Bonus chapter - An unexpected Horace story XX

Horace and Labaley casually walked to the weapons rack like a superstore had a sale on. Only the things on sale were lethal weapons. Horace pointed towards the crossbow, grinning at it as if it's the best thing ever made.

"Ey, lah, am not using that fookin thing. I'll just end up shooting my own eye out reloading."

Horace scoffed and staggered at her refusal.

"Bruh, deadass, it don't work like that in this world. You can do it repeatedly before ya lose an eye. Trust me, my mom told me she did it to some low-level idiot in Kittup City."

This guy. Does it look like I fookin know where Kittup City is? I've been here FIVE MINUTES.

"Horace, I'm not from here, remember? I don't even know where I am currently. Anyway, this is something I do know. Me aunt got me one on her holiday overseas."

She pointed at a boomerang. Horace sighed. What she thought it was and what it REALLY was… Complete opposites.

"No cap, that's a tough one to use. Have ya figured out Kaha yet? I wouldn't bother if ya don't know how to use that."

He flashed a smile warm enough to melt butter. Labaley's patience hung by a thread though.

"You know what… I'm taking it. You're teaching me when we aren't in class. Good luck."

"Wait, me? Bruh, I'll show you how it's done, fo-shizzle!" Gleaming at becoming a teacher to his new friend.

Boomerang-thing girl and crossbow superstar Horace, headed over to Jason and the others.

"What took you lot so long? We've not got all day, and I'm starving." Jason cried, as if he had anywhere better to be.

"Yes, you do!" Labaley growled, "You're getting paid for this. I'm not familiar with Maliterr am I? Give me a break, THANKS."

Woah, kid, I was just teasing… Jason thought, suddenly wearing the expression of someone caught between surviving a new world and being flattened by truck-kun.

"Alrighty then. So, you're all in the ranged department. Kaha is our friend, though some of you might end up taking a subclass down the line. And Luth might become your other friend occasionally but not really."

Jason tried to continue, Labaley jumped in quick though.

"Yes, Labaley?" Jason said with a sigh.

"What's Karha and Looth?"

Serilia, give me strength… "Read this ASAP."

A small business card looking item flew at her, Horace caught it for her and handed it over. The front read:

'Hello, Terran! Welcome to your new world <Maliterr!>'

'Here is a quick guide to some new terms that will soon become available with the Sentient System 2.0 Take your time to read it, it may save your life!'

Labaley read it from start to finish. The card begun rapidly expanding.

"What the fuck is it doing?" Staring at the thing, which seemed like it had been possessed by some invisible entity.

"It's spatially charged. Expands into a bigger thing once you read the front. I'm super jelly, those things are fire, Lab." Horace beamed more as the card grew into an entire deck.

"Spacially charged?" she asked, glaring at him with a brain-dead look.

"SPATIALLY charged."

"Spell it for me."

"S.P.A.T.I…lee."

"Oh, ok. This world uses physics shit. I'm more of a theatre & graphic design girl. But I think I get it."

"What's a thee-at-er?" Horace asked, creaky mind cogs matched Horace's blank expression trying to decipher what the new word was.

Can I just go home already? Was all Labaley could think as she ignored her new friend, focusing on the flashcards instead.
