Carlotta was also growing irritated from being chased, and decidedly lunged towards Selene. But in the next moment, several puppets blocked her path, preventing her from dragging Selene into the War Goddess's space.
Everyone knew that Golden Lion and the others kept catching up largely because of the Seer Magic user Selene. They all wanted to eliminate her, but clearly, this wouldn't be easy.
Golden Lion's group was clearly prioritizing Selene's protection, unwilling to let such a unique teammate get hurt.
Goddess of Harvest!
Carlotta created vast fields of blooming flowers. From within those fields, countless blades of light erupted, brilliant, dazzling, and terrifying.
Under the onslaught of innumerable blades, one puppet was forcibly torn apart. Watching this, Elisa's expression shifted.
"Actually, I've been puzzled all along. Why did she carry such a familiar aura?"
Selene stared at Carlotta with suspicion.
She had long sensed Carlotta's aura, felt familiar, and had especially paid attention to both Carlotta and Achilles. During previous battles, Carlotta had deliberately targeted Achilles, which made her feel something wasn't quite right.
Now, as Carlotta approached, Selene whispered, "Past and future, the true self remains one."
She pointed at Carlotta, using that familiar aura as a trigger. Instantly, scenes began reflecting in her eyes, a memory of casually helping Achilles track down a murderer. Back then, someone had killed Achilles's daughter, and she had assisted him, using it to secure Achilles's help in return.
Seeing these images and feeling that unmistakable familiarity, Selene's expression undergoes a rare, intense shift.
"Is it actually you? How could it be you? Carlotta White!"
Selene was utterly shocked.
Wasn't she just an apprentice? And only a fifth tier at that? How could she suddenly be capable of killing Weavers?
Was this even possible?
Selene's voice trembled as she revealed Carlotta's identity. The others present remained confused, having never heard the name Carlotta White.
Realizing her identity had been revealed, Carlotta couldn't help but felt slightly surprised, but she didn't hide anymore.
Compared to the identity of Carlotta White, her identity as "Moon" was far more sensitive. Since it wasn't the "Moon" that had been exposed, there was no need to worry.
She removed her Illusion Mask, revealing her true appearance. Her crimson hair fluttered, and her matching red eyes sparkled as she stared at Selene.
She raised her hand, making a throat-slitting gesture, then stepped back.
Although her true face was now revealed, she still concealed her aura with artifacts, making her rank impossible to discern. But her combat strength truly matched that of a Weaver, so naturally, everyone regarded her as one.
"Strange, I've never seen this Weaver before."
White Goat Menon looked over in confusion.
Could she really be from the Northern Continent?
"Probably a newly promoted Weaver, but her fighting power is incredibly strong."
Guy offered a brief compliment.
Both exchange only quick words before returning to the intense battle, unable to fully disengage.
The assault from Golden Lion's side was too fierce, they were determined to eliminate everyone here. The killing intent filled the air, putting immense pressure on all of them.
"The enemy has one more peak tier Weaver than we do. This is difficult. Miss Rose... well, Miss Carlotta White, can you at least handle one of them?"
Guy asked.
Carlotta replied, "I can't hold one off alone. But among us, besides you, there's actually someone else capable of facing a peak tier Weaver... More accurately, she can handle the Golden Lion."
"Who?"
Guy asked urgently.
"Night Cat."
Carlotta said.
Hearing this, Night Cat's expression flickered. She looked at Carlotta in surprise, wondering why Carlotta had made such a judgment. Had she discovered something?
Guy didn't understand Carlotta's reasoning either, but immediately declared, "Night Cat, switch opponents. You take on the Golden Lion."
The group instantly rearranged.
Guy charged towards Elisa, forcing Elisa to recall her puppets and face him seriously.
Azure Fox engaged Big Mountain.
White Goat faced off against Selene.
Night Cat now stood directly before Golden Lion.
Carlotta, for the moment, found herself free.
Seeing this, Golden Lion prepared to charge at Carlotta, but she quickly warned, "Night Cat, the contract still stands. You clearly have means to restrain Golden Lion. You must exert yourself seriously, or the contract will backfire on you."
