loose ends in Jerusalem.
