I made an 'OOO' sound as I started pulling the frigate apart as I leant over the table, pulling bits closer to my face so I can look deeper into the room, trying to find anything that might be red. I soon found the eco habitat and had leant back from the table a bit as I stood by it, staring into the room at the massive amounts of red items. It blew my mind a little at how many tiny pieces I could buy a licence for so I could print out a replacement piece. I tapped a nozzle on the aeroponics watching it bring up a little window offering to sell me the licence for the nozzle so I could repair the bit, and it was only 5 credits.
"If I click this buy button, do I get the licence or do you as the dry dock foreman, ya know, since this is your table? What if you clicked it?"
"Uh, I'm not sure, how much is it?"
"Five credits, why?"
"Mmm, let's find out, click it and see if you get it for clicking it and paying or if I do."
I narrowed my eyes at her suspiciously before mentally clicking on the buy button and quickly pulled up my status to see if the credits had vanished.

"It took the credits from my account" I said as I turned my attention to my HUD looking for the licence. A moment later a ping went off on my HUD displaying the licence as it shrank down into a ring with a small card hanging off of it.
"Uh, I got it," I said slowly as I stared at it in confusion. "Hey, uh, I just got this ring with a card on it, but shouldn't I have gotten this ring thing when I got the licence for the carrier?"
"No, the carrier licence went to the guild just like all the others, that's why I have them on a foreman ring. This one is your first licence, that you purchased with your own credits, and not with the guilds."
I grinned at her before looking at the blueprint in front of me, and my grin turned to a frown when I noticed the nozzles were still red. "Why is this still red?" I asked as I tapped it again.
"Oh, because it is using my licences to repair the ship, and you have not authorised it to use your own yet."
"Right, of course, adding my one now." I said as I mentally clicked on the new ring and dragged it off my HUD in the direction of the table, the second I mentally let go the nozzles turned green.
"Haha!" I said excitedly as I looked over the room, looking to see what else I could purchase and repair. There was a lot of tubes and piping, all of it was red, I glanced at the tanks, noting they were a big part of making the hydroponics work and were ninety-nine percent red. I started mentally clicking around the room and buying what I needed, they were quickly added as they joined the ring until the entire room was green, I winced when I noticed it had cost me 345 credits.
"Well, at least we can grow our food now." I mumbled
A few moments later, I made a face at all the red still throughout the ship. I noticed on the other side, Clara had leant against the table and was staring at the frigate. However, her eyes were unfocused. I was about to stand up and ask what she was thinking about when I noticed something red near the rear main thruster. My sudden left step, as I reached to grab the thruster, caught her attention, causing her to follow me. But I was ignoring her now as I had pulled the piece closer to myself and was pulling it apart to get a closer look at the little bit of red I had noticed.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
"Oh, damn, good catch Aunty Kenna, if you had flown off with that busted it could have destroyed the entire main thruster once put under a little too much stress."
I nodded my head as I tapped it and glanced at the piece's price tag before turning to look at Clara, and then offered it to her to purchase.
"Oh, I wish I could, but I went over budget with the life support, I mean you had to cover the excess remember?"
I pulled it back towards me and reluctantly mentally clicked the purchase button, losing my last 200 credits, it turned green, and I slowly let go of the entire thing watching it slowly float back to the correct position.
"Well, at least it won't blow up now," I mumbled as I looked at my wallet and winced, I only had 6 credits left.
I noticed Clara typing on the side of the table, and moments after she had finished, the entire ship snapped back into place and looked like a whole frigate again. Then arms and clamps started descending upon it, pulling it apart again.
"What was the point of snapping it all back in place if you're just going to take it apart again?" I asked with a little bit of confusion in my voice.
"Oh, I ended the blueprint and sent it to the dock, now you are watching in real time as the dock fixes the ship."
I turned and rushed over to the window to look outside at the ship, watching panels being pulled off and replaced with new ones.
"These new panels are made of the same stuff the old ones were?" I asked slowly as I turned to look at Clara.
