A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 579 - The Sevenfold Rainbow VII

Chapter 579: The Sevenfold Rainbow VII

Bzzt!

A lightning arc appeared beneath Grimm’s feet. Grimm went deeper into the direction of the ancient rainbow light.

Grimm’s mental strength was reduced from 196 points to 162 points, a reduction of thirty points. Now, Grimm could only use one-sixth of his mental strength, 27 points to be exact.

Thus, Grimm’s destruction spell that could previously deal 4,500 points worth of damage had now been dropped to 3,500 points. It was quite a stark difference.

If Grimm were to trigger another round of Immortal Body, he would no longer pose any threat to an ordinary Level-3 creature. Moreover, any ancient Level-3 creature could easily finish him off.

Therefore, as mystical as the Nightmare Sorcerers were, they were not invincible.

An ordinary Nightmare Sorcerer would not possess an elemental power as strong as Grimm’s. As long as they could kill a Nightmare Sorcerer once, the second time would be a lot easier. Furthermore, their gaping weakness against any form of sealing spells was a major Achilles’ heel.

“It’s no longer giving chase…”

After fleeing for quite a while using the elemental teleportation spell, and after making sure that the ancient Bloodcoral beast had given up its chase, Grimm breathed a sigh of relief.

He quickly stopped to take out his crystal ball and his null world stone. The stone melted after a magical charge was directed to it. With Grimm’s Principal Will of the Sorcerers World, the stone was connected to a large crystal ball of a distant plane.

It was the heart of the Void Fortress, the main node of the Void Fortress of the Sorcerers World.

Compared to previous times, the Battle Command room was much more peaceful. The elite Sorcerers of the Battle Command were leisurely chatting away. Some of them were even feeding their pets.

Bzzzt! There was a beat in the heart of the fortress for a moment, startling some nearby Sorcerers who quickly turned their attention to it.

A pale-spiral mask appeared with a pitch-black background behind it. A pair of fire and ice elemental eyes lit up brilliantly. There was a faint image of the Sabbatic Goat Staff. It was Grimm.

“Sorcerer Grimm.”

The old Sorcerer who sported a white goatee nodded at Grimm.

Within the expedition this time round, other than the four Stigmata Sorcerers, only Grimm, who had acquired a Rank-1 Honor Badge, had the privilege of directly issuing a mission to the Battle Command.

“Hmm.”

Grimm nodded calmly in a stern manner, giving off a sense of mystery. He then stated the coordinates within the Magnetite World.

“I have discovered an Evil Blood ancient creature around this coordinate that has a Magnetite Star Core with it. It is capable of performing super-powerful attacks. I hereby request the Void Fortress to assign a mission to the Level-3 Demon-Hunter Sorcerers in order to capture the Magnetite Star Core with a Rank-3 Honor Badge and two hundred Sorcerer Essences as reward.”

The old Sorcerer was stunned by the mention of the Magnetite Star Core. He quickly replied, “Understood, mission assignment confirmed.”

Bzzt! After terminating the crystal ball’s connection to the heart of the Void Fortress, Grimm revealed a cold grin. He proceeded to fly deeper into the dark cavern in search of the Sevenfold Rainbow light.

If the mission were to be accomplished, Grimm would earn at least a thousand Sorcerer Essences once the expedition was complete.

The value of the Magnetite Star Core that would come into the possession of the Stigmata Sorcerers would be beyond imagination.

“Taking into account the seven vials of Evil Blood and the two ancient creatures that I’ve slain, there shouldn’t be a problem for me to collect one thousand seven hundred and fifty Sorcerer Essences. Now that my power has weakened, I need to be more careful moving forward. Time to fully focus on searching for the ancient seal of the ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow.”

A destructive spell with 4,500 points worth of damage would kill an ordinary Level-3 creature with a direct hit. Even a grazing shot would severely wound the creature!

But now that his damage has been reduced to 3,500 points, it was only at the top range of an ordinary Level-3 creature’s all-out attack. It was no longer as indestructible as before.

Blending into the shadows, Grimm carefully flew toward the dark cavern.

Three days later.

Covered by the Darkness Pool, Grimm melded into the darkness as he flew across the cave in mid-air.

An old ancient creature that was unaware of his presence lied on the floor. Its eyes were soulless; its skin wrinkly. Its life was coming to an end.

One could almost read the creature’s life experience from its eyes. It was reminiscing the tiny details of the memories that it had experienced in life.

This must be the oldest ancient creature that had the Evil Blood. Still, being cautious, Grimm did not stop, instead he flew away quietly, leaving the creature’s final moments undisturbed.

***

A fortnight later.

Buzz… buzz…

Two three-meter long ancient black-and-white-striped giant mosquitoes were leading millions of fresh Bloodprint mosquitoes in pursuit of Grimm.

His Darkness Pool disguise and soundhide were ineffective against the giant striped mosquitoes. Grimm was like a beacon in the night, locked on by these creatures with unknown senses.

While he was fleeing, Grimm utilized the Star Stone to minimize his weight. The negating forces of the Gravity Stone aided his escape. He casted the thunder teleportation many times.

On the other hand, beneath the Mask of Truth, Grimm was pleasantly surprised!

Undoubtedly, these striped giant mosquitoes possessed a new sense unknown to Grimm.

If Grimm could conduct an autopsy and develop the results, perhaps he could come up with a new way of sensing objects that was comparable to the heat vision of the Infinite Eye.

In the past, when Grimm was still a Sorcerer-Apprentice, Master Peranos passed on the scroll of the Infinite Eye to Grimm. It was a gesture of passing down the knowledge of the Sorcerers World. Grimm was asked to pass on the scroll to future generations as well.

When Netherheart passed on the scroll to Peranos, there was only the Mystic Eye in the Infinite Eye skillset. The Boundless Eye was a later addition by Peranos.

Therefore, if Grimm were to pass on the knowledge scroll to his disciple, it would be embarrassing if he did not add on to the knowledge!

Perhaps the striped giant mosquitoes would bring something to Grimm?

The chase went on for two hourglasses. Since Grimm was still hidden to most of the inhabitants of the cave, the chase did not cause a big commotion.

Slowly, the striped giant mosquitoes stopped giving chase. Even the two ancient mosquitoes abandoned their pursuit.

Within his hand were two Bloodprint giant mosquitoes flapping their wings about in an attempt to escape. Yet, their attempts were futile. Grimm had locked them up in a cage.

A brief moment later, Grimm opened up a Dimensional Gap that was connected to the laboratory of the Demon-Hunter Castle and placed the two prized living specimens inside.

***

Two months later!

A mystical area that was cut off from the rest of the world appeared beneath him. There were mists everywhere made out of dew, like the violent waves of the ocean that covered the land. It was like a foggy dream world.

The moisture in the air was a bit overpowering.

Within the droplets of the fog, there was a bunch of Sevenfold Rainbow light congregating in the mystical open space below, shining in all their glory.
