This one was the most difficult out of all the places that had to be subdued.
It was because this place was also the one that had the most value out of all the places that were to be subdued.
As such, it also meant that it was the most heavily guarded.
Since it was something that was valuable, it was only natural that there were other things that wanted it as well.
The more valuable something was, the more strength was needed to take it.
That was just how things worked in this world.
So that was why everyone was gathered.
This wasn't something that I could face all on my own.
But the good thing was that since going around to subdue all these resources, our forces had indeed become stronger.
It wasn't just the wolves that had been tamed, there were also these bears and lions that were on our side as well now.
The lions were certainly a surprise since one would think that the lions wouldn't submit that easily. After all, lions were creatures that lived on pride and wouldn't betray that pride easily.
But in the end, that didn't matter in front of the pressure from a dragon.
Lions had the right to be prideful in my past life, but it wasn't the same in this case. In this world filled with magical creatures, there were plenty that were stronger than lions.
So even if the lions were strong in my past life, they were nothing more than mid class creatures here. They were still stronger than normal creatures, but they couldn't be considered kings like in my past life.
That was why they were afraid to enter this cave that was in front of us.
After all, there was something more powerful and terrifying than these lions in the cave. It was the same for the bears that came with us as well.
In this world, magic really did decide everything.
Once we stopped, I said, "I'll lead the way, but I'll need support from all of you if we're to take down these things."
Everyone had a serious look on their face as they nodded to show they understood.
They had no choice but to be this serious since the things that were inside of this cave were truly fierce. If it wasn't for me leading them, they never would have come to this place.
Seeing that they all agreed, I didn't waste any time as I headed right for the cave.
If we spent too long outside, then it would give the things inside of the cave time to notice us. We wanted to catch them off guard as much as possible to make things easier for us after all.
At the same time, we wanted to make sure that none of them would be able to escape.
It was dangerous if these things were to escape.
As for what they were…
When I entered the cave, it didn't seem like there was anything here.
But when I looked closely, I could see that there were rocks that seemed to be moving.
These didn't look like normal rocks, but rocks that seemed to be made completely out of metal. But at the same time, it seemed like all of these rocks had irregular shapes as if they were following some kind of curve.
It seemed like a strange kind of rock to appear in nature.
That was because this wasn't a natural rock.
In fact, it wasn't even a rock to begin with.
This was a creature that only looked like a rock, but it wasn't actually that.
Though it was indeed made of metal.
I didn't do anything to them as I silently moved past them since I wanted to see just how many of them there were. I wanted to locate all of these creatures made of metal as quickly as possible so we could make sure that not a single one escaped.
In the end, I found that there were over ten of them that were in this cave.
"It's much worse than I thought." I thought to myself after seeing this.
It was already bad if there were more than five of them, but more than ten of them…
In the first place, these things were called Metal Lizards and the defense of their bodies was on a different level. Even I would have struggled quite a bit if I were to take these Metal Lizards head on.
So when it came to the others, it was naturally hard for them to fight these Metal Lizards as well.
Though a better name for these Metal Lizards was mini dragon since they could also spit out flames. The only thing that they didn't have was the bloodline of a dragon or the wings of a dragon.
But everything else they had.
So it was dangerous fighting these things.
I could fight them if I didn't care about revealing my trump cards and it was certainly possible for me to fight them alone, but I didn't want to do that. After all, it was likely that one of them would have escaped if I fought them alone.
That was the main reason for this full assault.
Looking around I could see the traces of the metal that these Metal Lizards had eaten to give them their current shell.
The one specialty of the Metal Lizards was that they would grow a shell based on the metal that they ate. The stronger the metal, the harder their shells would be.
For these Metal Lizards, the metal that they ate was iron.
I could see it from the different rocks that were scattered around and even the veins that were in the walls.
Since it was iron, it was a pain to deal with.
But the good news was that there would be an iron mine to take once this was all over.
An iron mine in the wilderness was a rare resource, one that many would fight over.
Having one fall into my palms like this was a good sign, though I did still have to secure it before it could be said to be mine.
