"Do you even remember how many days you've worked? You're already daring to act like this, and in the future, won't my restaurant just become a place for you and your riffraff friends to freeload? How am I supposed to continue my business like this?" Yang Caiyun was still furious, scolding the manager.
The manager, hearing this, knew he was in the wrong. He looked grim for a moment, then muttered under his breath, "I just didn't serve those two guys any food, was this really necessary? I am your own brother, yet you always side with outsiders."
Yang Caiyun was already angry, and hearing him say this only made her angrier.
"You think what you did was right? Get out of here, I don't want to see you for even a minute!" Yang Caiyun shouted angrily.
"Fine, I'll leave. I don't care to work here anyway!"
Perhaps prompted by Yang Caiyun's yelling, the manager suddenly became defiant, took off his uniform, and left straight away.
"Remember how you are acting now, and don't let Mom come to plead for you!" Yang Caiyun said angrily.
The manager heard her but still walked out without turning back.
Watching the manager leave the restaurant, Wang Caiyun didn't stop him, nor did she try to retain him.
Instead, she sighed, and then apologized to Chen Yang and Jin Qiwei, "Yang Zi, and this friend, I'm really sorry. That guy is my younger brother, who took advantage of me to act recklessly in the restaurant. I sincerely apologize."
"I'll immediately arrange for the kitchen to serve your food, so it won't delay your important matters."
After saying this, Yang Caiyun immediately instructed a nearby waiter, "Quickly take these two to the private room, and notify the kitchen to speed up their order."
"Yes, ma'am."
The waiter complied and quickly made a gesture to Chen Yang, inviting him in.
Chen Yang initially wanted to talk to Yang Caiyun, but there were important matters to deal with, so he just nodded and followed the waiter with Jin Qiwei.
The two of them, under the guidance of the waiter, entered a well-furnished private room.
This time, after just about five minutes, the dishes started coming in one after another.
Neither Chen Yang nor Jin Qiwei spoke.
When the food was served, Chen Yang signalled Jin Qiwei to start eating.
Once they had eaten enough, Chen Yang didn't beat around the bush anymore, and officially turned to the main topic with Jin Qiwei.
"Brother Jin, in fact, my visit today is not as a private individual, but on behalf of our company, Zhongcheng," Chen Yang said, smiling while opening a bottle of wine.
Jin Qiwei had almost finished eating by then, and if Chen Yang hadn't brought it up, he was just about to ask.
"Oh? Brother Chen Yang, what's the matter?" Jin Qiwei, noticing how formally Chen Yang spoke, thought maybe there was a problem with the shareholding structure.
"It's just about funding, not a big deal," Chen Yang said as he finished opening the bottle and poured a glass for Jin Qiwei first, then filled his own and raised his glass.
Jin Qiwei followed suit and clinked glasses with Chen Yang.
Then he heard Chen Yang continue, "I've been thinking recently, and I believe we should set up two new projects in the village, so we need some funding and plan to get a bank loan. Brother Jin, as one of the shareholders, I came to ask for your opinion specifically."
When Chen Yang said this, a range of emotions flickered across Jin Qiwei's face.
He hadn't expected Chen Yang to come for funding issues.
He hadn't anticipated it at all, because before, Chen Yang had always portrayed himself as not short of money in front of him, so how could he have guessed this situation?
"Huh? Brother Chen Yang, you must be kidding. The project in Liuhe Village is a hot commodity, with investors eager to get in. How did it get to the point of requiring a loan?" Jin Qiwei squinted slightly, appearing a little suspicious.
Chen Yang had anticipated Jin Qiwei's reaction, so he wasn't surprised at all.
"Ah, Brother Jin, the previous funds were certainly sufficient, but as I said earlier, I want to add two new projects, and since I couldn't find investors in a short time, I thought of taking out a loan," Chen Yang replied with a smile.
Hearing this, Jin Qiwei's expression remained unchanged.
He was in business himself and understood the industry. Projects like this typically aren't short on investors.
Even if there are additional projects, they wouldn't lack investment.
Jin Qiwei knew this but didn't directly expose it. Instead, he asked Chen Yang what new projects were being added.
Upon hearing this, Chen Yang didn't hide anything and directly told Jin Qiwei about his latest ideas and the reservoir in the mountains.
After listening to Chen Yang, Jin Qiwei became even more suspicious.
In his view, the attractions like river drifts and fishing facilities, along with the construction of two waterways and a road up the mountain, wouldn't require much investment.
So how could this project reach a point where a bank loan was necessary?
Jin Qiwei was quite puzzled but still didn't break the silence. Instead, he asked, "How much are you planning to loan?"
When Chen Yang heard this, he didn't answer immediately. Instead, he paid special attention to Jin Qiwei's facial expression before decisively stating he intended to get a loan of one billion.
"What?"
Jin Qiwei was shocked.
"You're planning to loan a billion? Why? The two projects you just mentioned can be completed with at most a hundred million; why do you need a billion?" Jin Qiwei couldn't stay calm, his expression was one of surprise.
This reaction from Jin Qiwei was also anticipated by Chen Yang.
So he wasn't surprised, and he continued with a faint smile, "Brother Jin, you've underestimated the budget, these two projects require at least three to four hundred million conservatively, and additionally, other projects in the village need funding for completion, so I thought, since we'll need it eventually, why not loan it all at once to avoid trouble."
When Chen Yang said this, Jin Qiwei fell silent.
His expression looked slightly grim, but he didn't say anything.
Instead, he quietly calculated within his mind.
He found this situation very odd, but when he tried to think about it, he couldn't pinpoint the issue.
"A billion in loans, the interest won't be small!" After a long silence, Jin Qiwei remarked.
Chen Yang nodded with a smile, "Yes, conservatively estimated, the interest will be at least tens of millions, perhaps even more."
Jin Qiwei's expression became even more unpleasant.
Although millions aren't a lot, the sudden change was somewhat hard for him to accept.
"Is there any other way? To avoid taking a loan?" Jin Qiwei thought for a moment and asked.
Chen Yang had been waiting for this question for a long time, and upon hearing it, he was inwardly delighted.
But externally, he remained calm and composed.
"There is a way, just by finding another investor, but I couldn't find any investors at this time, so I can only think about getting a bank loan," Chen Yang said with some helplessness.
Upon hearing this, Jin Qiwei seemed to suddenly understand something.
Recalling the last time they met, Chen Yang's lack of financial worries, he had an epiphany.
"Brother Chen Yang, tell me honestly, besides me, did anyone else approach you for investment?" Jin Qiwei squinted at Chen Yang, as if trying to see through him.
Chen Yang nearly burst out laughing upon hearing this.
But he managed to restrain himself.
Even if he were to tell Jin Qiwei the truth at this moment, nothing would change.
After all, the funds were secured, and the contracts signed.
They're in this together, but Chen Yang still refrained from being truthful.
