Carlotta's Daily Report

Chapter 213: Miss Rose what are you doing?

The world once ruled by a God?

Carlotta pondered. So, did that mean World One had never been ruled by a god? Then why was that?

Carlotta said to the High Priestess, "I know how to reach a few other worlds, but we must return to this world first."

The High Priestess nodded, allowing Carlotta to take the lead.

Immediately, Carlotta flew ahead, passing by one floating island after another.

Each of these floating islands teemed with life, lush and vibrant, the scenery is exceptionally pleasant, a stark contrast to the apocalyptic sight of World Two.

Seeing such a scene during their passage, the High Priestess couldn't help but feel her heart tremble. In her own world once, such prosperity had also existed. Unfortunately, that past, everything, had truly become the past.

The floor's dominant creature, that giant eagle, spotted the two passing by and quickly flapped its wings, flying over like a dark cloud covering the sky, its aura terrifyingly intense.

As the giant eagle approached, it stared fixedly at the High Priestess. Its eyes flashed with vicious light, yet it never drew closer. After observing her for a while, it turned and flew away.

"It seems very afraid of you."

Carlotta remarked.

The High Priestess's expression remains unchanged. "Perhaps it sensed my aura. But if we truly fought, I might not be its match."

A former being close to godhood, she was now far more fragile than before.

The two continued onward.

According to prior intelligence, the passage to World Three was located on level two hundred and eight.

Carlotta ascended steadily, reaching this level without incident.

This was a world resembling a forest, dense foliage, blossoming flowers, many harmless monsters wandering about. The scenery was picturesque, the atmosphere relaxed.

Within this forest lay a modest-sized lake. Suddenly, it became the gateway to World Three.

After arriving here, Carlotta led the High Priestess and smoothly entered the lake, stepping into that mysterious passage.

Then, Carlotta and the High Priestess emerged from another lake.

Flying out of the water, Carlotta looked around, her heart shook, momentarily at a loss for words.

The Tower of Babel in World Three naturally shared the same environment as in World One. Yet within this world's surroundings, no forest can be seen, only scattered, withered tree stumps lying around, still exhibiting a decaying state.

"It seems this place also bears that same sight."

Carlotta spoke to the High Priestess.

"Let's go check the top of the tower first."

The High Priestess said.

"Does the god of this world recognize you?"

Carlotta asked.

The High Priestess replied, "The moment I arrived in this world, I knew which god ruled it. This god has always maintained good relations with the god of my world. I've visited multiple times as a guest, so I've indeed received their recognition."

Carlotta understood.

Then, the repetitive process began again.

Carlotta used her map to locate the passage, leading the High Priestess steadily upward, until finally reaching level three hundred.

Floor three hundred wasn't the limit; one could continue ascending. According to the High Priestess, the Tower of Babel was essentially infinite, so long as one wished to proceed, more floors would manifest ahead.

However, to reach the god's abode at the top of the tower, floor three hundred was sufficient.

Here, Carlotta once again saw the High Priestess enter the divine dwelling in the same manner, and of course, she was brought along as well.

The divine dwelling in this world differed slightly from that in World Two, yet similarly exuded a sense of decay, indicating the god had already perished.

Inside, both Carlotta and the High Priestess circled around multiple times, trying to find something, but still found nothing.

Carlotta asked the High Priestess, "Should we go outside the Tower of Babel to take a look? Perhaps we might find someone like you."

The High Priestess shook her head. "There won't be anyone."

"Why are you so certain?"

Carlotta asked, puzzled.

Hearing this, the High Priestess sobbed.

She said, "The only divine artifact capable of allowing someone to survive across such vast eons is the Eternal Heart. The Eternal Heart is with me. Even if others possess divine artifacts, they wouldn't have such a capability."

Carlotta pondered, then asked again, deeply interested in divine artifacts, wondering if they might find one within World Three.

"You won't find any. During the divine wars, divine artifacts accompany the gods themselves. How could they be so easily discovered?"

The High Priestess dismissed the possibility.

The reason she possessed a divine artifact was because the Eternal Heart had been damaged, rendering it useless to her world's god. Coupled with her truly close relationship with her world's god, the god had left the Eternal Heart behind so she could survive.

"I want to see your world."

The High Priestess said.

"Do you plan to go check the top of the tower? But you said my world was never ruled by a god, then can we still reach the top?"

Carlotta asked curiously.

The High Priestess shook her head. "I don't know. I intend to go see the situation first. If we can reach the top, perhaps we'll discover something."

"Then let's go back."

Carlotta shrugged.

Finding nothing in World Three didn't disappoint her. After all, the world had already decayed, how could she expect much more?

They returned to level two hundred and eight of this world, then traversed back through the dried-up lake, emerging from the lake in World One.

But the moment they surfaced, Carlotta sensed massive disturbances rushing in from the distance.

A fierce battle was interrupted. Terrifying auras surged into the sky, uprooting trees across a wide area, shattering them into countless fragments that scattered chaotically.

"So someone actually reached such a high level?"

Carlotta muttered.

"Let's go."

The High Priestess had no interest in the conflicts of this world. None of this concerned her.

Carlotta nodded, ready to detour away with the High Priestess, but then suddenly noticed a familiar scene unfolding in the distance, prompting her to immediately change her mind.

"Wait. I'm going to check the situation over there."

Carlotta said.

"Must you go?"

The High Priestess frowned.

"Madam, you're not in such a hurry, are you?"

Carlotta smiled.

The High Priestess remained silent.

She wanted to try reaching the top of the tower in this world, but couldn't do so without Carlotta's help. Only Carlotta could accurately locate the next passage's entrance. Without Carlotta, crossing those ninety-odd floors would be difficult, especially since dangers exist along the way.

