Mana and Magic are present not only in the lands and the air but also in many life forms and substances. For example, plants, animals, and, most importantly, Magic Beasts carry, to varying degrees, traces of both Magic and Mana. While the Norms, much like the humans in our own world, value the nutritive qualities and taste of food above all else, Magirians and especially the Nobles have different priorities. For them, nutrition also serves as a means of replenishing one's Mana and Magic directly through harvested ingredients and meat.
Because of this, Magic Beasts were hunted with increasing persistence, sought not only for their flesh but also for the Mana and Magic rich materials they could provide to the Magirians. The rising demand turned over time the professions of Hunter and Adventurer into secure and respected ones. In time, Nagasmar's Royal Family and Nobles began enslaving not only Magic Beasts but also their fellow Magirians, exploiting them as living sources of Mana and Magic. When no legitimate cause existed for such treatment, convenient pretexts were fabricated.

Mana and Magic were also acquired through other, more dangerous methods. A most frightening and common one, which often invited Divine punishment, was the redirection or theft of Mana and Magic from neighboring lands. The first victims of such acts were the lower-class Commoners, who required less Mana and Magic feedback from their environment. Their residential districts were drained of both, often leaving only the dead behind. Among the casualties, children and the elderly, being the most needy and fragile, were the first to perish. Rebellions grew in number, and the repression by local authorities only intensified in response.
It is within this decaying Kingdom, one that had lost its moral compass, that our story unfolds—with a heroine officially sent by the Gods themselves to restore order to the chaos and to combat corruption in all its forms.
