The void of chaos shuddered with each footstep the enormous the Void Buddha took. Each step sending ripples that inevitably resulted in great change. All were inconsequential compared to the Void Buddha's destination.
As the cosmic being got closer and closer to an ovoid shape, a feeling of nostalgia crossed his mind. It had been so long since that life. His original being was far removed compared to his current identity.
The 'self' that had once been Zhunti was comparatively gone. Siddartha considered himself the resulting karmic echo of action that Shiva and Vishnu took by taking that remnant near destroyed immortal cultivator. As such, he hardly ever thought of things from Zhunti's perspective anymore.
'As expected,' the Shakyamuni paused upon the ovoid barrier's instinctive repulsion. He was carrying an enormous foreign entity after all. 'I can only hope things turn out well from now on.'
…
"There, the seal has been redone. No more transmigrants will arise for the next ten thousand years." Haotian turned away from the Three Realm's core resolutely.
Nuwa nodded in gratitude. "Thank you my friend. If only solutions can be more permanent."
The Heavenly Dao didn't trust Nuwa to not pull a fast one. So Haotian accompanied her every time to suppress Liu Er's Dao. But as that Dao had become embedded into the fundamental laws that make up the Three Realms, only extremely powerful seals were capable.
The Heavenly Dao was allergic to letting go of things. So it let Haotian do whatever aside from ripping it out by force. Haotian also did not want to keep dispatching men every couple of years. So he decided on this method.
For all her polite grace, Haotian felt saddened by the cooler edge in both her voice and posture. In this life, few were wronged as much as Nuwa and this reflected in her attitude.
Her eyepatch remained a fixture even though she could heal the injury. A reminder to the dangers of Liu Er's Dao, she had claimed. For all the gods in court, it had become a creepy sight.
"Something's happened, I'm sensing a powerful presence outside?"
"I'm aware," Haotian informed her. "I'm tightly bound to Heavenly Dao. There is another Chaos World rubbing edges with us."
"Not a normal one either."
Even with the isolationist attitude of the Three Realms, everyone knew Chaos Worlds in the Chaos Sea were minor entities at best. A single Golden Immortal could wipe out and create one at will.
Even inside the Three Realms, cave worlds of said immortals were Chaos Worlds in and of themselves.
The two teleported out of the core, carried along by the demands of the Heavenly Dao to meet this potential threat. The gods of the court also received the same signal through the God Sealing Roll.
Haotian sent a mental command for them to await inside the Thirty Three Heavens.
The Three Pure Ones were already sitting in the Chaos Sea when Haotian and Nuwa arrived. Jieyin was not present, still sulking after the court's founding. Yaochi wasn't either for reasons Haotian will not disclose.
"It is a titanic presence. I'm certain of handling it as a saint, but that is within the Three Realms where I have my full strength," The Grand Pure One said first.
"Problem is, this fellow Daoist is not moving one inch closer. Just outside the Heavenly Dao's current range," The Supreme Pure One added.
"To add to my brother and sister, it is hard to detect this fellow daoist's strength. His cultivation level keeps shifting. But from a glance…"
"No need," Haotian interrupted the Jade Pure One. "Let me handle this."
"Your majesty, have you lost your mind?" Taishang curiously asked. "You don't have any authority over them. You as you are now is too valuable to risk."
Meanwhile, Haotian had been speaking with the Heavenly Dao this entire time. Before the Three Pure Ones uttered the first sentence, he'd already shared Da Hai's memories regarding the Fourteen Realms.
It took the same amount of time for an intense stick to burn for the Heavenly Dao to come to a decision. "I trust you to resolve this. Don't bother me again unless it's urgent. Someone needs to keep tour piece of shit of a master in line," it said the equivalent of.
"Thank you oh great venerable one," Haotian replied in a rather performative way. Enough to satisfy the Heavenly Dao, too self absorbed to notice the sarcasm.
Haotian left the purview of the Three Realms. Even from a distance, the Void Buddha was a majestic being. Standing in front of them was akin to standing in front of a Dao realm being.
But weather it really was one, Haotian could not be sure. He even doubted the Grand Pure One's confidence in dealing with him at his full strength. Though the old man was known to speak without complex thoughts, as was the case with followers of the Inaction Dao.
