[Sig – 13 years] → begins during Chapter 125
"Hey, everybody!" I greet my viewers when the stream begins.
It's so cool that we can set it up so that the stream actually begins at a certain time, but our viewers receive a notice that we're live a few minutes earlier so that they can show up for it if they want to watch from the start. The fact that preroll ads are during that waiting period makes it even better as it means they won't miss the stream. All during-stream ads are side-loaded, bottom-loaded, or over the top of chat (but not all of it). I've watched a few streams with them on, and they really aren't intrusive.
Which makes it infinitely better. I did giggle a little when I saw someone complain that their adblocker didn't work, but what they did expect? Adrian King himself participated in its creation, there's no way he'd not be able to make his site just completely ignore adblockers.
And complaining about supporting a streamer with unintrusive ads is just stupid. They can still see everything in the stream and they can still read chat. Those ads also don't have sound, so they can also still hear everything in the stream.
"So you're going to notice," I say. "That I'm not logged into World of Myst right now! Well, actually, you can't, since I've just got the camera on buuuuuuuuuuut! Let's talk! I've seen some of you mentioning you saw my new video this morning! That was so much fun to make! If you haven't seen it yet, it's a thirty-minute video! Figuring out how to edit it took me a bit, but I managed to do it in only a week this time!
"How did it take me a bit to figure out how to edit?" I summarize a chat message. "Well, the difference between this one and the last one was that we were running an obstacle course! Do exclamation-point video to get the link, it'll get whispered to you by the command bot! Rather than showing each of us doing the course separately, I did the intro, my initial run, then the best runs for each of my friends with those ones all at the same time. So I had to have the video on the screen four times. That was… well, that took me a bit to figure out. The next part was showing us messing up, then our best bits! I had to note down each one of those so I could make sure I included them, and that meant watching the video a couple of times just for that. The video ends with showing my best run, then the best times we each managed, then me running it with full strength, then the closing!"
We talk about the video for a few more minutes and I'm probably going to switch to doing this on Wednesdays if I release athletics videos on Mondays. That way, my viewers have more time to watch it. Tuesdays sounds like it'd be enough time, but I stream Duty of Loyalty with Lexi on those days and don't want to make her wait.
"When's the next collab with Carter?" I read another question. "We are currently working on arranging that! But now that school's in session, he can't come this way as much as he can during the summer. I also have to work out the schedule with Aunt Rachel if I go out that way. It's a lot.
"Alright!" I say. "So I saw a new feature while setting up stream and I want to give it a try! Xanson TV has this thing where I have to watch an ad on the stream, and I mean I have to watch an ad. The full ad must be visible to viewers, and once it's over, I have to talk with my chat about what bits of the ad I liked, what bits I disliked, and whether or not I think I'd buy the product because of the ad. Is it paid? Yeah! I'll get money from doing this, as long as it's determined I actually met all of the criteria listed, and it's basically that."
I was playing with the setup before so that I could change the scene so that the full ad is visible. It also has to be a certain amount of the stream window, and the system even lets me know if it's above or below that. The new scene for this has the ad taking up most of the window, my camera in the upper-left corner, my sub and follow goals at the top, and my chat on the left.
There are three ads I can choose from, but I can only pick one to do. I'm not sure how frequently I'll be allowed to do this but it might be based on something like whether or not I met all of the requirements and if the test runs of this among many streamers works out. Maybe other factors I can't think of.
One of the requirements for it is that I have to let the entire ad play through the first time (some exceptions like real-life things interfering are allowed). After that, I'm allowed to go back to any point in the ad and talk about it, though I can also make comments during – I just can't pause or go back until it's played through entirely once.
"Ooookay," I say. "So this ad does the same thing as basically every other food ad I've seen does. And it's for a pizza place! A big-name one that's also fancy and expensive. They opened one of those locally recently, over in Crater Creek. I haven't gone yet but I've thought about it and this ad… what? I-wh-huh-b-I-w-"
This ad is so offensive that the words just won't come out, no matter how long I try.
[AuntRachel]: Articulate, Seb.
I take a deep breath, then move to a part of the ad.
"Okay, look at this," I say. "You expect me to believe that that is the setup for a bunch of kids eating pizza?"
It has a group of five kids around my age eating, along with their parents. They're at home, the food on a table while the kids are eating on the floor with the parents at a table. The kids are all sitting in a circle, their dishes in front of them.
