After nearly thirty minutes had passed, Professor Veris returned to the center of the ring, his steps soundless.
He sat, legs folded beneath him, and raised one hand with his palm up.
"That is enough."
A soft ripple of energy swept the hall. The subtle spiritual hum lessened, giving the students the signal to open their eyes.
Many did so slowly, blinking as if waking from a long dream. Some let out quiet exhales. Others rubbed their legs or adjusted stiff shoulders, clearly unaccustomed to stillness.
Professor Veris looked around the ring of seated students.
"Good. Remember what you felt today. That pressure, that stillness, that pulse. You must return to that feeling again and again. Until it becomes familiar. Until it becomes yours."
He paused, his gaze drifting across the room.
"This was your first step on the path of core cultivation. But now, it is time to understand where this path leads."
He patted the smooth ground gently, and a set of translucent glyphs floated above the ring—concentric circles representing tiers of cultivation.
"Spirit beasts evolve their cores differently than you. Their growth is reflected in core changes—from black to white; from obsidian to diamond. But for us, humans… our core color reflects potential, not our current level."
The glyphs shifted. One circle glowed softly, surrounded by finer concentric rings.
"Human progression is not based on color. It is based on quality—density, purity, harmonic balance. These traits determine your rank."
He extended a finger toward the glyphs.
"All of you here are considered Novice Spirit Professionals. Your cores have been awakened, but they are raw. Loose. Unrefined."
The first ring lit up—labeled: Novice.
Then the next few began to shimmer as well.
"From Novice, the spirit professional ranks are as follows: Elite, Adept, Master."
"Each rank is earned not through battle, but through refinement. Patience. Meditation. Advancement of the core structure, not size."
Then he raised his palms upwards, and the glyphs grew more intricate.
"Upon reaching the Master spirit professional rank, your core undergoes a significant transformation—it refines to the point that a spatial chamber forms within it. This chamber is not for weapons or tools but for your spirit beasts."
Murmurs filled the hall.
"From that point onward, you can summon or recall bonded beasts directly from your core space, no physical tether required."
He paused, letting the idea settle. Then, with a faint smile, he asked, "Have you ever wondered where my own spirit beast has been this entire time?"
With a small gesture, a ripple of energy shimmered above his palm—and from it emerged a tiny, iridescent bird no larger than a sparrow. Its feathers glowed with prismatic sheen, and its spirit pressure washed over the room like a quiet tide.
It flew around the chamber for a few laps before Professor Veris returned the beast inside his core space. But before returning, Aston analyzed the beast.

[Spirit Beast: Rainbow Tune Sparrow]
[Type: Avian]
[Attribute: Sound/Light]
[Genus: Auravida]
[Rank: Amethyst Core]
[Potential: Sapphire Core]
[Description: A symbol of serenity and mastery. Despite its small size, its feathers shimmer in iridescent hues, reflecting the ambient emotion and spirit energy of its surroundings. Its calls are more than songs—they are resonant frequencies capable of calming turbulent cores, enhancing focus, and even disrupting enemy techniques by destabilizing their internal resonance.]
[Skills:]
[Harmonic Pulse: Emits a soft wave of sound that restores internal balance to allies, soothing core disruptions and aiding in meditation or spiritual clarity.]
[Sonic Veil: Produces a barely audible vibration that muffles enemy detection and suppresses aggressive spiritual auras within a short radius.]
[Lightfeather Glide: Uses compressed light energy to momentarily hover or evade attacks, leaving behind shimmering afterimages.]
[Tune Disruptor: Unleashes a piercing tone that interferes with enemy spell formations and beast synchronization commands, causing short-term delay or misfire.]
[Prism Note: Fires a concentrated beam of harmonic light that deals moderate spiritual damage while briefly blinding the target.]
[Passive Skills:]
[Resonant Harmony: The Rainbow Tune Sparrow passively aligns with its tamer's spirit core, increasing core efficiency and reducing cultivation strain during meditation.]
[Color of Calm: Its presence reduces anxiety, fear, and aggressive impulses in nearby allies, creating a stabilizing atmosphere in training or combat.]
[Innate Skills:]
[Echo Sync Field: Generates a localized field that mimics the user's current spiritual output, creating phantom pulses that confuse spiritual tracking or detection.]
[Refracted Essence: Splits its energy signature into shifting frequencies, making it harder to lock onto with spiritual sight or target-based abilities.]
[Auric Song: Emits a soft, continuous hum that subtly aligns with the frequencies of nearby allies. While active, it boosts synchronization rate between spirit professionals and their spirit beasts.]
[Core Skills]
[Luminous Song of Stillness: Releases a sacred melody audible only to those with awakened spirit cores. Allies within range experience accelerated recovery from spiritual fatigue, mental exhaustion, and minor core damage. Enemies with unstable cores may suffer from temporary spiritual dissonance, disrupting channeling or meditation.]
[Next skill will be unlocked at Sapphire Core.]

"Once one reaches the end of Master rank, they may once again break through the ranks of Spirit Knight, or simply the Knight rank. This is the threshold where one's influence begins to affect others—where spirit pressure becomes a weapon in itself."
The glyphs shifted again—Knight, followed by Lord, then Baron.
"Knighthood is followed by Lord, then Baron—the first recognized level of spiritual nobility within the Empire. Those who reach Baron are qualified for estate leadership, military command, and access to noble privileges."
More rings appeared, glowing faintly now—higher tiers that seemed distant, almost mythic.
"Above the Baron rank… lie Earl, Marquis, Duke… and finally…"
The outermost ring pulsed violet.
"The King Rank."
Students stirred slightly at the sound of it. Some whispered, some just stared.
Professor Veris spoke with calm finality.
"Only those who awaken with Violet Potential have ever reached King Rank in recorded history. It is not merely a title—it is the domain of living legends."
"And above even the King Rank," Professor Veris said, his voice slowing down, "there exists a realm few dare to speak of—Emperor Rank."
The glyphs faded, replaced by a single, unlit ring.
"Achievable by no more than a handful across all recorded history. The Emperor Rank is said to transcend the very laws that govern human core progression. It is not a title granted by lineage or decree—but by absolute mastery of spirit."
He paused for a moment, letting his words sink in.
"Legends say that the first emperor of our empire, Emperor Vincent Crimsilon, reached this rank, leading the empire to its first Golden Age. His potential, they claim, was not Violet… but Black—a level so overwhelming, even the imperial crystals failed to classify it."
Professor Veris turned away, letting the words echo. "But that is only a legend. And legends… like power, demand proof."
