She shook her head.
In the end, she was still too kind-hearted, unwilling to abandon these Great Ming citizens who once worshiped her. Other Divine beings would have long abandoned the West Bull New Continent.
The Willow Leaf Boat continued forward, traveling an unknown distance until a colossal tree appeared in sight.
The giant tree stood in the Vast Ocean, towering high beyond measure, with expansive leaves spanning hundreds of acres.
"This tree is called Fusang, also a type of mulberry. The Heavenly Silkworm lives on it."
Lady Houtu urged the Willow Leaf Boat to approach the giant tree, but stopped about a hundred miles away, smiling, "I cannot get too close; else, I might be discovered and lose face. The task of searching for the Heavenly Silkworm requires Your Majesty to personally handle it."
Chen Shi gazed at the Fusang Tree and asked, "Does this tree belong to someone?"
The lady laughed, "Where is the owner? It's wild. After a Golden Crow was shot down, its body fell into the sea, and the Fusang seed took root and sprouted, growing into this wild tree. It has no owner, so you can rest assured."
Chen Shi probed, "Is there indeed a Heavenly Silkworm on it?"
The lady nodded with a smile, "I am well aware of all the treasures in the Xuanhuang Sea. There is indeed a Heavenly Silkworm here."
Chen Shi probed again, "Is the Heavenly Silkworm dangerous?"
"Very gentle."
The lady couldn't help but laugh, "Even the True King of the West Bull New Continent can be afraid?"
Chen Shi laughed, "In unfamiliar places, I dare not act recklessly. The lady waits here; I shall return soon."
The lady said, "Do you know how to find the Heavenly Silkworm?"
Chen Shi leapt from the small boat, smiling, "Look for mulberry leaves with gnaw marks to find it!"
The lady watched him fly towards the Fusang Tree and praised, "Truly clever."
As Chen Shi neared the Fusang Tree, he suddenly felt it filled with Pure Yang True Qi, intensely scorching, akin to the sun, exceedingly mysterious.
"Is there such a treasure tree in the world?"
He ascended all the way up, searching for mulberry leaves nibbled by the Heavenly Silkworm, but despite his extensive search, he could find none.
"The lady said there is a Heavenly Silkworm here; she certainly wouldn't deceive me!"
He continued to ascend, searching countless mulberry leaves, and suddenly saw a few new branches up ahead with tender green leaves, one of which had gnaw marks.
Chen Shi felt joy in his heart and flew towards it. As he approached the leaf, he saw a small thatched cottage on it, with some clothes hung out to dry outside, and pots and pans and other items.
He searched around, unable to find the Heavenly Silkworm, thinking, "From the gnaw marks, the Heavenly Silkworm must be quite large! Did it become bored and go to other mulberry leaves?"
Just as he was about to leave, a little girl emerged from the cottage, around seven or eight years old, with hair already turned snow white, tied into two ponytails hanging down to her rear.
She wore a white dress, her eyebrows were also white, and she had a collar around her neck, to which was attached a silver chain as thick as a pinky finger.
Seeing Chen Shi, she seemed quite surprised, perhaps curious about how he got there.
"Greetings, maiden," Chen Shi saluted.
The little girl quickly returned the greeting, saying, "Greetings, big brother."
Chen Shi noticed the chain around her neck extending into the cottage for unknown reasons, and he asked, "I came from afar in search of the Heavenly Silkworm. Do you know where it has gone?"
The little girl smiled, "I am the Heavenly Silkworm. What does big brother seek me for?"
Chen Shi was stunned and suddenly moved forward, coming up behind her, pulling the chain forcefully, but unable to budge it.
The little girl laughed, "I've been tied here for several years, unable to pull the chain..."
"Crack!"
Chen Shi urged a sword light, cutting down the entire mulberry leaf and lifting it with both hands, carrying away the little girl along with the cottage, and swiftly departed.
The little girl stood on the mulberry leaf, bewildered, suddenly turning her head to see they were getting farther and farther from the Fusang Tree.
"Oh no!"
She quickly scrambled to the edge of the leaf, calling down loudly to Chen Shi below, "My master knows you took me; he'll kill you!"