"This is so obviously paid acting!" I say. "There's no way those kids didn't think it was dumb! Look! You can even see that these two are straining their smiles!"
I zoom in on the boy and girl I'm referring to, showing how fake their smiles are.
"Now let's get back to the issue," I say. "They didn't get to put the pizza slices on their plates, did they? This probably isn't even real pizza in the first place, just art made to look like real food, but that's a different issue entirely.
"First," I say. "These plates are the fancy stuff! Seriously? Paper plates work just as fine for pizza delivery! And you can compost them or put them in paper recycling! This isn't some fiction story of an alternate Earth where only some places accept paper and cardboard with food grease on it!"
Xander's mentioned that his ex read books with those, and they honestly sound like horror stories rather than just alternate-Earth stories. A giant heap of fused plastic in the ocean from all of the plastic waste? Poop rivers on frozen mountains people hike on?
What in the actual heck?
I do my best not to shudder at that thought and get back on track.
"No one's going to have nine people there and go 'let's bust out the fancy plates for pizza!'" I exclaim. "They're either gonna use their regular dishes or go with paper plates! Also, why are the kids using condiment cups for their marinara? And little mini-plates for their wings and breadsticks? The heck? And look how neatly everything is placed on the plates! I'd expect that of someone like Xander, but he's an exception rather than the norm! And look!"
I show all of the plates.
"They're all like that!" I say. "I get it, it's a fancy pizza place, but I see this for basically every food ad! And they always have just one pizza slice on their plate! Wanna know how many slices I had on my plate last time we had pizza? Three! And some breadsticks, and some wings! One! Plate! And I poured the marinara right onto the plate! I only do that when I don't have to share it. There's no point in pouring it out if I don't.
"So no!" I say. "This ad doesn't make me wanna order from them! It makes me feel like I have to get all fancy and dressed up just to even touch the box! And it's pizza! It's not like it's some five-star, ten-course meal! It's fast! Food! Pizza! Fancy ones, sure, but it's still fast food! I mean, I get they probably make everything there in the store, even the dough, but I bet I can order it and have it within thirty minutes if they're not busy!"
This reminds me that I still have that $50 gift card to a pizza chain we were all given for helping out with the tests and demonstrations for Xander's gaming console and magitech glasses. It's been a couple of months and it's just sitting in my wallet because I keep forgetting to use it.
Aunt Rachel thinks I probably used it one of the times we've gotten pizza, or when my friends and I all order pizza. The others probably used theirs already, but none of us used ours for the group hangouts.
That, and we don't order pizza that often. I've used most of the $100 burger joint gift card just because of how often we hang out and go to one of those. It was also easier to remember since I eat burgers more than pizza.
Chat and I talk about the ad some more, for about fifteen total minutes. The requirement is seven, but I have a lot to say about the ad.
"And remember," I say. "If you really want to make your pizza seem like something for the family, then make it make sense! If I feel like I'm gonna have to dress in a suit to eat the food – and I literally have a super-rich friend who doesn't do that – then most kids will! And you want the kids to ask their parents for it because their parents will eventually give in! You want it to look like something a kid would actually eat just in his living room or whatever!"
I take a deep breath, then let it out.
"Okay!" I say. "Let's get to the game!"
I sign onto the server and send a greeting to Xander and Lexi in chat, though only Lexi responds.
"Xander must be focused on something," I say. "He's probably not paying attention to chat. I'll say hi again when he notices!
"Gonna work on decorating of the cliffs," I tell my chat the plan for today's stream. "Let's talk a bit more while I do that! I want to get the exterior done at some point this week! The loot is good for now! But I'll probably go plunder some more ships and villages at least once this week."
I spent three of my four streams on this server last week texturing the cliff, and it looks amazing. I textured it for quite a long stretch, and the concealment is going to cover that full stretch as well.
Obviously, it'll be easy to tell there's something special about the cliff, but my plan is to eventually do an immense amount of this. That's something which will take me months to do, but the effect will be really cool. It'll also just make the cliff face along this part of the continent easy to conceal other things in and trick people into thinking things are concealed where they aren't.
By texturing and adding plant growth to ocean-side cliffs on several continents, others will have a difficult time figuring out which one is mine if they don't already know. Or they may just assume it's some sort of project that's going on and not meant for concealing things.
