The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 512: Then Let's Duel!

Just as he was about to refuse, Sun Wukong quickly whispered, "Master, the people here value martial arts, so a little contest before we leave should be fine. If you're hesitant, could it be that you're fond of that girl and reluctant to leave?"

At this moment, Sun Wukong had completely grasped Xuanzang's temperament.

In the end, Xuanzang couldn't bring himself to refuse and could only whisper, "Wukong, you and your high mana, they mean no harm and are mere mortals. Don't use too much force."

Sun Wukong chuckled and said, "I didn't expect you to be so compassionate towards the fairer sex, Master."

Zhu Bajie chimed in, saying, "Heh heh, Master, this city is full of delicate young ladies. I, Old Pig, wouldn't bear to lay a hand on them."

On the other side, Queen Hippolyte didn't stop the master and disciples from discussing among themselves. After a while, she said, "I won't bully you. We'll have a best of three matches. If you win, you can go, but if you lose, you'll stay and work as draft animals."

Sun Wukong, brimming with confidence, agreed without hesitation.

The queen, as decisive as ever, had no shortage of duel arenas in the Daughter Country.

The two parties arranged to fight right on the streets, so the spectators were many. The duel arena quickly filled up with people eager to watch the match.

The contestants from the Journey to the West team were naturally Xuanzang's three disciples, while the Daughter Country sent their king, general, and state preceptor to the arena.

Without further ado, the duel began, with the state preceptor being the first to take the stage from the Daughter Country.

The state preceptor, although appearing scholarly, couldn't possibly be weak in a nation of warriors.

The representative from the Journey to the West team was Zhu Bajie.

Compared to the queen and others, the state preceptor looked slightly more delicate. Wearing half armor, wielding a spear and shield, she stepped onto the arena, while Zhu Bajie, not even bringing his rake, cheerfully ran up.

"Heh heh, little lady, don't be afraid. Old Pig is always tender-hearted towards beauties!"

The state preceptor crouched slightly, placing her shield in front, treating Zhu Bajie as if he were an unknown beast.

Zhu Bajie, seeing beauties, could hardly move, and while he might restrain himself with demons, he was utterly unable to do so with humans.

The state preceptor was no pushover. At her command, the duel began, and she lunged with her spear in anger.

Zhu Bajie was grinning, showing no intent to duel, swaying his hefty body just enough to dodge the thrust.

"Oh my dear sister, don't be so rough. Let's have a nice chat. Old Pig here is single and likes someone just like you."

The state preceptor, being part of a warrior nation, took dueling very seriously. Zhu Bajie's frivolous manner greatly enraged her.

With an angry roar, a crimson blood energy burst from her body, her speed suddenly increasing by three to four times. She swung her spear again, forcing Bajie to hastily call out his rake to block.

The state preceptor, realizing her strength wasn't prevailing, quickly abandoned the spear, smashing her shield into Zhu Bajie's belly.

Zhu Bajie, though powerful in his previous life, was now in a state of low mana and lacked the intent to fight.

After an "ouch," he stumbled back a few steps. The state preceptor, experienced in combat, seized the opportunity when Bajie was off balance, rushing forward and delivering a flying kick to his large pig head.

A jade-like foot? (It should be a jade foot, right?) with a calloused sole landed squarely on Bajie's big pig head, causing him to happily roll off the stage.

The first round, victory goes to the Daughter Country state preceptor.

Zhu Bajie showed no signs of disappointment from losing, sniffing the blood from his large nose, lying on the stage with a lecherous look, saying, "Sister, have you vented enough? How about stepping on my face a few more times with your foot!"

"Scram!"

Being scolded, Zhu Bajie wasn't upset. Instead, he happily ran back to the preparation area, contemplating not washing his face for at least half a month. No, maybe three months!

Sun Wukong looked at Zhu Bajie, speechless, and angrily tugged at his ear.

"You fool, you were once the Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy and you lost to a mortal!"

Zhu Bajie, not at all ashamed, gleefully replied, "You're just a monkey, what do you know about romance?"

Sun Wukong, hearing this, was so angry he wanted to hit someone!

But the second match was about to begin. Originally intending to participate himself, Wukong thought it better to let Sha Wujing go instead. Brother Sha is honest and surely won't be as tricky as the second brother.

Still, he advised, "Brother Sha, don't hold back, or we'll end up working as draft animals here."

Sha Wujing was eager to improve, being the one with the least options among the four disciples.

"Rest assured, elder brother."

With that, he charged up with the Demon Suppressing Staff, facing off against the Great General.

The Great General's armor was more comprehensive than the state preceptor's, and she seemed even more experienced in combat.

Unfortunately, despite being able to utilize blood energy in battle, she was no match for Sha Wujing. Even the weakest in cultivation, how could a martial artist defeat a cultivator?

A few strikes from Sha Wujing and the general was knocked off the stage.

Sun Wukong was delighted. Though the third disciple was weak, his attitude was much better than that pig-headed fellow.

Zhu Bajie was somewhat disappointed, thinking that perhaps staying in the Daughter Country as a draft animal wouldn't be too bad after all.

Finally, the competitors were the Queen of the Daughter Country and Sun Wukong. The queen, having inherited some of Ares' divine power, was incomparable to ordinary warriors, but Sun Wukong was anything but ordinary.

Having witnessed his elder brother's overwhelming power with the great axe, he felt inadequate fighting with just a stick, perceiving himself as insignificant and unimpressive.

Now on the stage, he started with a Power Splitting Huashan, enlarging the front of his Jingu Bang, and smashed it down on the stage with a bang, shattering it instantly. Despite the queen's skill, she had no room to showcase it and immediately retreated.

The others, seeing dust rising, feared for the queen's safety and rushed to surround her. As the dust settled, the queen was seen sitting on the ground unharmed, though a bit disheveled.

Sun Wukong hadn't harmed anyone, simply relishing in the overwhelming power, laughing indulgently.

The surrounding warriors from the Daughter Country, seeing that their queen was fine and witnessing Sun Wukong's might, began to cheer, spreading from the surrounding warriors to the entire arena.

Sun Wukong stood in the midst of the crowd, laughing to the sky, utterly enchanted by the feeling.

Though defeated, the Queen of Xiliang, Hippolyte, also cheered for Sun Wukong, a strange feeling stirring in her heart as she watched the monkey.

This monkey is quite extraordinary!

Three to two, the Westward Team wins!

Xuanzang, watching Sun Wukong laugh, also smiled. Learning Buddhism isn't just about suppressing one's nature. Seeing Wukong happy, as a master, he felt joy for Wukong too.