"Then let's handle your matter first."

The High Priestess said.

Carlotta had already flown towards the scene, the figure of a familiar person appearing in her eyes.

Ahead, two sides were engaged in a fierce battle, one side consisted of four people, while the other had only one.

Coincidentally, Carlotta knew all five of them.

On the side with four people stood her former companions from her team: White Goat, Azure Fox, Guy, and Night Cat.

And on the opposing side, the one being surrounded and attacked, someone who was even closer to Carlotta, was Valerie Graham, the one who had taught her the advanced Elven Knight path.

Faced with this scene, Carlotta naturally couldn't just stand by. She immediately flew forward, her red hair fluttering, her presence imposing, and in an instant plunged into the battlefield.

Her arrival caused everyone present to freeze in shock.

Valerie didn't recognize her true appearance, but White Goat and the others knew her all too well, their eyes widened instantly.

"It's you, Miss Rose! Where have you been? Why did you suddenly disappear?"

"I thought you were dead, Miss Rose."

"Hahaha, you've returned just in time! Join us and help capture this elf. She has plenty of valuable things, and she's all alone, there's no reason to let her go."

They all spoke at once, treating Carlotta as one of their own, showing no suspicion or caution towards her.

Seeing this, Valerie's heart sank.

Bathed in the breeze, her white-green hair fluttered in the wind, giving her a refreshingly pure look, but her expression now turned grim. Fighting four people at once was already a losing battle, and now their reinforcement had arrived. How could she possibly handle this?

Yet what happened next caused even Valerie to stare in astonishment.

Carlotta had struck!

Holding her Rose cross, she unleashed the Goddess of Harvest. Vast rice fields suddenly appeared in midair, encompassing everyone within.

"This... does it resemble the techniques derived from the Goddess of Harvest battle diagram?"

Valerie subconsciously had this thought.

Endless rice fields swayed in the wind. Then, one by one, the rice ears cracked open, revealing countless blades of sword-light within.

An uncountable number of sword beams surged like a tide, exploding violently and completely engulfing White Goat and the others.

The attack came too suddenly. The four were caught off guard, and by the time they recovered, they had all been blasted backward.

Except for the strongest, Guy, the rest were injured to varying degrees.

"Rose, what are you doing?"

As they were thrown back, all four were furious.

Yet immediately after, their expressions turned bewildered, unable to comprehend why Carlotta had attacked them.

They had signed an absolute contract together, there should have been no way they could harm each other. Why could Carlotta do this?

Carlotta ignored the four and turned toward Valerie. "Ms. Graham, we meet again. Are you alright?"

Valerie's expression was strange. She could now confirm without a doubt that the technique Carlotta used was indeed derived from the Goddess of Harvest battle diagram.

A human using such a technique, her identity was obvious.

"It's actually you... But you... you shouldn't be practicing the Elven Knight path, should you?"

Valerie felt deeply shocked, momentarily unable to recover.

In her memory, Carlotta's name was Layla, an elite genius on the early tier Resonator who practiced card magic. She had merely shown great interest in the Elven Knight path, so she came to Valerie to learn them.

But now, no matter how she looked at it, this person before her was completely different from the one she remembered.

Carlotta said, "I'm sorry, Ms. Graham. Back then, my strength was weak, so I could only meet you under a false identity. Now, this is my true self. My name is Carlotta White."

To Carlotta's identity, Valerie clearly compared more about Carlotta's cultivation status.

Carlotta naturally saw what Valerie was thinking. She smiled and said, "As for my cultivation, it's a long story. Let's talk about it another time. But no matter what, I'm truly grateful for your teachings."

After speaking, she turned around to face White Goat and the other four flying toward her.

"Just what exactly is going on with you?"

White Goat and the others stared intensely at Carlotta, still unable to understand why she had attacked them.

The restriction of the absolute contract shouldn't have failed.

Carlotta smiled faintly. "I won't go into details about what's happening. In short, our cooperative relationship ended the moment I left last time. Also, Ms. Graham is my good friend. I suggest you stop here and leave."

Hearing this, White Goat couldn't help but laugh. "I don't know what's going on, but since you can attack us, that means we can attack you too. Miss Rose, this isn't a wise choice."

Night Cat added, "Why should we let this elf go? She has many valuable things. Of course, you probably have plenty too."

"Since you've chosen to be our enemy, why talk more?"

Azure Fox soared through the air, closing in directly.

Seeing this, Carlotta sighed inwardly. Was collision between them inevitable after all?

If it were just herself, she would've already taken Valerie and fled. But the High Priestess was nearby. Even if the High Priestess couldn't perform at her peak strength, her presence gave Carlotta courage.

"If you want to fight, then come."

Carlotta stepped forward fearlessly, her red hair flying, her bearing heroic and fearless.

"I'll deal with her."

Guy immediately charged forward, aiming to quickly eliminate Carlotta.

He was still copying the Knight of Night path. As he approached, a vast expanse of darkness surged toward her, as if he were a monarch under the night sky, his aura was deep and intimidating.

Seeing this, Carlotta instantly unleashed the Goddess of War. One after another, armored versions of herself appeared around her and roared forward toward Guy.

At the same time, Guy was pulled into a battlefield.

Endless battlefield, stretching beyond sight.

Innumerable soldiers charged forward with battle cries.

"I am the King of Night. Where night exists, that is everything."

Guy showed no fear. Above his head, vast expanses of darkness spread out, drawing everything within sight into the domain of night.

Then, under the reach of night, all things will turn to nothingness.

The countless soldiers instantly turned to ash, unable to leave anything behind.

In reality, as Carlotta swung her sword towards Guy, he raised his weapon and blocked her strike with a thunderous clash.
