Chapter 263: Suffering Gathering Annihilation and Path

Daoist Guang Cheng's Yin Yang Two Extremes Sword transforms the sword completely into Sword Light, achieving near light speed.

The sword speed is achieved due to its own form, thus it's impossible to gain extreme power with extreme speed, but this does not mean that the power of the Yin Yang Two Extremes Sword is weak.

The Sword Light intertwines, and the people present only see two beams of red and blue light sweeping like flood dragons, crisscrossing and cutting the Awakened's body. The magnificent Sword Light remains on the retina, suddenly feeling the sharpness crossing horizontally.

"Stop."

Jiang Li suddenly spoke, as a red Sword Light halted before him, with brilliance flowing, revealing an ancient sword body.

On the other side, Daoist Guang Cheng used his Divine Thought to forcibly pull another Sword Light.

Subsequently, the sound of clashing resonated, belatedly reaching everyone's ears.

"The first move."

Daoist Guang Cheng gazed solemnly at the Awakened and slowly spoke.

In less than an instant, the first move had concluded.

At this time, the Awakened still sat cross-legged under the Bodhi Tree, his form unmoving. The sleeves of his arms were torn, exposing arms flowing with faint golden light, and two sword scars remained on the outer sides of these arms.

The crowd, seeing this, instinctively deduced the previous move.

——The Yin Yang Two Extremes Sword crisscrossed like flood dragons, cutting the Awakened's body. The point of contact was precisely the arms. Normally, facing such a twisting attack, the arms and body of the target would be severed; under the intertwining strike of Yin and Yang, theoretically, even a third grade should not ignore it.

Back then, Manjusri, before achieving the Tathagata Undestructible True Body, also blocked sword with sword rather than facing the sharpness head-on.

However, such sharpness cut into the Awakened's body, yet only left two sword scars.

Indeed there are injuries, but not significant.

The twin swords scissor, after leaving two sword scars, were rebounded; one sword slashed towards Jiang Li, and the other flew towards the sky.

This was the result of the Awakened not defending and actively bearing this move.

"'Buddha's Scripture of the Strongman Moving Mountains.'"

Jiang Li, observing the halted sword artifact before him, perceiving its sharpness at the same time, softly said, "The Awakened had also cultivated this Buddha Land Body Refinement Divine Skill and achieved great success."

On the other side, the Buddha Land members also noticed the robustness of the Awakened's physical body, each with slightly changed expressions, whether in joy, surprise, or impassive stillness.

As for those showing worry and apprehension, they were the unremarkable ones, unable to conceal their emotions. At least as the leaders opposing the Awakened—the two Great Masters showed no negative demeanor.

"'Buddha's Scripture of the Strongman Moving Mountains' is indeed the supreme Body Refining Divine Skill of Buddha Land," Daoist Guang Cheng retracted the Yin Yang Two Extremes Sword, saying, "Today, I have truly witnessed it."

The Awakened does not cultivate External Dharma Form, naturally not possessing the Bodhisattva Undying Body or Tathagata Undestructible True Body, yet his physical body is not inferior to the Tathagata Undestructible True Body at all.

To this, the Awakened only smiled slightly, saying, "Living long does have its advantages."

Although appearing youthful, this individual was actually an old monster, reaching Third Grade Perfection a hundred years ago; in terms of age, perhaps even older than the Great Venerable.

During such a long time, the Awakened obviously wasn't just chanting sutras and meditating without cultivation, especially in the past century, he was constantly in seclusion. No one knows how many cultivation techniques he honed during this period.

Compared to the Awakened, Daoist Guang Cheng is still somewhat young, not yet a hundred years old.

Although time is not the measure of prowess, for a figure like the Awakened, the benefits brought by time are considerable.

"Then let's see the second move."

Daoist Guang Cheng did not respond much further, merely raising his hand, and instantly his body seemed to tower to the sky, a Big Seal appeared under his palm.

Space at this moment appeared stretched, Daoist Guang Cheng's figure rising was not an illusion, but a visual change caused by spatial distortion.

This Big Seal is the Sky Flipping Seal, formed by Daoist Guang Cheng using Divine Skills intertwining with Magic Artifacts.

The Sky Flipping Seal smashed down, and the pulled space collapsed like a high-rise building crumbling layer by layer.

Antique, hefty, tyrannical, awe-inspiring, irresistible!

As if the sky dome collapsed and heavens and earth rejoined, an immensely furious and overbearing force pressed down, causing most present to abruptly change expressions.

"Chief!" Guangli Bodhisattva almost rose to intervene, but was intercepted by a small figure.

Yin Tulong glanced sidelong, his icy gaze sending shivers down Guangli Bodhisattva's spine.

Dragon Clan Killer just happens to restrain Guangli Bodhisattva, the White Dragon.

And at this time, regardless of external intervention, it was essentially too late for anyone to act.

The Big Seal crushed the space and descended straight onto the Awakened's Heavenly Spirit. Obviously massive as the sky, yet shrinking to the size of a head while falling, though Daoist Guang Cheng remained ten steps away from the Awakened, it seemed as if he pressed the Big Seal onto the Awakened's Heavenly Spirit with his palm.

The contraction and dislocation of space induced a discomfort in viewers, a reaction from the confusion in perception, while the power of the Sky Flipping Seal fully descended upon the Awakened's head.

"Boom!"

A muffled sound rang out, the ground beneath the Buddha Land sank nearly three feet, causing the Lotus Platform to sway and Mountain of Mind and Heart to quake, but again held firmly by an Invisible Power.

As for the Awakened, his seven orifices appeared bloodied simultaneously, making one doubt whether his brain remained intact.