But I might not be the only one doing it, so it could potentially go faster. It all depends on how things go next week and in the weeks after.
"By the way," I say as I start opening up chests to pull blocks and other plants out of. "I'm not going to be streaming on Friday. The eighth-graders at all of the local public schools are going on a field trip to the zoo then, so there's gonna be hundreds of kids there, including my friends. So I'm going, too! Xander and I are going together, though it's a field trip for him as well."
He asked his dad before we ate dinner on Saturday if he could go on a field trip to the zoo. Mr. Caldwell told him he could go without it being a field trip if he wanted, but then Xander mentioned about the others going on one.
It's apparently his first time going to the zoo, and he wants to go when there will be something like a thousand other kids guaranteed to be there. At least there's plenty of space for it, but I think his dad is going to make sure he doesn't get too stimulated. Mr. Caldwell seemed concerned but Xander seemed to really want to go there as a field trip for some reason.
So it was approved.
[Kevin93]: arent they expecting snow? it might get cncled
"Yeah," I say. "But Xander's never been to the zoo before and is looking forward to the field trip."
Several of my chatters are confused about what that has to do with anything.
"It's Xander," I say. "If he doesn't want it to snow so the field trip doesn't get canceled, the clouds will hold themselves until after the field trip. They'll be edged for sure, but they're not gonna blow until after!"
[AuntRachel]: Seb! Inappropriate!
I giggle a little. If she heard the things said by some kids in a middle school, she'd know that I was fairly tame with that. She sends me a text telling me not to make jokes like that, that I'm too young for it.
"Okay…"
Fine. I'll try to hold back when the openings present themselves.
I return to grabbing blocks, then head out to the front and begin texturing the walls. A few minutes in, there's a knock at the door.
"IT'S FOR ME!" I yell as I pull off my headphones and hurry upstairs.
When I get there, Aunt Rachel has just opened the door for the delivery driver, who's dressed in a warm outfit rather than just the shorts I am. Brrr! It's cold outside!
"When did you order pizza?" Aunt Rachel asks.
"While I was reviewing the ad!" I tell her as I check the food.
It's not like I needed to use my hands constantly for it, so I had plenty of time to place the order.
Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.
"This isn't even the same place as the ad," she says.
"Yeah," I say. "But I had a gift card for this one, from the testing! Okay! One large veggie-lovers with bacon, one large meat-lovers with extra cheese, my cheesy breadsticks and marinara, some hot wings, and a half-gal of root beer! It all looks good, thanks!"
I take the boxes from the delivery guy, and he wishes us a good day and leaves.
"If it weren't for the gift card," I tell her. "I'd be out of luck. I'm soooooo low on money right now."
Not just from the spa day and the streamer orb purchases, but from other stuff I've bought, like snacks to keep in my room in case I get hungry. There's also a minifridge for drinks and stuff, and I stuck a container of ice cream in its small freezer. Most of what's in there is actually healthy food like fruits and vegetables.
Even with all the junk I eat, I do still like healthy foods, too. And that'll make sure I can get my nutrition in case Aunt Rachel forgets to buy food.
"Sig," she chuckles. "And why are you so low on money after earning almost six grand?"
"Uh…" my face heats up a little. "Because I bought a lot of stuff? Spa days, a streamer orb, food, some new clothes, some games… I still have some left to pay for the magic lessons with Mr. Roger without touching what we put into savings, though!"
"I know," she says. "You made sure that was set aside. And what have we learned from this?"
"To make a budget and not exceed it," I tell her. "That way, I don't burn through it as fast and crave more. I'm definitely not going to do that again. Two weeks was way too fast. And I'm definitely gonna put more into savings this time, too. Once I get paid again, could you help me figure out how to save it up so I don't burn through it so fast and can make it to the next one?"
"I can do that," she smiles. "Now go on back to your stream."
"Gotta get a cup, an ice cream scoop, a spoon, a paper plate, and some napkins, first!" I tell her. "Oh, and you can have half of the breadsticks and one of the marinara cups. And the veggie-lovers-with-bacon is yours."
"Thanks, Sig," she says.
We divide up the food and I grab the stuff I need, then head back down to my room.
"Hold on, chat!" I say as I set the boxes down on my bed, as there's no room on my desk for them. "Lemme get a root beer float!"
I make one using the root beer I ordered with my pizza and some of the ice cream in my minifridge, then I server myself some pizza, wings, and gooey, cheesy breadsticks.
