The Tower of Infinite Evil [A LitRPG Horror Comedy]

Preamble to Volume 2

Interlude

Subject #223, Celestial Messenger: The specimen shows incredible capacity for regeneration and mental resilience. Connected directly to divinities, they are certainly capable of seeking their intercession, and yet the subject has failed to do so. When questioned on the reasoning behind it, the subject was incapable of giving a reason-based answer. I would be pressed to respect the creature, and yet I find their lack of moral agency despicable. Arcane power required to effect capture: 85%. Utility of bodily and spiritual substance in alchemy and ritual: Extremely high. Social compatibility: moderate to low.

Verdict: Inferior

Subject #12, Fiend of the Seventh Pit: Among the largest of the specimens acquired, they required a separate demi-plane for containment for both the reasons of their physical mass and the near-industrial expulsion of various volatile, corrosive and incendiary substances through pseudo-natural functions. Initial screening of morality seemed promising, but several pain points developed during extended interrogation. While demonstrating initial disregard for authority and force, eventually admitted loyalty to several organizations, which was irrationally strong. Unseemly cruelty further diverged from own ethical stances. Arcane power required to effect capture: 70%. Utility of bodily and spiritual substance in alchemy and ritual: Exceptional. Social compatibility: moderate to high.

Subject #1032, Prince of the Emerald Court: Exceptional conversationalist even in adverse conditions. Significant mastery of magic and admirable approach to interaction with creatures of lower intellect and power. A highly promising candidate, if not for over-all level of power and composition of body. Further research required, potential for success among higher Fae. Arcane power required to effect capture: 35%. Utility of bodily and spiritual substance in alchemy and ritual: Situational to low. Social compatibility: high.

Verdict: Inferior

Subject #2, subject unknowable/unnameable: A fascinating specimen delivered from between the manifolds of the multiverse, this subject has left me quite befuddled. While clearly of near-respectable intellect, direct communication has proven essentially impossible. Subject managed to permanently drain roughly 12% of my vital and magical power before capture. Unfortunately, if we do share social or ethical views, the creature refuses to convey them. And in the end, I did manage to capture them. Arcane power required to effect capture: 100%. Utility of bodily and spiritual substance in alchemy and ritual: likely high, research pending. Social compatibility: unknown.

Verdict: Inferior
