Chapter 568 Twins_2

"You're doing it to stay alive," Black Crow's distorted voice seemed to offer comfort, "Even the Ya Sha Jin Sect wouldn't blame a poor soul for stealing just to survive."

"Poor soul, huh..." Ash cast a glance at the city below. Twin Mages, though few, were enough to locally overwhelm the Nature Army. However, due to the Hosted God of the Twins Sect hunting Silver Lamp, the Natural Sect held a stronger position in high-end combat power.

The city that Ash hadn't set foot in, which could be the most complete Divine Era city in Senluo, had turned into a killing field littered with bodies.

Ash turned his head; he had caught up with Igula and the others. Not far ahead was a trio of entangled, interweaving lights.

Without a doubt, the Twins Sect's Hosted God were also Twin Mages. Even though they weren't highly advanced in hosting gods, their tacit cooperation was enough to hang Silver Lamp out to dry.

After much waiting, he finally seized the opportunity to take advantage of someone's moment of weakness!

"Harvey, you carry Tamasi. You all help block Silver Lamp's escape routes."

"No." Black Crow flexed his elbow to reveal the Gray Fox Blade. "I'll deliver the fatal blow for you."

"Good."

Ash made a split-second decision, his pointed forehead gleaming with lightning, joining the fray like a wild wolf. No more words were needed when enemies met with fierce hostility; the moment Ash engaged with Silver Lamp, it was like thunder clashing with fire, creating waves of impact in the clouds!

The Twin Mages Hosted God may not have known Ash's origins, but seeing his strength and his attack on Silver Lamp, they silently coordinated with him. Regardless of who you are, as long as you're hitting Silver Lamp, you're like a brother to me, though born of different fathers.

The three Hosted Gods attacked like a storm. No matter how much space Silver Lamp had to maneuver in the air, she was soon being driven back, almost fleeing in panic. Just as her body's white flame grew weaker, like a candle in the wind, looking like she was about to be drained of blood for the first time, she suddenly increased her speed and charged straight toward the palace structure below!

The trio, Ash included, immediately pursued down, but one of the Twins blocked Ash, his eyes filled with unyielding determination: "You cannot enter!"

"But she—"

"She's almost done for. Borel is more than enough to handle her!"

In a flash, Ash realized he too had been used by Silver Lamp, "But she has multiple Great Skills. If you don't follow her, she'll use her full-powered Host God status to retaliate against your other half!"

If Ash hadn't shown up, it would mean they'd been dealt with by the Natural Sect—the chase would be over. But his appearance could also distract the Twins Hosted God's attention from her, lowering the difficulty of the main mission!

The face of the Twin Hosted God didn't change until a thunderous noise came from within the palace, causing his expression to turn to shock.

Upon entering, they found that not only were the palace guards all dead, but the other Twin was also lying in a pool of blood, pointing toward the end of the palace corridor!

There was a huge round hole, conspicuously present in the center of the palace, with Silver Lamp standing on its edge. Seemingly noticing their gaze, she waved at them leisurely and then leaped into the void.

Swoosh.

Ash turned into a bolt of lightning, crossing the entire palace corridor, with Tamasi pushing off his shoulder with force, shooting like an arrow towards Silver Lamp as she fell into the round hole!

Crack!

There was an invisible Barrier over the hole. Black Crow lay sprawled on top, surprisingly not falling through, with only the Gray Fox Blade piercing the Barrier. But by then, Silver Lamp had already disappeared into the lightless Abyss below!

Ash also approached the hole, feeling as if he were walking on the glass pathways of certain tourist attractions. He reached out to touch it and felt like he was caressing cold steel.

"How did she get in there..." the Twin Hosted God muttered from behind, more astonished at Silver Lamp's leap into the hole than his other half's serious injuries: "How is that possible..."

"What's below?" Ash asked.

"Below is the Origin of the Twins Sect, the starting point of Perfect Fate." The Twin Hosted God sighed. As he spoke, his body visibly weakened, while the other severely injured Twin rapidly healed and recovered—they could actually share life!

At this moment, the Swindler and the Necromancer also entered the palace, Ash nodded at them and asked, "Is there a way to get down?"

"No, we've tried many methods, but at most we could only harness a fraction of the leaked energy; we couldn't actually enter... Who are you?" The Twin Hosted God eyed the group of uninvited guests, realizing they were not from the Natural Sect, and couldn't help but feel puzzled.

"We're just traveling merchants passing by," Ash casually said, touching the Barrier: "Is there really no way to get in? How exactly did the Silver Lamp manage to..."

As he spoke, an electric spark appeared at his fingertips, and with a 'crack', the Barrier suddenly shattered, and Ash and Tamasi fell through.

Thanks to many days of air combat training, Ash almost instinctively spread his golden and silver wings—

He couldn't spread them!

Just like in the Mirror of Flowers domain in Black Robe Town, his Magic Power had congealed!

Not only that, but his Hosted God status was also directly canceled, automatically exiting the frenzied Dragon Knight state!

In the blink of an eye, Ash fiercely kicked Tamasi towards the wall of the round hole, then he too reached out to grab the edge of the wall to stop his fall—

He couldn't reach it; he was standing in the middle of the round hole, too far from the edge!

Moreover, the surface of the wall was extremely smooth, with no cracks that could provide a grip; it would be nearly impossible for anyone to grab on without the use of Magic Power.

So when Igula and Harvey hurried over, all they saw was the Black Crow holding onto the wall with one hand, looking down into the Abyss.

...

...

He didn't die from the fall.

Ash felt that after he fell a certain distance, his descent began to slow down. Eventually, he landed almost as gently as a feather, as if cradled by the air, drifting slowly to the ground.

The moment he landed, he immediately began to move and stay alert to avoid a surprise attack from the Silver Lamp. However, what was in front of him was a deserted underground hall with pathways in all directions and not a soul in sight.

What was the Silver Lamp thinking, going to all this trouble to come to a place where Magic Power was bound? What exactly did she want to do?

While Ash was contemplating this, he suddenly heard clear footsteps coming from a nearby corridor.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

He immediately pressed himself against the wall, silently counting his breaths, waiting for the moment the footsteps came close. When they did, he preemptively struck, using the Witch's joint-locking techniques to destroy the opponent's ability to fight back!

Crack! Crack! Crack!

With several muffled thuds of flesh colliding, it seemed as though the opponent had anticipated Ash's attacks. Ash did not gain the upper hand and hastily retreated several steps to regain his stance.

But when he clearly saw the face of his opponent, Ash was stunned.

"Who are you?"