"Amitabha," Haotian greeted. The Void Buddha's shape was easy enough to recognize as the Shakyamuni Buddha for someone with inherited memories of myth.
"Boundless light? You know Sanskrit?" The Void Buddha asked. "But only Da Hai had known of…oh I see."
He seemingly deciphered Haotian's origins with a single glance. But considering the Buddha's relationship with the concept of karma, Haotian didn't think it a surprise.
"Didn't figure it out at a glance? May I ask. Are you Daoist Zhunti?"
"In ages past, I existed under that name. But the existence of Zhunti had long ceased, transferring to me through karma. I am Buddha, born called Siddartha Gautama," the enormous cosmic entity said.
Just listening to it speak was maddening enough for Haotian. Where it not for Da Hai's foundation, he'd be unable to decipher this Buddha.
"Then you are a son of the Three Realms. Tell me, why return after all this time? Why return carrying a foreign Chaos World in you?" Haotian asked. But inside, he already had a good guess to the answer.
"I seek salvation for those I carry in me," the Void Buddha said. The full detail was communicated across subsequently.
Shiva and Vishnu had already transcended even their transcendent existence. By departing the Chaos Sea, they were no longer a factor. But what they left behind was powerful.

But the Fourteen Realms had been more imaginary, less reality. After learning of Pangu's Chaos World, they hoped to merge it into that. That way, the Fourteen Realms would continue to exist as part of the Three Realm's reality.
Without the two omnipotent Dao realm beings in the way, the Heavenly Dao was a lot more ambivalent to this. Haotian had already discussed with it regarding the possibilities.
Legacy of that scale cannot go to waste. The Heavenly Dao desires growth after all. Its ambition lay in total dominance of all existence. The sooner, the better.
It took little for the two representatives to agree on the merger.
"Very well then…Buddha, the Heavenly Dao is willing to accept you and the Fourteen Realms into the Three Realm's cosmological make up. We will agree to allow the races of man, Rakshasa, Deva, Asura, and any other to reside as any natives of the Three Realms would.
"However, understand that the Heavenly Dao is the absolute authority. Not your Brahma, certainly not you, not the Heavenly Emperor Indra. There are laws in place that must be obeyed and I am more than willing to enforce them."
"Adding your own spin?" The Void Buddha was unshaken by the edge in Haotian's voice. "Whatever. I speak for the merger alone."
"One more thing Buddha, do you consent to becoming a Saint of Heaven. I'll eat my shoe if you're not already on the verge of reaching the Dao realm. But the Heavenly Dao dislikes malefactors. But becoming a Saint is an equal level of ascension."
This was what Haotian had concluded after speaking with him for a while. No other possibilities exist to explain how the Void Buddha can handle the Fourteen Realms.
"Please do not lie to me," the Void Buddha said. "I have no desire to become a Saint. My own path is for myself to decide. But the Heavenly Dao should know that I am willing to comply with its restrictions if it is willing to merge. But in heaven and earth, I alone decide for myself."
'Merging implies mutual transformation into a new. No this would be an absorbance,' Haotian internally scoffed. If the Void Buddha hoped for Brahma to fight off the Heavenly Dao, that prospect was unlikely considering what it had become.
After the two agreed, Haotian turned and left. He acknowledged the other saints while guiding the long lost son of the Three Realms back to his original home.
To the denizens of the Three Realms, most did not notice anything. But the truly powerful bigwigs saw the change take place.
…
Tendrils of energy poured out of the Void Buddha and into the Three Realms. The highest immortals watched with fascination as the Heavenly Dao greedily devoured.
The heaven and earth of the Fourteen Realms manifested into the Three Realms, spitting out the Buddha as a result. Though he showed little in the way injury, he was clearly fatigued.
Even the saints could not imagine carrying the Fourteen Realms at a level that was the Dao realm.
As they saw it, it was no wonder this 'Chaos World' would collapse taking everything with it despite the level of power its inhabitants had being more than capable of surviving the Chaos Sea.
Its state of existence was trying to be the Chaos Sea. The Devas and Asuras it spilled out all had a quality to them that was unreal. They were distinguishable as part of a greater mechanism that was someone else's creation.