"I know I ate lunch, like, an hour ago," I say. "But I'm still hungry! So here's to pizza!"
I take a bite of the pizza, then wipe my hand on a napkin before getting back to work. Once I eat my fill, I top off my float with more soda and ice cream, then lock in on making the concealment veil for my cove…
Up until footsteps on my temporary platform cause me to choke on my soda.
"You have violated the laws," a semi-robotic, mostly gender-neutral voice leaning towards masculine, says. It's a little bit more lighter than what I'm used to, though. "Cease your thefts and pillaging, and turn yourself in for judgment."
I turn around to face someone who looks like the Manager, except their vines don't cover their arms very well and the flower hat they're wearing is yellow rather than the purple one the Manager has.
This is something I expected to happen. Chat probably didn't even with the announcement post Xander put up on the server's social media before our fitness session this morning. They keep asking me about it but I've been ignoring the questions, just to make them a little frustrated.
"Make me choke on my drink, why don't you?"
"Ha ha ha."
I try to hit them with my sword, but it just goes right through them.
"Who are you, anyway?"
There's quiet for a few moments, probably as they type in what they want it to say. Xander confirmed to Lexi and me after the first appearance of the Manager that the pauses were from the person playing the Manager using a text-to-speech program to get the robotic voice, rather than a voice filter. It also makes sure any other comments or sounds the person makes doesn't transmit to us.
Because they're having to type out their messages, it means there's going to be a pause before anything they don't have a soundbite for.
They're certainly managing to make it feel a little unnerving with those pauses, almost as if they're silently judging me.
"I am an Agent," they respond. "Will you turn yourself in for sentencing?"
"I am literally trying to kill you!" I say. "Does it look like I'm going to turn myself in?"
There's quiet for a few moments.
"Your bounty only increases the more you pillage."
"I haven't even pillaged anything yet today!"
"Please turn yourself in?"
"Please dry out and burn yourself so I can get back to work!"
"Very well, then."
"Oh, you will?"
"Ha ha ha. No."
The Agent vanishes.
"Ooookay, then!" I say. "Seems the Manager is now sending others after me. Fortunately, they don't seem interested in taking me in directly, so I can get back to work! I want to get this finished so my hideout is properly hidden! That should make it more difficult for the Federation and whoever the Manager and his Agent are to find me!"
I'm so glad I managed to say "his". Lexi and I were treating them like a "he" before even though they're technically gender-neutral… and we found out after our last stream that he's actually Ms. Katie. Saying "she" would probably tip people off after us spending a week referring to the character as a guy.
There would be no reason for us to change in the lore as we haven't been told otherwise.
Xander asked Ms. Katie for help during it to find a way to get Lexi money in-lore after the coins mod was added. Money for building communal stuff, that is.
The Manager was Ms. Katie's solution, and she decided to come and mess with me after. All of last week, she kept popping up at random times to startle me, and she does a good job of it. Unlike us players, an NPC like the Manager isn't banned from metagaming.
And she makes full use of it.
There's nothing like wiping out thirty skeletons on a shipwreck, thinking I'm done, then hearing footsteps behind me and a bow drawing. I thought I was getting executed, but the Manager put the bow away and asked me to turn myself in.
And now there's at least one other person who's going to be giving me jumpscares. I just hope they don't do it too often so that I actually focus on the stuff I'm doing in the game. Xander promised they were asked to add to the lore, not interrupt it, so they shouldn't do that, but I can still have my doubts.
I return to adding in plant life and such, waiting another half-hour before finally responding to chat.
"So you've all been asking me," I say. "About the image Xander posted this morning. Well… I'm gonna say what I can say about it!"
Chat starts spamming "FINALLY". A few of them respond in a way which makes me think Xander already talked about it a little in his own stream, but they weren't able to tell people to go there and find out.
Chathopping isn't allowed, so automod was flagging them. I wasn't paying attention to that bit, but I did see chathopping mentions.
The image Xander posted this morning showed seven player silhouettes with XSL SMP above it and next Monday's date and 12:30 PM Mountain Standard Time below them. The background of the image was a view from an ocean with a landmass in the distance. People already figured out that it's spawn, but I don't think that was meant to be secret. The view itself was taking from a ship on the ocean, but it's not my ship.
It was a new ship built just for the picture, off-stream. I think Ms. Katie made it.
