North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 653: Arrest

Jimmy saw Agent Lars put handcuffs on him, holstered the Glock, and first went to the back door to shout to the agents outside: "It's safe now." Then he came over to Michael and asked, "The two girls who were with you last night, where are they?"

Michael: "I don't understand what you're talking about."

Jimmy reached out and grabbed Michael's arm: "Agent Lars, let me talk to him alone."

Lars immediately said: "No, no, Jimmy, take him back for interrogation. Since he fired a shot, he definitely can't escape, don't worry."

Jimmy looked at Lars. After a few seconds, he nodded; it was somewhat troublesome to interrogate in violation in front of Lars.

He tossed Michael into Lars' car, and the agent with her sat in the back seat watching Michael. Lars first took Michael back to the office. Jimmy called the forensics team to search Michael's home. After the backup agents arrived at the scene, he drove back to the office.

Outside the interrogation room, Lars and the previous agent were already questioning him inside.

Michael's original handcuffs had been removed, and now he was shackled to a fixed ring on the table with chained handcuffs, specially used in interrogation rooms to restrict a suspect's movements better. They're safer and more durable than regular handcuffs, making it virtually impossible to escape without a key.

The chair where the suspect sits is also fixed to the ground with expansion bolts. For special suspects, in addition to handcuffs, fixed leg irons can be added to ensure the suspect is firmly restrained in place. However, Michael didn't need this at the moment.

Lars stood in front of the table, and the agent next to her recorded with paper and pen. Lars repeatedly asked questions, and Jimmy listened for a while before giving up. Conventional interrogation takes too long to get results.

"Knock, knock," Jimmy tapped the door and opened it from the outside, walking into the interrogation room, "Agent Lars, let me do it."

The three people in the interrogation room all turned to look at Jimmy. Jimmy beckoned, "You all go out first, let me ask him." Then, he looked at Lars, his right index and middle fingers pressing together, and drew near his neck, simultaneously glancing up at the monitoring camera on the ceiling of the interrogation room.

Lars' expression hardly changed; she just asked softly, "Are you sure?"

Jimmy nodded, and Lars gestured to the agent. The two left. Jimmy continued to stare at the monitoring camera above.

Michael looked at Jimmy, utterly unresponsive, and he too looked at the camera above. Suddenly, the camera's indicator light went out, and Jimmy turned to Michael: "Alright, now we can have a proper talk."

He pulled a chair to the side, slowly unbuttoned his suit, and hung it on the chair before walking towards Michael.

Michael looked terrified, "What are you doing? This is against the rules, I'm going to report you."

When Jimmy walked beside him, he simply reached out and grabbed his shoulder, and Michael cried out in alarm, struggling and screaming "Ah" as he did. Jimmy's strength couldn't be shaken off by him. Jimmy held his shoulder with his left hand and pressed his head against the table with his right hand, "Where are they?"

Michael twisted his face to one side, his head pinned to the table, struggling deeply, but unable to move his head.

Seeing that he wasn't answering, Jimmy gradually increased the pressure with his right hand, "You have no idea who you're dealing with. Tell me, where are they? Who took them?"

Michael said painfully, "I don't understand what you're talking about."

Jimmy: "You will understand." He slightly relaxed the pressure of his right hand, and when Michael's head lifted slightly from the tabletop, he pressed down forcefully again, and Michael cried out louder.

Jimmy listened to his cries gradually quieten, then withdrew his right hand, pulling Michael's left hand back and forcing him to bump against the back of the chair, "Don't expect to escape yourself, you think not speaking will avert those charges?"

He gently leaned his head close to Michael's ear, "You won't live to enter prison, and even if you do, you'll never come out alive."

After Jimmy finished speaking, he gave Michael two seconds to think, then suddenly pressed his head against the tabletop again, "Bang," "Ah," whatever Michael was thinking was cleared away by this act, leaving only the pain.

Jimmy: "Tell me, where did you take them?"

In the interrogation room, Michael definitely couldn't be left with obvious signs of abuse, and Jimmy acted with some restraint, causing pain but not breaking the skin or using the table corners or edges to leave very noticeable pressure marks—relatively undetectable when the camera was turned back on later.

After several painful impacts, Michael was somewhat disoriented. Jimmy pressed with continuous questions, "Where are the women you took from the bar yesterday? Where is your contact?"

After a while, Jimmy, wearing his suit again, came out of the interrogation room. Agent Lars had been standing beside the observation window for quite a bit, and seeing Jimmy wave at the observation window, she came over to let him out.

Agent Lars frowned and asked, "Jimmy, is this all right?"

Jimmy: "If anyone has a complaint, let them come to me. You guys can go in for the questioning now."

Jimmy buttoned his suit as he walked out, "I'll handle the situation outside; you guys finish the interrogation process."

Agent Lars quickly said, "Wait, I'll go with you."

Jimmy: "Don't you need to stay here for the process?"

Agent Lars: "Others can handle it too. Let me make some arrangements."