In front of the Chaos Sea and Grand Dao, it was little more than someone's fantasy. But it did lead to an interesting question for the saints watching.
"Hm."
"What is it brother, you seem troubled?" Tongtian asked Taishang.
"Nothing really, just a theory in the nature of existence," he replied. "Better not think too hard on it."
"I think its topic very needed to be contemplated," Buddha said. "I spent eons thinking during my time in that place. I'll be more than happy to have a Dao debate."
"We'll think about it."
The transition went smoothly afterwards. The Heavenly Dao had none of the flaws Brahma had in sustaining its existence. The four faces god that was also the will of the Fourteen Realms in the same manner that the Heavenly Dao was the will of the Three Realms, had emerged.
No words had been exchanged between them. Brahma could never coexist with the Heavenly Dao. Thus he surrendered himself as material.
The Buddha, having grown up under his watch couldn't help but shed a tear.
In the halls of Lingxiao palace, the various gods of heaven spectated until a large army appeared at their doorstep.
The Devas, gods of the Fourteen Realms who ruled with absolute authority. Their strength was no less than any of the almighty powers in the Three Realms.
At its head was the emperor of heaven, Indra king of all gods. With the Vajira in hand, he streaked lightning across all of the court from atop his mount, Arivatta.
"How pompous," a god of the court sneered.
"He has right to be. He was in my position in his original Chaos World," Haotian said. Though he lazily rested his cheek on a knuckle on his throne, his guard was up
"Behold!" Indra declared. "I am the supreme one. Lord of heaven and all the deities in the universe. I alone command the celestial, the earthly, and all beings in between. I alone am worthy as the honoured one."
Pointing the Vajira at the Jade Emperor, Indra beckoned him. "You've substituted me in my new reality well enough. But I have arrived."
"Nobody move. I'll handle this myself," Haotian said before any of his ministers made a comment. "I was already told what he was like. I'll just have to show the newcomers the rules of the land."
"Oh? You refuse?" Indra smiled as Haotian's exited his palace with sword in hand. "A duel it is then to decide the true ruler of all existence."
"Naturally, I also want to see the best the Devas have to offer," Haotian retorted. "See if you're all worthy to serve me."
The two godkings made history that day. Or rather, Haotian did by beating the Deva's king in a duel.
The Buddha and he already discussed the possibility. Haotian knew of the Deva race's relationship with the Buddha, and the deals its members made before merger.
At the end, the Vast Heaven sword broke through the lightning generated by Vajira, and left an ugly scar across Indra's fair chest.
"Impressive, you truly are the immortal emperor of the gods," Indra said with a small hint of frustration.
"Will it be war then?" Haotian cheekily asked him.
"Hardly, I'm not that arrogant. Very well, king of the gods. You are powerful, and you are worthy as the head of your pantheon. As such, I proclaim you Sakra, lord of heaven." Indra proudly said, as if he was not soundly beaten by the Jade Emperor.
Inwardly, Haotian mused. 'I'll have to confirm with Buddha about this.'
"Hahaha," Haotian chuckled outwardly. "Very well then. As a god more primeval then I. I shall name you Di Shitian, emperor of heaven from a prior beginning."
…
In the West Niuhe continent, Saint Jieyin was woken from his cultivation by a commotion outside his abode.
The saint level cultivator had known of a merger with another Chaos World that would greatly benefit the Three Realms. This he had been busy contemplating the new Dao Laws flowing in.
But the single whiff of qi from outside sent him spiralling. He knew this qi, yet it did not make him pleased.
"What is the meaning of this."
The old Mt Sumeru had been toppled. Jieyin sat on a rebuilt mountain and oversaw management of the entire landmass. This was Mt Xumi, the centre of the western world.
Disciples of Jieyin's sect were arguing around one individual who had stepped in unannounced. The younger ones were angered by the seemingly lack of respect, while the older ones were angered by the individual's familiar aura.
"Randeng, what has occurred?" The demon prince Luya, who had taken refuge in the west after the disaster in the stars, asked his senior uncle.
"This man, he cannot possibly be. That senior perished ages ago." Instead of answers, the Burning Lamp Daoist was second guessing his own memories.
