Luo Ze Imperial Capital.
A grand banquet is about to be held at the Siluo Restaurant.
The Siluo Restaurant is the most luxurious restaurant in the Luo Ze Empire. Its exterior is elegantly simple, while the interior is luxuriously cozy, striving to make every detail pleasing to the eye.
Those invited are all of eminent status, and the restaurant is heavily guarded inside and out to ensure the safety of these big names. Only with an invitation can one enter.
The owner of this restaurant is none other than the world-renowned chef, Chilom.
Since childhood, Chilom has displayed an exceptional talent, creating dish after dish of exquisite flavors, spreading his unique understanding of cuisine worldwide.
People live by food, which has made him one of the wealthiest people in the world.
Even in middle age, Chilom continually produces various delicacies, redefining people's standards for gourmet food.
Receiving an invitation from such an influential person, hardly anyone would refuse, not even the Emperor of the Luo Ze Empire.
Invited guests arrived one after another.
Emperor Luo Hui also brought his children, intending to temporarily put aside the affairs of war and enjoy this moment of joy.
With the Emperor's presence, the nobles came forward to greet him, and Chilom's secretary dared not slack off, seating the Emperor in the place of honor and serving the desserts Chilom had prepared in advance, thus hosting the Luo Ze Royal Family graciously.
At this moment, Chilom was incredibly busy in the kitchen.
All the attendees today were VIPs, and most of the main courses required his personal seasoning. Only a few would he entrust to his reliable disciples.
Iyas and He Meng sat idly outside the kitchen door.
He Meng lazily sprawled on Iyas's lap, doing nothing, somewhat wanting to return to his round Slime form.
Iyas, wearing a cloak, kept pondering the tasks ahead, biting her nails, feeling a bit anxious.
This task was of great importance, and since Yang Yu entrusted it to her and He Meng, it indicated Yang Yu valued them highly.
Iyas did not want to let Yang Yu down, so she followed instructions faithfully, staying close to Chilom at all times except for eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom.
Once the main courses were nearly completed, Chilom handed the remaining tasks to his disciples, calculated the time, and walked out of the kitchen, calling to Iyas and He Meng who were on standby outside:
"The time is about right, you two go and prepare. I also need to change clothes to attend."
His words finished, Chilom turned to leave, followed by Iyas and He Meng until they parted at a corridor corner.
Chilom went to change clothes, while Iyas and her companion needed to be on standby at the entrance to the restaurant's second floor.
As they walked, Iyas encountered a young waitress looking around in the corridor.
Seeing Iyas, the young waitress ran to her as if seeing her savior, her eyes brimming with tears, saying:
"Dear sisters, my sister is ill.
I am the replacement waitress working here. It's my first time here, I'm unfamiliar with the environment, and I accidentally got lost.
Could you kindly show me the way? Just lead me to the other waitstaff, that's all I ask.
Please.
My family is not well-off; this job is crucial for me, and I absolutely can't fail.
Even though I'm inexperienced, I want to do something for my family.
I absolutely don't want to be punished for getting lost.
"
In the past, Iyas would have quickly softened her heart, but now she has changed.
She knows that without confirming the true identity of the Enchanting Demon, rashly agreeing to something could very possibly be falling into a trap.
Though cold-hearted, to be safe, Iyas chose to ignore the young waitress.
Just then, another woman dressed as a waiter rushed through the corridor, ran past Iyas, and sternly reprimanded the young waitress:
"Little Ai, why did you come here on your own?
I've already said my illness isn't serious, and I'll soon be ready to work, so why are you interfering?
Do you know what kind of VIPs are attending today?
We absolutely cannot make mistakes."
The young waitress, known as Little Ai, pouted slightly in discontent: "Sister, what are you doing here! Your face is so flushed, a patient should stay obediently in bed, I'm not a child anymore."
"Shut up."
Before Little Ai could finish speaking, her sister grabbed her hand and dragged her in front of Iyas.
Little Ai's sister pressed Little Ai's head down, bowing together to Iyas, and said:
"I'm terribly sorry; I failed to teach my sister properly.
She has caused you trouble.
Please, forgive her, she will leave immediately. I implore you, please do not mention this incident today.
I beg of you, I don't want to lose this job here.
We have a mother with an illness who needs care too."
Thus the two sisters blocked Iyas's path with utmost sincerity.
By now, Iyas couldn't just ignore them and leave, so she simply said:
"Be more careful next time."
After speaking, a strong wind suddenly swept through the corridor, almost blowing off Iyas's hood, her vision wavering, as if she saw the pair of sisters secretly smiling.
In a blink, there was no one in front of Iyas, and even He Meng had vanished completely.
Panicked, Iyas looked around, but saw only a pure white space, gleaming bright.
No one there, and nothing at all.
Iyas tilted her head, puzzled:
"What's going on?
Am I dreaming, has nothing happened yet, is it all just my imagination?
It can't be, it shouldn't be like this..."
Iyas was utterly perplexed.
Suddenly, she felt like she swallowed something from thin air, and it seemed like she could hear sounds again, very noisy.
As she raised her head, the once pure white sky now had dazzling chandeliers, extremely glaring.
The place she stood was no longer a corridor, but a small, unnoticed corner of the elegant restaurant.
The nobles had begun dining, Chilom, having changed clothes, was engaging in a friendly conversation with the country's Second Prince, and the Eldest Prince arrived with his fiancée, toasting with Chilom.
Chilom excused himself with, "I have something important to say later," and walked straight to the center of the restaurant.
"Huh? Huh?"
Iyas's mind was in a mess, feeling as if part of the plot was missing.
"Where's He Meng? He Meng must know what happened..."
Iyas searched for He Meng but couldn't find his human form, yet noticed a red scarf mysteriously appeared around her neck.
Touching the scarf with her hand, incredibly, Iyas felt the scarf was alive; it was He Meng.
