Monster Chronicles: My Daoist Skill Comes from Mythology

Chapter 615: The Gathering of the Gods Unifying the Medium Thousand

The Supreme God-beating Whip is now in hand, giving Donghua Heavenly Court the foundation for rapid expansion.

Previously, when converting other Taoist factions, it was necessary to passively use the Taiyi Jinhua Scripture for transformation. This required the other party's willingness, certain qualifications, and a significant amount of time for the process.

Now, transformations can be performed directly with the God-beating Whip.

As for the character and temperament of the person being transformed, that can be observed over time. If they prove irredeemable, they can simply be removed later.

The only factor limiting the expansion of Donghua Heavenly Court is the inability to fully process its acquired territories. Even now, many immortals of the Pure Land Seven Realms have not fully returned to their posts. Aside from the Heavenly Immortal-level masters, a large number of other factions' people are still imprisoned.

Song Lin stepped out of the grand hall and summoned Shi Yinhua.

"To the Heavenly Prison."

Shi Yinhua turned and led Song Lin through the void of the Medium Thousand Heavenly Court, arriving before a desolate star.

The star was entirely ensnared in an array formation, with countless burning meteors surging above in the sky.

Beneath, the world was dark and devoid of light, divided into separate regions.

Purgatory, sword trees, oil cauldrons...

Many individuals inside were tormented day and night. This was the Heavenly Prison, where numerous criminals were held.

Except for a rare few whose crimes were relatively minor, the rest were heinous offenders whose deaths alone could not atone for their sins.

The two descended upon the Heavenly Prison Star.

Shi Yinhua explained, "There are a total of 12,000 criminals imprisoned on the Heavenly Prison Star. Over 2,000 are demons from the previous Demon Tribulation, 7,000 are Buddhas from the Pure Land World, and more than 3,000 are from the former Golden Que Heavenly Court."

"The lowest cultivation level among them is at the Core Formation Stage, 1,200 are at the tribulation-crossing stage, 81 possess the Primordial Spirit, and 11 have reached Harmonization."

Heavenly Immortals are detained at the bottom of the Death River.

Song Lin held the God-beating Whip in hand, feeling some hesitation in his heart.

These individuals were truly heinous. Should he really reform them and integrate them into the Heavenly Court?

If he did, how would that make him any different from the Buddhist Sect?

Lay down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately—what would the slain think of that? How would their surviving families feel?

Thinking about this, another idea came to Song Lin's mind.

Reforming them would be unfair to the dead, but killing them outright seemed wasteful. Why not repurpose them?

Song Lin lifted the God-beating Whip, infusing it with his mana. The treasure radiated blinding silver light, and then he mercilessly lashed at the crowd of prisoners on the Heavenly Prison Star.

Roar!

The long whip transformed into a Silver Dragon, devouring the sun and moon. Tens of thousands of streams of silver energy descended upon each prisoner, causing their bodies to be torn and battered. The silver light penetrated into their bodies, melting their forms until only glowing spheres remained.

Clatter!

The glowing spheres scattered in all directions, merging into stars, mountains, rivers, human bodies, and beast forms...

This was what was meant by repurposing waste.

They were transformed back into primordial energy. If merged into stars, they might give birth to Innate Divine Beings. If merged into human bodies, they could forge a prodigy with deep foundations.

This was the most efficient form of repurposing waste.

The Heavenly Prison Star was emptied as a result.

Afterward, Song Lin traveled to the Death River.

Subduing the five Heavenly Immortals—Emperor Yi, Taishi, the Demon King, Hou, and Emperor Shuiyuan—he transformed them into his followers.

The Demon King and Hou were dispatched to the Demon World, while the other three stayed behind.

In converting them, Song Lin left a prohibition within their Spirit Platforms. Though it might not allow him to end their lives in an instant, it would enable him to monitor whether they attempted to defy his control.

"Do not attempt to resist," he said.

As he spoke, Song Lin exuded an overwhelming aura.

It was the power of nine Golden Cores, equivalent to the combat strength of a True Immortal.

The power of a True Immortal equated to the strength of an entire realm. Song Lin directed the weight of an entire world upon these individuals, leaving them no doubt of the pressure they were under.

"We dare not resist!"

The group bowed their heads in submission, no longer harboring any rebellious intentions.

Realizing that Song Lin's cultivation far surpassed their own, they had no choice but to resign themselves to their fate.

Subsequently, the group arrived at the Palace of the Polestar.

Song Lin summoned the assembled immortals.

The gates to twelve Small Thousand Worlds opened wide, and immortals of the Purple Mansion level or above came to the Palace of the Polestar to report for duty.

Song Lin sat high atop the central platform, surrounded by a radiance of pure light that manifested as wondrous phenomena from various realms—mountains, rivers, and lands.

On either side of him stood dharma images of immortals beyond the tribulation-crossing stage. These towering images, each over a thousand feet tall, glowed with divine light and exuded imposing majesty, like pillars holding up the entire hall.

The dharma images diminished in height as they radiated outward from Song Lin.

Closest to Song Lin were Heavenly Lord Emperor Mao Ying and Earth King Emperor Mao Gu.

Also present were the strategists and generals of the Civil and Martial Arts Academy—Heavenly Mechanism, Chiyou, Mao Zhong, Yuanbo, among others.

Beyond them stood the Heavenly Emperors and Realm Lords of various realms—Ji Dan, Ji Fa, Ji Kao, Wu Chen, Chen Yixin, Xiezhi—and the leaders of various Taoist factions, the Guardians of each star, and the Star Lords...

At a glance, their numbers exceeded 100,000. Fortunately, the internal space of the Palace of the Polestar was vast; otherwise, it would not have been able to accommodate so many people.

One section of the hall was reserved for recent defectors. Here, the five immortals, including Emperor Shuiyuan, were stationed, led by a bald monk—this man being the Great Sun World Venerable.

The immortals, guided by their respective predecessors, came forward in turn to greet the Eastern King.

Large-scale gatherings like this were rare in the Heavenly Court. Some among the group had never seen Song Lin's true appearance; this was their first time laying eyes on him.

As the crowd greeted Song Lin, he committed their faces to memory, making a rough assessment of the Heavenly Court's strength.

Currently, there were four True Immortal-level powerhouses: Mao Ying, Mao Gu, the Great Sun World Venerable, and himself.

He judged himself to be the strongest among them; with the addition of his True Immortal artifact, his strength slightly outmatched Mao Ying's, whose true combat power was at the mid-stage of the True Immortal level.

Having forged nine unparalleled Golden Cores, even Song Lin himself was unsure how his power corresponded to traditional realms, feeling as though he had ventured into uncharted territory. Unfortunately, Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad was absent; otherwise, he could have sought answers regarding his state.

Should he proceed to evolve a world according to the methods of True Immortals?
