Void Cultivation

Chapter 122- Black Clothed Cultivator

As Grey stood lost in his thoughts, something in the distance caught his attention—a small black dot on the horizon. His senses immediately sharpened, and with a swift motion, he activated his Dragon Eyes. A subtle shift occurred, and his usual grey irises gleamed with an eerie purple light, thin, glowing tendrils of violet energy unfurling from his gaze. The moment he did, his perception expanded, zooming in on the distant speck, allowing him to see with an unnatural clarity.

The dot was not a mere trick of the light, but rather, a magic ship, cutting through the sky with purpose. As his focus honed in, Grey's heart skipped a beat. He could now make out a figure standing on the deck, facing the open sea. His long black hair billowed in the wind, and his posture was stiff, regal even.

He had long black hair and a cold, nonchalant expression. His entire body emitted strong sinister fluctuations. So strong that Grey almost thought he was looking at a mutated creature rather than a human. His spirit energy fluctuations resembled Soulsmiths greatly. He was formerly facing the direction of the sea, it was as if he had yet to notice the magic ship yet.

But when Grey's perception was set on him, his face twisted into a slight frown as he turned to look in the direction where Grey was.

Facing his direct stare, Grey suddenly felt his head erupt in pain. Her eyes turned bloodshot and his head felt like it was about to crack open.

Luckily, the Divine flames in his spirit sea did not break out of its seals so the actual pain was something he couldn't bear.

'Foundation Establishment... He noticed me? I have to learn how to stop looking at things that are stronger than me. It will get me killed!' Grey lamented inwardly.

As he clutched his head in pain and resisted the urge to yell a scream, he felt a liquid run down his palms and touch the floor boards.

'It was blood'

Grey was bleeding from his orifices with a shocked expression on his face.

'He's at a high level in Foundation Establishment. Maybe he has even formed three balls of spirit fire-' Grey said inwardly. The captain had appeared again at some point like a ghost. Her gaze was also set on the black dot that was rapidly approaching.

'-Luckily, the pain I felt this time is not the same as when I peeked at that Divine existence from thousands of meters away. That slip up made Divine flames appear in my spirit sea, nearly threatening to burn it down. But this encounter only forced me to cough out a mouthful of blood at the most. It cannot be compared at all...'

Retracting his perception from the dark clothed cultivator, Grey focused instead on another small black dot behind the black clothed cultivator.

A little wary, Grey still extended his perception and saw a young girl with two pigtails following after the young black clothed man with a fawning expression.

Every minute or so, she would call out like this and say in a gentle tone. "Senior brother, can I ride on your magic ship? It's a lot more impressive than mine."

The black clothed man, who pretended to ignore, actually twitched his eyebrows. His expression turned from cold to flabbergasted. But since his back was facing the young girl, she did not see his quick change of expression.

When Grey saw their black clothes, he immediately knew they were from Sky Mist. Because Sky Mist's sequence one only wore black clothes.

The aura around them was sinister and people from other sequences hardly ever fought them due to their strength. Not only that, but the people from sequence one were always weird ad strongly arrogant.

Always flaunting their presence and strength wherever they went.

The sequence one's of Sky Mist cultivated the Sky Mist spirit refinement art. Which led to them always having malicious and sinister presence around them. The captain seemed to have also recognized them and started to steer her magic ship away from them.

But the black clothed cultivator had already caught on to Grey's retreating perception and immediately locked in to them from the distance.

Suddenly, his magic ship began to accelerate and change direction towards their magic ship.

The girl with two pigtails was stunned, but she reacted quickly and followed after the magic ship before it got too far. "Senior brother...?" She muttered when she saw the black clothed cultivator expression turn cold.

When the captain saw the magic ship silently approaching. She couldn't help but feel alarmed.

The captain, sensing the rising tension, pushed the magic ship even faster. Her instincts screamed at her to avoid confrontation at all costs. She had no intention of engaging with this person—someone who could very well have multiple balls of spirit fire. With only a single ball herself, and Grey still far from Foundation Establishment, they wouldn't stand a chance. Even if they were ten times their current strength, they'd be crushed under his power the moment he unleashed his spirit fires.

Seeing this, the captain turned to Grey and let out a bitter smile. She then faced the magic ship and began to conjure hand seals in the air. The magic ship seemed to glow and pulse with a light blue energy as formations began to appear around the magic ship.

Soon, dense formations surrounded the magic ship. The magic ship now surrounded and completely covered by head seal-like formations suddenly accelerate and tore through the waters like hot knife cutting through butter.

Grey noticed that the captain did not make the magic ship turn into a stream of light and jump a great distance. 'Maybe she can't use that ability multiple times in a given period.' Grey said internally.

He had already begun to prepare for battle in case it ever came to that. He had even begun to circulate both energies within his body.

As for the captain, she had begun to stir the great power of Foundation Establishment within her. Making the clouds turn even darker and the atmosphere tense.

At this time, the black clothed cultivator was within one thousand meters. The moment he saw the darkening skies, he couldn't help but sneer and let out a cold harrumph.

With the wave of his hand, the clouds immediately dispersed like smoke being waved off by a giant hand.

The grey clouds instantly cleared. When he captain saw this, she couldn't help but let out a wry smile.

The following battle was now unavoidable. The Captain's appearance suddenly began to change. Her violet hair color receded and instantly became dark brown. Her eye-catching eye color suddenly turned from purple to brown and her stunning appearance changed to one of a slightly normal young girl.

The captain had changed her appearance. After that, she pouted her lips and turned to Grey, who was already wearing his mysterious cloak. When the captain saw this, she stuck out her tongue.

Finally, the black clothed cultivator arrived within a distance of 100 meters. Grey and the captain could now see his appearance clearly. Actually, Grey had long seen his appearance, so he wasn't surprised.

When the captain saw him, she raised her eyebrows in surprise but still sent out a wave of energy from her magic ship.

Meanwhile, Grey leaped out from the captain's magic ship and swiftly waved his hand. A magic ship in a bottle slipped from under his sleeves and landed on the water.

It then turned into a large magic ship with a large hole in it's hull.

When Grey saw his magic ship appear underneath him, he shook his hand again and brought out a soul weapon from his storage bag.

A sharp glint appeared in his eyes as purple could be seen coming out from his eyes and being directed towards the black clothed cultivator.

At that moment, the black clothed cultivator felt as if a sudden sense of vertigo hit him. He lost control of the Foundation Establishment attack he was preparing.

'Argh!'

But using his sea of consciousness, he forcefully expelled that feeling from his mind and his expression soon returned to normal. He then glanced at Grey who was standing on the deck of a broken magic ship.

He had already thrown the soul weapon in his hand towards the black clothed cultivator. The black clothed cultivator sneered and flicked his finger.

The soul weapon Grey had thrown was flicked away and directly exploded. Meanwhile, Grey staggered backwards as he suffered from the backlash of having his perception forcefully ejected.

Blood ran down from his nose but his eyes were determined. He then raised his hands up. A purple aura surrounded his arm and completely coated it in mysteriousness and strange domineeringness. A little dark gold aura coated the purple light around his arm.

A purple but dark-golden colored sword materialized in the space above his head. The sword was over ten meters long and looked ready to slash down.

The moment the sword had finished materializing, Grey unhurriedly brought his hand down. The illusionary sword above his head also came down as well.