"Yes… and no, you see, while testing the material I found it was made completely out of Roentgenium, very little about this element is known on earth. So I requisitioned a laptop after it was sent up from England. Then I made a phone call to a friend in America, who demanded an exorbitant amount of money before emailing me the CAD program for aerospace. It cost me roughly. $2000. But once I had it, I started using it to flush out ideas I was having and see if they were viable. After a few hours, I moved onto testing the plating off your ship. I found out that it is purer and more stable than anything the public has access to on earth, and if the command table is correct, this one has a staggering shelf life. Honestly, I can't count that high. When I had it put to the test, I found it was incredibly strong, yet somehow still a lightweight material. Then, after a ton of quick simulated tests, I discovered that if Brian used his lightning magic on it while we were purifying it, well it was beautiful to watch. Then the table asked me if I wanted to patent the process and create a licence. I'm not an idiot, so I clicked yes. And that is what your new panels are made out of. They are denser, stronger, more resilient to attacks of all kinds, and improve the ship's stealth capabilities, at least that's what the command table said… I went ahead and had the entire hull replaced with them."
"Seriously?" I asked as I watched the hologram on the table, I was watching the hull being pulled off the ship, the compartments with green in them were quickly exposed, more arms descended to go to work inside them.
"Yep, oh, also I should probably warn you, for the shield emitters I couldn't exactly afford the licence to have them repaired, but I did find a work around that gets the job done."
I turned to stare at her for a few moments as my eyes narrowed in suspicion, after a few more moments of silence I let out a sigh and turned my attention back to the hologram.
"If that comes back to bite me in the ass, I'm coming for you, niece o mine."
"It will be fine, I'm sure of it. I mean, the command table didn't complain when I put it together."
I stared at her again for a few minutes until she started squirming. I finally turned looking back at the blueprint table, watching the eco habitat being worked on as I decided to drop that subject and deal with it later if I had to.
"I have six credits left, what am I going to do with this frigate to earn money so I can fix more stuff." I asked myself.
"Trade, you could use its cargo space for trade or maybe transport of cattle, or even people." a voice said from behind me.
I turned to look at Devon standing in the doorway as he silently watched us. I let out a sigh as I thought about his idea, it wasn't a bad one, but trade usually required having money to buy stuff to sell in order to make money, and I didn't have any money. My eyes landed on the eco habitat as it was slowly put back together. The dock having finished its repairs in that room.
"Hey, Clara, what kinds of seeds are available for the eco habitat and how much would they cost?" I asked slowly, as my brain was quickly trying to flush out an idea.
"Uh, well we have a bunch of potato's up here you can just stick them in a closed system, then use the misters to water their roots. Carrots too if you want some of those. You can also use this method to grow lettuce, spinach, chard and bok choy, to be honest they are excellent choices. Ooh, herbs would be great, basil, mint, cilantro, and parsley really thrive in aeroponics for example. If you want to grow vegetables then tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, strawberries, and melons I hear have been successfully grown using this method. We can easily get you some seeds for these won't cost you anything. I would recommend doing it this way over the hydroponics because of rapid growth, space efficiency and easy harvesting, not to mention aeroponics allows for year-round cultivation. Finally, if you upgrade this room, it will expand. It has something to do with spatial magic and runes of some kind. I don't really understand how that works, but it allows you to grow more food."
"Right, that makes sense, so I will leave that with you?"
"Of course, I will handle that, don't worry." Clara said happily.
"What about the hydroponics? I asked curiously.
"Oh, well it's basically the same thing, except they are not as easy to grow in, it has a slower grow rate than aeroponics, smaller yields and less efficient use of water probably why they are placed towards the back, I could remove them and extend your aeroponics, it honestly would probably be for the best."
"Do it" I said as I continued to watch the hologram.
She nodded her head and started fiddling the blueprint table again, I watched as the hydroponics were removed and replaced with more aeroponics. They flashed green then vanished, and the docks went to work removing the hydroponics systems and replacing them with the much better aeroponics.
"Great, since there is currently only me, I can grow lots of food and sell it."
"Yea, well this section of your cargo hold has been turned into storage for the clone nutrients and that sort of thing, purchasing it was expensive, I mean seriously! You have to charge for its use! Your dad covered it this time, so it's in, then in front of that we have placed clone pods across here with lockers beside each pod. As you can see, if you are going to use the ship for trading, then I suggest adding a wall here, and have a hallway lead from the new clone chamber to a stairwell. What do you think?"
"Alright, add what you need to for that, but what's your point?