No matter how strong one's body might be, facing such forceful and domineering pressure, it's difficult to guarantee being unscathed; no matter how trained the body, it cannot match the uniform strength of the brain and bones.

In the end, there is still a difference in strength.

Moreover, the Awakened did not actively defend, relying entirely on their physical body to withstand the attack.

"Tsk, if Old Sun had been smashed a few times by the Sky Flipping Seal back in the day, I wouldn't dare to say I'd be unharmed." Sun Wukong said, baring his teeth on the side.

This monkey had once received punishment in the Heavenly Court, enduring thunder strikes, electric shocks, knife cuts, and axe chops, yet none could subdue him, until he was placed in the Furnace of Eight Trigrams by the Old Lord. Had the Sky Flipping Seal been used then, he may not have been able to endure it.

"But the Awakened did endure it after all," Jiang Li noted.

The Buddha Land Space developed by the Awakened had not vanished, nor did it show signs of collapse, indicating that the Awakened was far from being on the brink of death.

Even with the Sky Flipping Seal smashing their head, one must admit that the Awakened's skull was exceptionally hard.

When the Sky Flipping Seal disappeared and Daoist Guang Cheng withdrew his hand, the Awakened appeared to be in a terrible state, yet remained graceful and unmoved.

"It's time for the third move."

The Awakened looked at Daoist Guang Cheng and said calmly.

"For the third move, once it's over, the karma will be resolved."

Daoist Guang Cheng spoke in a deep voice, and the Yin Yang Two Extremes Sword flew into his hand, merging into one.

A sword shadow appeared in Daoist Guang Cheng's hand, then he calmly thrust it out.

There were no Miracle Techniques or Refined Sword Forms to be seen, only a single thrust of a sword, with a sword tip that could pierce anything, dividing everything in its path, destroying all directions.

The light itself was cut upon meeting this sword, leaving only a long, dark scar in one's vision. As Divine Thought touched it, one's mind was split, and even the Primordial Spirit seemed as if it would fracture.

Such a terrifying sword advanced straight ahead, and the dark scar representing the sword shadow penetrated the Awakened's body without the slightest pause.

"Fellow Daoist Guangcheng's Slaying Immortal Sword Dao has indeed improved by more than a notch compared to before," Jiang Li commented upon seeing this.

The Tathagata Undestructible True Body from back then couldn't withstand this sword; neither could the Great Success Body from the "Buddha's Scripture of the Strongman Moving Mountains." The sword pierced through the Awakened's chest and then suddenly disappeared.

The split light also returned to normal, with only a slight discordance indicating that scene had ever existed.

Daoist Guang Cheng stood with his hands behind his back, the blood on his palm hidden by his five fingers, and looked at the Awakened, slowly saying, "From this day forth, your karma with Yuxu Temple is entirely written off."

Meanwhile, the Awakened remained seated in meditation, a black wound appearing on the white attire, penetrating from the chest to the back, entirely black within, showing no sign of blood, only void.

The sword had wounded not only the physical body but also the Primordial Spirit.

As a result, the Awakened's aura weakened to the extreme, seemingly on the verge of annihilation.

Yet in the next moment, layer upon layer of Buddha Wheels appeared behind the Awakened, three in total, interlocking with each other, each engraved with four brilliant golden characters. As the wheels rotated, the rings interplayed, with a faint golden light emerging on the Awakened's body.

Suffering!

Gathering!

Annihilation!

Path!

The brilliant golden characters projected their meaning into the eyes of all who observed, and also infused the subtle principles of emptiness and silence onto the Awakened.

Visibly, the injuries on the Awakened's body vanished, from the sword scars on the arms to the bloodstains in the seven orifices, even the wound on the chest.

One after another, the scars disappeared, only halting at the last wound from the Slaying Immortal Sword, merely closing the scar and restoring the white garment.

In the blink of an eye, the Awakened sat unscathed beneath the Bodhi Tree.

"The Four Holy Truths of Suffering, Gathering, Annihilation, and Path: to see these Four Truths is to break the cycle of life and death."

Sun Wukong, observing this scene, was no longer frivolous, instead explaining in a mild solemnity to Jiang Li: "The so-called Awakened is one who is enlightened, transcending life and death. Understanding the suffering of the world, gathering the cause of that suffering, ending the afflictions and bindings of the Three Realms, and achieving the path of Nirvana."

Sun Wukong, indeed a scholarly monkey, knowledgeable in the Three Religions, upon observing the Awakened's actions, had discerned the principle.

Jiang Li, hearing this, also solemnly said, "Speak plainly."

Though he too was well-versed in the Three Religions, Buddhist, Daoist, and Confucian, he found discussing Buddhist Law with the Victorious Battle Buddha lacking in certain respects.

What Sun Wukong had said he could mostly understand, but he found it difficult to associate it with the current state of the Awakened.

"Any suffering known by the Awakened, gathered by him, severed by him, cannot linger long upon him and will be extinguished by him," Sun Wukong rolled his eyes, explaining in simple, straightforward terms.

Immediately, Jiang Li, along with Gongsun Qingyue and the Primordial Lord Rain Master, understood.

Simply put, ninety-nine percent of the world's injuries could not linger on the Awakened for long, only failing to extinguish a mere fraction. That fraction of suffering was not yet understood by the Awakened, not yet severed.

For those less powerful than the Awakened, and without special means, the Awakened is effectively immortal.

'In a certain sense, even better at surviving than I am.'

Jiang Li thought he was already quite adept at enduring, with the Green Emperor Dao Fruit and Zhuang Zhou Dao Fruit considered perpetual and ever-revolutionary, yet he hadn't anticipated the emergence of such a master.

In certain aspects, the Awakened's Divine Skills even surpassed those of Jiang Li.