In addition to that, there were storm clouds in the sky, giving the whole image a sort of darker appearance. I'm not sure what that was about, since they could've just done a command to clear the weather for the picture.
Or maybe Xander didn't want to do that when making it? Or he forgot how and didn't want to look it up, so he left it in. I can see him doing that.
"Yes!" I say. "This might be an SMP to test out some stuff relating to streaming on the new system, but it's getting more members! Next Monday, seven more people are going to show up here! Canonically, though, Lexi, Xander, and I don't know they're coming. Well, Xander might canonically know, but Lexi and I don't. The others are actually already on the chat server, they're added to it automatically once they're officially a member of the SMP."
Though that process is different from just adding them on. This is another thing getting tested for future use, so it's exclusive to us right now. How it works is that the user gets invited to the SMP by an admin-level person, and the server rules and contract are sent to them. If they agree to abide by the rules and contract, then they're made a member of it and are added to the chat server.
Lexi and I both received a copy of the rules and contract, though we signed without worry. There aren't really too many things which anyone who's halfway decent would violate. The main takeaways are to respect the lore, territory, and property of other members, as well as to be kind and respectful. We're also not allowed to reveal certain behind-the-scenes things, which is why I couldn't tell anyone about the new members until after the official announcement on the server's social media feed.
I've known they were coming since last Monday. Xander let us know after that stream that new members were being looked into so that we'd have more players to play with and can test more features with.
One thing which surprised me which I should've realized in hindsight is that we're being paid for our assistance with testing things. That's probably one of the reasons we're not allowed to reveal certain behind-the-scenes stuff without permission, though that might also just be so that things don't get spoiled.
Like the new members.
Aunt Rachel did practice this conversation with me a few times so I know how to handle talking about this with chatters. I probably don't remember everything she had me practice, but it's best to set some ground rules so they know what the situation is.
"And if you're wondering about the Agent," I tell my chat. "That's not a player – that's an admin! There are at least three new ones, all starting today. Seems one of them wanted to give me a greeting. And no, I don't know who the admins are – they're actually hidden from regular players on the chat server. I don't even know how many there actually are, all I know is that there are at least four, but Xander hates that number so there are likely more."
Xander's hatred of certain numbers is why seven new players were added as well. It brings the player count up to ten. Nine is better, he said, but he didn't want to add six new players.
"And with the admins," I say. "The three I know about won't just moderate things and make sure people are following the rules. Those three, I specifically know about because they'll be acting as NPCs, like the Manager. Xander wanted us to make sure we knew there would be more NPCs. And no, I don't know what they'll do or be, but it seems one of them might be a subordinate to the Manager. I'm basing that on how similar they are to the Manager in appearance and the fact that they're acting the same way the Manager did."
Ms. Katie deciding to mess with me has turned into additional lore, it seems.
"Also," I say. "I have no idea what the other players are going to have as their roleplay and personal lore, so I don't know if any of them will be pirates like me or if I'll remain the only pirate. I can hope for a pirate companion, but I don't know.
"And yes," I add. "I know who the players are, but I'm not allowed to say. I know some people would probably be fine with just saying stuff like that, but I agreed not to. And don't try pressuring new players into giving information they say they're not allowed to give or which they don't respond to – part of the agreement we all make to join the SMP is that we don't reveal things we're not allowed to reveal. If we do, we'll be kicked off. This is Xander, too. I've never broken an agreement with him, but I get the feeling he's not forgiving. One infraction of that and they're gone.
"So again," I say. "When new players join the server don't press them for information that can be spoilers. And don't think that me being thirteen is going to make me impulsive enough to just say stuff. A kid being properly raised means he'll usually think before he speaks. There are times where I obviously won't, but this isn't one of them.
"Pressuring me to give information will result in a ban," I say. "I'm serious on that, okay? It's okay to ask, but it's not okay to pressure. We're taught as kids not to give in to peer pressure because peer pressure is bad. The same goes here. So keep that in mind, okay? Be kind and respectful, and accept that some things are meant to be surprises.
"Also," I add. "By not revealing who the others are, it means they can continue as they have been without getting pressured to give information about their lore before they even make their debut on the server. This makes it easier for people to discover it as they watch the creators. Like, it's better to be surprised than to have it ruined. So yeah, we're not saying who the new members are. That's something you'll have to find out next Monday."