With no choice, Night Cat gritted her teeth and blocked Golden Lion.
She knew who the Golden Lion was.
And the Golden Lion knew who she was.
As they stood face to face, the atmosphere instantly became awkward.
Taking advantage of this, Carlotta intended to go after Selene, but as she turned, she saw Selene had already entered White Goat's mirror world. The two were clashing in a strange dimension, leaving her unable to intervene for now.
She shifted her focus to Big Mountain and quickly swung her sword, invoking the War Goddess and dragging him into that mysterious space.
Yet, unlike Achilles, Big Mountain didn't collapse.
"Urrrrghhh..."
After struggling through who knows how many years within the War Goddess's space, Big Mountain reappeared.
He transformed into a giant dragon, covered in black scales, his massive fleshly wings spreading wide enough to blot out the sky. A terrifying pressure surged outward.
"This guy is actually a dragon?"
Both sides were stunned.
But quickly, Guy realized, "This one is Horan Freck, the strongest in the Avikar Kingdom. He's a transformation mage who can transform into any monster, including a dragon!"
Horan's identity was finally exposed. As the top warrior of a royal family, he was a middle tier Weaver. His aura now terrifying, he charged straight at Carlotta.
Carlotta frowned, but could only meet him head-on.
She realized the War Goddess couldn't easily subdue such a being, its effect was limited to mere attrition. Of course, this didn't mean she couldn't defeat him. It just meant their battle would likely drag on, requiring multiple instances of pulling him into the War Goddess's space.
Even then, it was uncertain who would ultimately win.
'My combat power is indeed equivalent to a middle tier Weaver. Fighting other middle tier Weavers, the outcome is unpredictable.'
Carlotta thought to herself.
She then told Azure Fox Wesley, "I'll hold this one off. You go assist White Goat and eliminate Selene. This is crucial."
Azure Fox's face was slightly pale. Fortunately, his opponent hadn't gone all out earlier when trying to conceal his identity, otherwise as a mere early tier Weaver, he would've been in grave danger.
Now, he nodded and immediately turned to help White Goat, joining the fight against Selene.
This time, it was Golden Lion's side that grew anxious.
Elisa couldn't help shouting, "Golden Lion, what are you doing? You can't beat that girl?"
The relationship between Golden Lion Rodrigo and Night Cat Arianna was something even the others from the Golden Lion side couldn't comprehend, they had no idea what was currently troubling Golden Lion.
The two stood high in the air. The Golden Lion whispered, "Can't you just step back?"
"It's an Absolute Contract, bearing my name."
Night Cat replied helplessly.
Although they originated from the Southern Continent, they had thoroughly researched the Northern Continent. Golden Lion knew exactly what an Absolute Contract was, and his expression immediately turned solemn.
He took a deep breath and said, "If that's the case, then there's no choice. You'll have to take some injury."
He couldn't possibly allow Night Cat to simply restrain him like this. Without hesitation, he struck, forcefully slapping his own head. However, this blow didn't harm him at all. Instead, the heavy impact generated a peculiar energy, which his palm captured and condensed into a ball of white light.
Immediately afterward, Golden Lion raised his hand and hurled the white light toward Night Cat.
The light came at blinding speed. Night Cat, even if she'd intended to dodge, couldn't evade it in time. The ball of light struck her with pinpoint accuracy.
In the next moment, she let out a piercing scream. Her head burst open as if struck by a tremendous force, and her body flew far away like a kite caught in a violent gale.
Carlotta, even while fighting Big Mountain who had transformed into a dragon, kept an eye on Golden Lion's situation. Seeing this, her gaze prepared narrowed.
'Intelligence reports said Golden Lion wields Reverse Magic. He hit himself, but suffered nothing, yet Night Cat was attacked as if she'd been struck directly…'
Carlotta pondered, gaining an initial understanding of Reverse Magic.
The next moment, she turned and fled.
After sending Night Cat flying, Golden Lion immediately charged towards her. She couldn't afford to keep fighting, it would be too dangerous.
"Whoosh!"