"ENOUGH!"
Jieyin manifested as luminescent giant. He did not appear at peace, nor joyful. He was furious by someone he could identify as Zhunti. "Who dares steal my brother's identity?"
A single demand that shook Mt Xumi. The words of a saint were heavy. They naturally caused all sorts of crushing celestial phenomena.
"Peace," the Buddha said. Despite the immense anger of the saint, he helped up his escort.
The Jade Emperor, in an act of good faith had dispatched his personal friend, Dong Wanggong to guide him back. But even his power as King Duke of the East could not save him from the crushing fury of Jieyin. His legs would've given out were it not for Buddha.
"What gall Haotian has? He has not only caused suffering on kindly demons, suppressed numerous schools of cultivation. Now he dares mock me like this?"
"Don't misunderstand Daoist Jieyin, I am here on behalf of his majesty to safely deliver this old mutual friend of ours home." Dong Wanggong knew how sensitive the topic of Zhunti was around him. He did not get angry, nor throw out threats.
"Senior brother, it is no lie. Look upon me and see truth," the Buddha said. He held no fighting spirit, no intention to even defend himself. Almost as if he knew that no harm would come to his person.
It was not like he could claim superiority over Jieyin's cultivation. He could see the vision, but hadn't reached the Dao realm.
Jieyin glared uncharacteristically at Buddha. He used all his omnipotence to prove what Buddha said were false. He mobilized his entire cultivation base, even his connection to the Heavenly Dao.
The saint went as far as to reached into the newly absorbed data from the Fourteen Realms. "This cannot be."
"He knows the venerable saint? Interesting. I can sense his cultivation to be profound already. But is entirely unlike any Dao technique I'm familiar with," Luya mused to his demon followers.
"I did cultivate towards Dao once" Buddha, always happy to discuss philosophies, answered. "But I've found different answers since."
"Tell me it's a lie. It cannot be true. My Zhunti perished into nothingness."
"Senior brother has had it tough. Protecting the weaker races of the world, bringing salvation to those in danger. Our lives mission, the karma we sowed has been tough on you," Buddha said.
"You are right that Zhunti perished a long time ago. But his karma resulted in the birth of I, a reincarnation of that wiseman in the Chaos World propagated by lords Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
"I am no longer Daoist Zhunti. I was born with the name Siddartha Gautama. I was made the saint of the Shakya, Shakyamuni. My cultivation has diverged and the answer I found lay not in Dao, but in myself. I am Buddha, the enlightened one."
As he spoke, the air of tranquility radiated from the Buddha. He was not bagged by anything. He was unbothered, at peace, and there was a wisdom to him that elevated his state of mind. It was all fascinating, yet also confusing for the immortal cultivators of the west.
"Buddha…I am not familiar with this language," Jieyin chuckled. "Then why return after all this time? You've been alive far longer then a mere Yuanhui in this current life."
"It was the only way to save my new home. And also…I missed my old home. I wished to see you again senior brother. How are you? Have you been well without me? I have asked myself those questions for many years."
"Then how do you appear so free and unbothered?" Jieyin snapped. "You don't speak like you care at all."
The Buddha did not hesitate to answer. "In the sea of karma that is existence, I have discovered and liberated myself."
"Oh?"
"Please understand, I am disinterested in converting others to my line of thinking. I am a teacher at heart, I'll impart my knowledge as I've always done as Buddha," he said.
"My sole request is to seek a place to live. I hope it's not too much to ask, but I want to build a temple on Mt Ling towards the eastern side of here. The region appeals to me, and my current students have stated a desire for forms of sorts."
The Buddha bowed towards Jieyin, who had not refused his request. The older saint no longer had the heart to argue. At the same time, he did not want to dictate what people want to learn.
"I have always looked at your example as my guiding light. In my memories, you were the infinite light that illuminated the darkness that was life. You became my dharma until I defined my own. I will always look up to you. I will always respect you. I will always pay homage to you."
The Buddha then uttered the name he had referred Jieyin as, whenever he mentioned him in the past. A name that had already garnered a reputation as an enlightened wiseman in the Buddhist sangha.
"Amitabha."
