Airsidh smiled softly at me, seeing me wake up. "You kept flipping between hot and cold, running a high fever or being chilled to the bone. Do you think it's something to do with your dragon's blood?"
I sighed. 'Fire and ice… Well, my dark magic comes from the frost moon, so it makes sense I'd have both right?' "It's complicated… But not dangerous… I'm just stressed out."
"Not about the war, you think that's fun."
"What do you see me as? Although… You're not entirely wrong." 'If I gave birth to a dragon, would it need milk? No, that's the whole point of eggs, isn't it? They don't need anything after hatching. Although little dragons need a lot of heat, right? I feel sick again… Maybe I shouldn't be thinking about this…Would he keep his same level of intelligence if he maintains his memories? What about the—'
"So…"
I took a deep breath, relaxing back onto my ankles instead of hanging over the side, placing a hand over my stomach, and closing my eyes. "What do you know about raising babies?"
After a long pause, I opened my eyes again, only when mine and his met did he finally respond. "I helped take care of Lu since she was a newborn, so enough, I suppose…"
I sighed, wiping my mouth with my forearm and letting my head fall to my shoulder. "Having this thing inside of me really is such a pain…" I groaned, letting my eyes rest a bit longer to help with my headache, which suddenly became more apparent. "And it keeps changing my body… As if that wasn't enough, now it's making me vomit too… I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't like wild monster meat that much either, but food is food, you know? We're at war." 'though honestly… I think it was purely psychological… Am I in shock? I can't be sick,my dragons blood made me imune to cantagants.'
I slowly sank onto the side railing before opening my eyes again to see my brother and his horse completely stopped, starting to drift away behind us. "Airsidh?" I reached my arm out and waved, but instead of responding, he just fell off his horse and hit the ground like a sack of bricks. 'Fairy dust… Was it poison? Magic? Are we under attack?' I leapt over the side and ran over to him, quickly checking his pulse and sending a wave of mana to check his status… But everything went back to normal… 'What?' "Air? Hay Air!" 'still nonresponsive…' I gave him a good slap, and his eyes at least started to move again. "Hey, are you alright?" After slowly looking around, he stood up again and straightened out his clothes without so much as a word. "You're kind of freaking me out right now…"
"I'm perfectly fine, no need to worry. Please, focus on your own health."
'What the…' "Did you do that on purpose just to stress me out? Not cool…"
He cleared his throat, mounting up again and helping me onto the back of his horse so we could catch up to the cart. "Me, stress you out… Right… Good one, sis…"
I flicked him in the back of the head. "Why do you suddenly sound like a dead fish?"
He helped me back into the carriage and then slowly laid down on his horse's neck. "Mom's going to kill me… I suppose it's inevitable. I've accepted it… Should I just die now and get it over with? I wonder if she'd be more upset that I died or that she wasn't able to do it herself?"
I let out a growl before slugging him in the shoulder, having to catch him before he fell off his horse again. Grabbing hold of him, I dragged him onto the cart and shook him back and forth. "What. is. wrong. with. you!"
"Nothing. I am at peace. I'm content, and so I can die."
Finally, my grip wore out and I accidentally dropped him, hitting the wagon floor like a dead fish, at least maintaining consitency… "Uh… Sorry…" 'I broke him… But how?' "Hm… Should I tell Lu she can finally use you as a punching bag?" I glanced down at him. "No… Even she would feel guilty seeing you like this…" 'he isn't just messing with me again, right? How could I tell, though? Maybe he got sick? Is that even posible with a constitution as high as his?'
I sighed, sitting him up and calling over Vive and Rune to play with his hair, since they seemed bored with nothing to do. We had demon essence with us, so the monsters stayed far away despite the dangerous road, but… It wasn't like we were in a situation where we could be carefree either… Not that you could tell if you looked at the three of them…
While they were busy with that, I went and grabbed Gild, dragging him back without an explanation, lost in my own thoughts. "Fix him…"

He just shrugged as we climbed in the back. "The heck you want me to do, how'd you break him?"
"Me? I didn't do anything. We were talking, and he just went dead fish mode."
"Maybe that's his thing, you have dragon mode right?"
"I can't even respond to that…"
He crossed his arms, taking a closer look. "It sounds like talking to you was the problem… What EXACTLY did you say?"
I recounted the conversation word for word, and he just lowered his head, shaking it and covering his eyes with one hand. "Siya, are you pregnant?"
"What kind of stupid question is that, whose the father, you?"
He chuckled nervously, inching away. "Good," he said with a swift kick to my brother's side. "Here that? Get up and do something useful."