I return to working on creating the plant veil to conceal the entrance to my cove. New members joining is part of why I want to finish this up this week.
They were all told in no uncertain terms that they're not allowed to use any knowledge they have of the server from anything they saw before joining it. This means that if they know where my cove is, they can't just come over here. They have to find it organically, in-lore.
And not force themselves into finding it by "searching" this area or something like that. Deliberately doing something they know will lead them to their character discovering something the content creator already knows about is banned. This is especially so when the purpose of it is to get their character that information.
It counts as metagaming.
They all agreed to abide by that rule, though only one said he's seen the location. He apparently watches my streams already and said he'll have to switch to only seeing seeing my Duty of Loyalty streams and the post-dinner Thursday stream on the server with Aunt Rachel.
The moment they were accepted onto the server, my streams of me playing on it became considered metagaming by the system.
Nothing I do with the plants really make me happy, but I do manage to get the entrance to the cove itself hard to spot directly when coming from a distance. At least, when three or four chunks away from it.
Not that it isn't obvious there's something there. I've barely extended the plants further out from the cove. The rest of the cliff can wait until after the cove's entrance is finished. I need to make it so that it's harder to spot even from up close.
"Hm?" I notice a chat message as I attach another flower to one of the vines hanging over the entrance. "Did I see the fanart you posted?"
[3llaDraws]: uve shared fanart from others from feeds and the server subforum but not mine so i was wondering if ud seen it
Xanson Entertainment also has forums/subforums for people to post to, in addition to social media feeds. One was added for this SMP, and I think it might be a thing that's getting tested out. There's been a lot of fanart posted – but the fact that some of them are censored when I look proves they're taking the "no metagaming" bit seriously. I can't even see fanart which spoils things on here.
I'm not complaining about that, though. I think that's really neat, and I like that the site does that.
There might be some tweaks made to the feature in the future, but I'm glad I can't get spoiled on the other players' lore just by scrolling through the fanart.
Ella's fanart wasn't one of those.
"I saw it," I tell her. "And I decided not to acknowledge it because it was really disrespectful to Xander. Have you ever seen him in anything other than long-sleeves, pants, and shoes? Maybe a hat like when he hunted that moose? It tasted amazing, by the way. I don't know if he told you guys that or not but it did."
A lot of chatters comment that they haven't seen Xander in anything else.
"Yeah," I say. "That's because he only wears less when he's swimming, and that's not exactly something he'll do around most people. We're lucky if he joins us for swimming with an expanded friend group at a private location. Even then, he might be in a full-body swimsuit, from his neck to his wrists and ankles.
"Anyone who sees Xander wearing a long-sleeved shirt and pants in summer," I say. "And thinks 'oh, when I do a drawing of the members of the SMP on the beach near spawn and have him in a short-sleeved shirt that buttons up but is open, a tee, and sandals', isn't respecting him. Xander doesn't even own sandals, and he has more than enough money to spend on them.
"But seriously," I say. "If you see someone wearing a long-sleeve and pants when it's really hot out, assume there's a reason for it. And Xander's in-game avatar was designed to match his preferred outfits, too. So any fanart I share that has Xander it's gotta respect his outfit choices, okay? Oh, but it's okay if he's wearing socks, in a situation where others would be barefoot and socks would make sense. That's why I reshared the AU one by EmmaFlows where the three of us were chilling on a couch."
I loved that piece of fanart, and she did an amazing job of it. In it, Lexi and I were competing in a game while Xander was busy munching on a giant lemon muffin with blueberries in it. She even nailed the expressions – mine and Lexi's focus and determination, and Xander's blank face of enjoyment.
What really caught my attention with it was that Xander was wearing earplugs in the picture. I was in shorts, Lexi was in shorts and a tee, and Xander was in a long-sleeve, pants, socks, and apparently, earplugs. She even included his bracelet/anklet/necklace collection, and mine as well.
"She noticed so much about Xander," I say. "That she even included that he wears earplugs at certain times. And I'm guessing she even looked up red earplugs from seeing them in my opening for the one video, probably magic ones. Then found that there's a set which blocks things at varying levels. Why do I think this? 'Cause she gave him green ones in it despite only seeing him with red, I think. And the green ones from that set block out loud noises, and you can tell in the art that Lexi and I are likely shouting at times."
Fanartists who actually pay attention to the small details are amazing.
