Isecant - Party based LitRPG-lite / Progression adventure

Speed catch up and a letter from myself to you.

Maelos has made his way off Maliterr to an unfamiliar planet. Clashing with a mysterious individual that matched him in combat.

The party returned to the surface in a hut far west. Were they saved by someone? MC swore he saw a person…

The party learned about the origins of the Colossi, finding remnants of their past within a hill range, after clashing with cultists of Kaiser.

In their absence, they have learned that Gobheads and Mandems seem to be getting smarter and have destroyed Grindo town.

Traveling to Isaac's Shanti, the makeshift hippie town, they encounter the ever-dangerous Edgelord, who they barely escape from.

The vegeflostrosity: Dillee saves the party, though just barely, and joins them as an additional tank.

A legion of Gobheads tries an ambush, resulting in a big fight. They learn afterwards that the Gobheads have gained access to the sentient system somehow.

Traveling again, they encounter a group of refugees in the underpass, who inform them that several citizens have been kidnapped and taken to Castle Un Nom Générique under the orders of King Blau.

The party splits into two trios: Wardi, Rhua, and Lucy. MC, Horace, and Dillee.

Wardi's trio learn that things have gotten strange around the smaller locations under the kingdom's control. The guards seem to be mindlessly following orders.

As they eventually break into the castle, they learn the king has gone mad; very few have avoided the mind corruption. Wardi's trio breaks several members of staff out, but they themselves are caught by the king at the last minute.

This results in them having to play a children's-style party game for his own enjoyment. It quickly turns physically painful for the trio and the king's participants.

As the fight wages on, an unexpected individual makes an appearance. A truly formidable foe, far beyond the trio's capabilities.

MC and his two companions are trying to continue with the request. They become side-tracked when they enter the infamous Spooks Woods.

The Hee-Hee'er follows them around whilst they are travelling the peaceful woods, until they hear crying coming from within a cabin that they were sure never used to be there.

The cabin turned out to be a trap, and they were drawn into a lunatic's pocket dungeon. Inside they meet two people that have come from elsewhere in the universe, forced in by the owner.

As they travel around a little, they are met by a group of heroes. Dion Slimmy Kryptic, Bo Bounce, Oolong Oblong, and Grinzy. They learn that they came from Earth, and it comes as a surprise to the trio.

Grouping up, they reluctantly fight their way through the pocket dungeon, fighting ghosts and supernatural horrors that are a cakewalk to deal with due to their combined powers and equipment.

The pocket dungeon master continuously tries to make things more difficult but is incapable; he forced in the wrong targets this time. The group defeats him, but he reveals his true form, a powerful lich, that collapses the dungeon, forcing them to retreat or be trapped and killed.

The trio manage to escape to Maliterr, and they say goodbye to Dion and her group that return to Earth.

Wardi's trio and the kingdom desperately try to fight off the mysterious individual. Many are killed instantly by his devastating attacks. Including the captain of the guard, Edward.

A combined effort manages to take him down, but he is revived by the mark of Serilia. He goads the alliance in his native tongue, which none can understand.

The colossi Bompeeyo enters the battle. The individual and colossi speak to each other in an unfamiliar language. And began to fight after a tense exchange.

He absorbs an abomination, growing in strength and revealing a new form. Yet he still is unable to fight the Colossi.

The foe is blasted away, saved by his companions hiding in a moon above Maliterr. Bompeeyo leaves without speaking to anyone else there. The kingdom is in ruins, and four of the tenner's make an appearance:

Barry Bernard - Rank 9 Emcee Wotters - Rank 4 Stonker - Rank 5 Glad Laks - Rank 7

I figured it would be better to be more direct, so I'm writing this after the catch-up.

This is not a plea for sympathy, views, followers, etc. I just want to be upfront about my situation and to ease the reality of other authors and readers on RR that many of us are in a similar spot, though likely at different ends of the spectrum, experiencing difficulties in their lives.

After a long 15 months or so of getting every piece of paper approved. I married and emigrated from my home country in October last year. Wedding and honeymoon bliss were able to kick-start Isecant into existence. Something I'll cherish forever.

However, the realities of going to a country where English is not the native language really became a difficulty in my life, and while I learned much in my time there, other issues arose that put a strain on married life. Particularly involving work.

Sadly, it's meant I had to return to my home country exactly eight days ago from this date. Alone and heartbroken, hoping for things to be resolved. I was desperately hoping that my return wouldn't impact my mental health, but alas, it absolutely did.

A job was offered to me, which prompted my speedy return, and then they ghosted me after I returned. Plans had crumbled for where I could live. And the prospect of being bankrupt and homeless was inches away. The kindness of my childhood friend and his partner has helped me tremendously in all this, giving me a bed and a roof over my head while I try to piece my life back together. As has the kindness of my friends in the north of my country, who have offered help where possible. Shoutout to Haych - the wandering repairman, who has been manically checking up on me daily since I emigrated and came back. I'm fortunate to have such a great circle around me, and family has been able to help also, but I know it's not always the case for others.

Waking up without the two in my life I adored the most is hard. Routines and change are so different from what I had, and the prospect of needing to work when your head is in the gutter is a steaming pile of shite when you need time to recalibrate to everything again. It is amazing how many things really hit you with these things. Sights, smells, the people you pass by. It's a sensory overload.

I can't deny that Isecant's progress has been decimated due to everything that's happened. Brain fog claims me even on the best of days, among the breakdowns of everything that's happened.

The weekly chapters are still being written, though they are taking me far, FAR longer than I like to write and have been supported by a few of the Horace bonus chapters that I had stored away.

My plans to hammer dozens of chapters out have been shot to shit, though, to put it bluntly. I have managed to write a few for a rainy day, though I didn't want it to be like this.

Isecant is one of the single-digit number of things that is keeping me going, that's keeping me happy. I must keep going; it's a world I believe in and want others to see.

Life-changing events aren't necessarily life-ending; it's important to remember that. You can keep pushing on; you must give things time. Whether that means you spend a few months downing a tub of cookie dough ice cream daily and wondering how you have all this sudden girth around the waist or end up on medications to manage things, you must do what you need to.

Listen to yourself, touch grass, make sure to wash, brush your teeth, and shower. Also, do try to eat a vegetable/healthily here and there. I love fudge; it is the best vegetable. Lubjub <3
