Monster Chronicles: My Daoist Skill Comes from Mythology

Chapter 575: Time-Space Dao Ancient Immortals Jiao'liao

Void.

Song Lin stood before a massive blazing fireball, holding the Ancient Green Candle Lamp as he continuously unleashed flames to refine the object before him.

In the sky, Yellow Turban Warriors, each towering a hundred zhang tall, were flying. Not far away, an Immortal Official utilized an array to summon meteors one after another.

The Yellow Turban Warriors carried these stones and hurled them into the great fireball.

This process lasted for a hundred years.

The fireball, with a diameter of two million miles, was in fact the sun forged by Song Lin.

What was once an empty void now contained numerous stars.

Beside Song Lin stood a charming young girl, adorable yet carrying a stern expression. Her slightly rounded face paired with such seriousness gave an unexpectedly amusing impression.

This girl was the Treasure Servant of the Sanmao Heavenly Court, Wu Yi's eldest daughter Wu Chen, leader of the Eight Sceneries World, and a Harmonization Cultivator from the Heavenly Court.

She was also the Sun Star Lord personally designated by Song Lin.

Standing nearby was another woman with a frosty demeanor, carrying a sword on her back. This was Qingyu, Wu Yi's elder sister by title, and thus Wu Chen's aunt.

"Have you learned it?" Song Lin asked Wu Chen.

"More or less."

"Good. From now on, you'll refine it yourself. I've already taught you how to use the Ancient Green Candle Lamp. If you're unsure, ask me."

Song Lin assigned the task to the two of them.

He had spent a hundred years laying the foundation; the rest was now up to them.

As for the other stars, they weren't as crucial.

Compared to the two important stars, Taiyang and Taiyin, the creation of other stars was simpler. Song Lin only needed to condense the star cores, leaving the rest for others to handle.

Of course, the other stars still needed the blessings of the Great Dao, which required them to comprehend and instill it themselves.

Song Lin couldn't assist much with that.

Back in the Palace of the Polestar.

"Heavenly Emperor, someone has been spotted outside!"

The Heavenly Gate Divine General arrived to report.

"Someone?" Song Lin was intrigued. Could someone truly sneak into the Medium Thousand World unnoticed?

All the information within this cosmos was under his control.

The celestial stars, Taiyin and Taiyang, the essences of Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—all were inhabited by divinities.

If an outsider truly arrived, wouldn't that imply the individual possessed extraordinary cultivation?

The Divine General, standing two zhang tall and clad in golden armor, only reached Song Lin's waist, yet his aura dwarfed Song Lin's by a significant margin.

"It's not within the Medium Thousand World, but in the Great Thousand Void outside, as discovered by the Ancient Emperor…"

"Has there been a conflict?" Song Lin asked.

"No. The Ancient Emperor avoided alerting the intruder and is merely monitoring secretly. The exact next steps require your guidance, Heavenly Emperor."

"Understood. You may rest now."

The Divine General left.

Watching his retreating figure disappear, Song Lin thought to himself:

"The three-eyed creatures in the Heavenly Court are becoming more numerous."

Two Yanggs Jian, a Wen Zhong, and several Primordial Spirit Strange People—all had three eyes.

Not to mention the countless Three-eyed Strange People and a plethora of three-eyed monsters. Some face-blind individuals might even mistake them for Taoist Soldiers.

Song Lin's form transformed into a streak of golden light and vanished.

He arrived in the Great Thousand Void, a domain filled with chaotic streams of multicolored currents.

The Great Thousand Void felt like a pond polluted with ink.

The turbulent currents of the void gleamed like gems in black water, or like dappled oil paints, tangled with patches of vibrant and ephemeral organisms.

Disorderly, bizarre, contradictory, chaotic, boundless—these were the characteristics of the Great Thousand World.

At times, Song Lin couldn't help but question—did the true Great Thousand Heavenly Court actually exist?

He reached a remote and shadowy Star Domain, just as a thousand-zhang, eighty-eight-tiered golden tower ship broke through the void.

A refined middle-aged scholar stood at the dragonhead-shaped prow of the ship.

Unlike others who deliberately maintained their youthful appearance, Guu Yuchan preferred to present himself as a middle-aged man, or even an elderly figure.

This treasure ship, crafted from Innate Geng Metal, breath soil, Earth Essence, Yinn Shang Altar five-colored soil, and Jianmu, possessed a dharma body akin to that of a Heavenly Immortal. It was capable of carrying a million passengers to explore the void.

At present, the Heavenly Court only owned one such ship, which was reserved for cultivators of the Eight Sceneries World to plunder resources. Should there someday be a hundred such ships, they could serve as treasure ships for dispatching Heavenly Court forces.

"Where's the person?" Song Lin got straight to the point.

"Strictly speaking, I'm not entirely sure it's a person…"

Guu Yuchan pointed in a certain direction.

Following his gaze, Song Lin saw a red meteor streaking through the void.

Upon closer inspection, the "meteor" was actually a figure.

Dressed in crimson robes, its abdomen was covered with countless spinning eyes, peering in all directions. Its upper body was shrouded in red smoke and fire mist, while its lower half twisted into a long, coiling serpent's tail.

Its avian head bore the features of a crow, with a crimson beak that occasionally plucked treasures from the void.

In its right hand, it held an eerie green lantern, which emitted firefly-like sparks that flickered in and out of sight.

"I recently discovered a Secret Realm, likely fragmentary remnants of a small world—an amber-brown continent frozen within. Inside were countless valuable treasures I intended to collect, but suddenly, the void was pierced by the creature's beak. Countless green sparks flooded in, and by the time I regained focus, everything was gone."

Guu Yuchan then followed the trail, eventually stumbling upon this peculiar being in the void, and promptly reported to Song Lin.

Song Lin summoned his Divine Thought back to the Palace of the Polestar and found Bai Ze dozing off in the rear garden. He described the strange creature from the void.

"That's Jiao'liao," Bai Ze explained.

"Stillness marks the time, circling without faltering; Emptiness defines the void, standing unwavering. Jiao'liao is both time and space, an Ancient Immortal of the void."

The Ancient Immortal Jiao'liao was an Alien Immortal drifting through the void, surviving by plundering its resources.

It was well known that the chaotic currents of the void were composed of countless fragments, each brimming with contradictory and erratic rules. Even dharma bodies of Heavenly Immortals struggled to withstand the erosion of the turbulence.

Yet Jiao'liao could traverse these chaotic void streams through its time-space abilities, even sneaking into others' Small Thousand Worlds.

"Jiao'liao is also known as the Great Thief, long unseen. How remarkable to encounter it now."