Light suddenly returned to his eyes, and he sat up with a sigh, perfectly aligning his movements with Rune and Vives' disappointed faces, as if they knew they wouldn't get to mess with his hair anymore.. "Gild is right, I have work to do, so I'll go now."
"Awe… He's leaving?" Rune asked before he rubbed her head and thanked her. Admittedly, it didn't look bad, but I didn't imagine he'd keep it that way for long.
'Was… Is he just trying to be lazy again? Did he pretend just so he could ride in the carriage for a while? I don't get it… He wouldn't actually think… Then again… Or maybe this was all just a lesson to get me to watch what I say more… Holding my head in my hands, I wished the sun would set already so I could rest easier. "Hey, Rune, come give me a hug so I feel better…"
She bounced over without complaint, wrapping her arms around me and quickly going from energetic to sleepy. Looking up, I noticed Vive staring and patted the seat next to me. "You can come over too, you know…"
She sighed and lay down on her own bench, staring up at the sky. "It's hard to share with you when you're tiny. Besides, I'm sure there are plenty of guys way more jealous of her than I am right now."
My spine straightened as my ears rose along with the heat in my face. "What do you mean by that?"
"You don't want me to answer that…"
I closed my eyes for a moment and calmed down before looking at Rune, who was already fast asleep. "There are a few things about you I wish I could learn from, too… A bit Ironic if you're copying even my soul isn't it?"
She awkwardly looked to the side. "So this place we're heading too… It's where you grew up?"
"Not quite, it's where my mom grew up, I grew up with her one province over."
"It feels weird thinking I'll get to meet your family, seeing as how I never had one and you took me in and all."
"Well… My grandparents are cool, at least. I bet you'll like them."
She slowly rolled her head to the side to look at me. "Yeah? I guess I'll look forward to it then…"
'The way she talks… Sometimes it feels like she's more mature than I am… Although goblins do grow up much faster, I suppose, could that be it? No… She's still a kid at heart.' I sighed, looking off into the distance. 'I'm out of thinking energy for today…'
Before long, we rounded the last bend, and a massive, towering wall came into view, large enough to stop a giant from easily getting past at the end of a large clearing. Spanning the length of a football field and with massive towers on each side, the entire thing was lined with ballista… And a few other weapons that looked scary enough, I was almost afraid to ask about. After crossing through the main gate, the path narrowed, and through it we slowly but surely made our way to the end, where a giant tower blocked the path, even taller than the wall and possibly harder to get through because of the terrain. 'They actually managed to build it all? Maybe I should have given them more work. Still, this will be more than enough.'
Upon arriving past the wall, the soldiers immediately set up camp, and I took command of the garrisons there as well, adding about 200 veteran soldiers older in years but nearly on the level of a commander. The first thing we sorted out was food supply, hunting areas for the wyverns, and the plan for the wall defense. Because of the nature of the wall, it wasn't necessary to have more than 500 men stationed there… Honestly, even in those places they felt a little crowded, but they fit quite comfortably when taking into account the walls' double levels, width, and supporting tower in the rear. I also added small makeshift outposts for scouts and archer support up on top of the mountainous terrain.
'My legs are stiff… And my body aches… Of course, I forced my soul in two, so it's not surprising…' I flipped through a clipboard, checking things off. "The designated troops should remain here, everyone else should depart for the city… I'll go there in the morning to handle things in more detail once this is organized. All the wyverns will remain here with me, though."
Looking up, my eyes finally rested from reading the logistical reports. "We need to prepare for a naval battle as well…" 'No doubt they've noticed our navy had taken a hit from fighting the demon. Even if they didn't have magic… Who knows, they might even have flying ships…' I rubbed my eyes.
"You should get some rest, general."
'I slept half the way here…' I sighed, throwing the clipboard to the side atop a large supply crate. "Just go carry out the orders…"
"Yes, sir."
The men in front of me all left, save for Airsidh, who was no doubt just there to say the same thing. "I want you to stay here as well…" I said softly, looking at him.
"I'll just keep following you around for now."
"And if I order you to stay…"
"I haven't graduated… So I'm not really in the military yet, why should I follow your orders?"
"Because I'm the king…"
He rubbed my head before grabbing the clipboard I was looking at and sitting on the crate where it was. "You should get some rest. Most of this stuff can be handled by other people."
"Improperly, you mean…"
"Well… I suppose it is true that you are setting up unconventional means of providing sustainable supplies. Having the wyverns hunt for us is already paying off quite well."
"If you really want me to rest, it would be better if I continued doing stuff like this myself. It's fun for me, but also makes it easier for me to properly track everything."
He sighed. "I don't think you understand the concept of rest…"