Carlotta rapidly retreated.
"Do I look like I let you leave?"
Big Mountain, transformed into a dragon, roared. With a powerful flap of his wings, his speed was astonishing. In almost an instant, he appeared in front of Carlotta, blocking her path.
Seeing this, Carlotta immediately activated her Battle Card art, drawing out a Speed Card and activating it.
This move surprised everyone around. Up until now, Carlotta's fighting methods seemed to have nothing to do with Card Magic, so why was she suddenly using it?
Was it a secondary discipline?
But could secondary techniques possibly be effective for someone at the Weaver level?
Everyone clearly didn't understand, but regardless of whether others could comprehend it or not, under the boost of the speed card, Carlotta instantly turned into a blur and sped away, her velocity far exceeding her previous speed, leaving the dragon-form Big Mountain unable to catch up.
At this moment, Selena had just used her Seer ability to see through White Goat's Mirror Magic, breaking free from that strange mirror world and returning to reality.
The moment she returned, she saw Carlotta using Card Magic to flee, and froze momentarily, then her expression changed.
Earlier, when she recognized Carlotta's identity, she hadn't thought much of it. Only now did she suddenly recall an issue: Carlotta's primary discipline was Card Magic!
Then why had someone whose main art was Card Magic been continuously using techniques outside of it earlier, and even managed to kill Weavers?
"What is going on with this person?"
Selena inexplicably felt a surge of anxiety. As a practitioner of Seer Magic, she possessed certain foresight abilities and could preliminarily glimpse future events, so most of the time, she felt as though she had everything under control.
But now, something was wrong. She sensed something unexpected about Carlotta, something she couldn't possibly predict. No matter how much she used her Seer Magic, she couldn't clarify this anomaly.
This girl was beyond the rules.
Suddenly, Selena stiffened, her body instinctively tensed.
Because Carlotta, who had been speeding away as a streak of light, suddenly charged straight towards her.
Carlotta had already resigned herself to fleeing, but then she noticed Selena had emerged, causing her to immediately change her mind and attack.
Since her identity as Carlotta White was already exposed, she no longer intended to hide her strength. She absolutely had to eliminate Selena, this troublesome Seer Magic practitioner, otherwise there would be no peace for her within the Tower of Babel.
She simultaneously activated a Flight Card, causing a pair of elven wings to emerge from her back. With a powerful flap, her speed increased dramatically, making it impossible for the dragon behind her to catch up.
"White Goat, I will handle her. You go, stall the others."
Carlotta said.
White Goat's face darkened. Helplessly, he replied, "I'm afraid I can't stall the others."
"Others might not work, but your Mirror Magic definitely will."
Carlotta asserted confidently.
Although White Goat was only an early-tier Weaver, his magic was bizarre and unpredictable. Carlotta believed it was enough to restrain even a middle-tier Weaver.
Big Mountain was closer behind, while Golden Lion was farther away, so they only needed to delay Mountain for a moment.
White Goat understood Carlotta's intentions. He had already clashed with Selena and knew he couldn't defeat her. Now, he could only leave this task to Carlotta.
Immediately, White Goat charged towards Big Mountain. One mirror after another rapidly emerged from the surrounding void, spreading out until the vast sky seemed transformed into a sky made of mirrors.
The mirrors reflect all things in the world, and dense waves of magical energy surged like boiling water.
Carlotta glanced back at White Goat, then pursued Selena.
This caused Selena's expression to drastically change. She quickly retreated.
While retreating, Selena was already activating her Seer Magic, searching through one future branch after another, trying to find the most favorable outcome for herself.
Soon, many futures appeared.
In the first future, she saw Carlotta beheading her with a single sword strike. She immediately shifted to the second future.
In the second future, she was headed from a different angle.
She looked at the third future, still beheaded.
She continued observing the subsequent futures. With each future revelation, her head was severed again and again.
This observation caused beads of cold sweat to uncontrollably form on her forehead, her breathing becoming particularly rapid.
Observing the future was inherently stressful for her, the more she saw, the greater the pressure. But why, after viewing so many futures, were they all tragic endings?
