Immortal God of War

Chapter 246: What are you being so arrogant about_1

"Don't you know the rules?" one of the guards said, frowning.

"The rules?"

Qin Feiyang was confused, but he smiled. "This is my first time in King City. Could you gentlemen enlighten me?"

"First time here?"

"No wonder you look like such a greenhorn."

"Every entry into King City requires one Gold Coin."

The two guards looked him up and down, a hint of disdain in their eyes.

"Just one?"

Qin Feiyang was taken aback. Even though this is the Imperial City of the Ruined Land, isn't that a bit too cheap?

"If you don't have a Gold Coin, you can use a Body-refining Elixir as collateral."

"Surely you have a Body-refining Elixir?"

Seeing that Qin Feiyang hadn't produced a Gold Coin, the two guards assumed he was too poor to afford one.

Qin Feiyang's eyes glinted. He took out three Gold Coins and said with a smile, "Gentlemen, this is all I have. It's all yours. Please consider the extra two Gold Coins a treat for drinks, on me."

The two guards glanced at each other and pocketed the coins without hesitation.

"You know, you're rather sensible, kid."

"If you ever run into any trouble in King City, let us know. We'll help if we can."

Their attitudes did a complete 180-degree turn as they slapped their chests and laughed.

Qin Feiyang chuckled inwardly. Just two Gold Coins made them this happy. This Ruined Land does have its charming side after all.

"Gentlemen, there is actually one thing I'd like to ask you. I wonder if you recognize her…"

With a wave of his hand, an image of a woman quickly materialized.

"Officer Ren!"

The two guards looked up, their faces instantly draining of color in terror.

The surrounding people also turned to look, their eyes filled with reverence.

A chill ran down Qin Feiyang's spine. Could this woman be in King City right now? And does she hold such a high-ranking position?

"How dare you desecrate Officer Ren!"

"Bow your head and await your punishment immediately!"

The two guards turned hostile in an instant, their eyes boring into Qin Feiyang menacingly.

"Desecrate?"

Qin Feiyang was puzzled. "Gentlemen, when have I ever desecrated her?"

"The moment you conjured an image of Officer Ren, you desecrated her!" someone in the crowd shouted.

Qin Feiyang was dumbfounded. That's considered desecration? Just how astounding is this woman's status in King City?

Still, his heart began to race with excitement. He had initially thought he would have to spend a lot of time and energy to find this woman. Yet, no sooner had he arrived in King City than he had a lead.

With a wave of his hand, Qin Feiyang dispersed the image and clasped his fists apologetically. "Everyone, I'm truly sorry. I didn't mean any offense."

"Apologies are useless."

"Gouge out your own eyes, and we might overlook this."

The crowd stared at him fiercely.

Qin Feiyang raised an eyebrow.

He suppressed his anger, turned to the two guards, and smiled. "Gentlemen, to tell you the truth, Officer Ren and I have some history. I came to King City specifically to find her."

"You know Officer Ren?"

The two guards were skeptical. The other people didn't believe him either.

"It's true!" Qin Feiyang vowed earnestly. "Officer Ren once took pity on me and saved my life. I'm here to repay her kindness."

He pleaded and explained at length, finally managing to persuade the two guards.

"Alright then!"

"Considering this is your first offense and you're so sensible, we won't pursue the matter."

"But if you're hoping to repay her kindness, I'm afraid you won't get the chance."

The expressions on the two guards' faces softened considerably.

"Why wouldn't I have the chance?" Qin Feiyang furrowed his brow. Could something have happened to her?

"Officer Ren has a noble status; she won't meet a low-ranking person like you. You'd best give up now!" one guard advised.

"That's right," the other added. "She's the youngest War Emperor in our King City. Even the Family Heads of the major clans in the city often have to wait for six months to a year just to see her."

War Emperor! Qin Feiyang was inwardly astounded. He clasped his fists and said with a smile, "Even if I can't see Officer Ren, I would still like to tour King City and broaden my horizons."

"Go ahead then, but behave yourself, or you might end up dead in the streets," one of them said, waving dismissively.

"Thank you for the warning, sirs."

Qin Feiyang clasped his fists in thanks, then strode through the city gate and onto the streets of King City.

"You damned bastard, daring to block my way! Are you tired of living?"

Up ahead, a young man in his twenties had apparently blocked the path of a burly man. The burly man retaliated by slapping him dead on the spot.

"I saw this first! How dare you try to snatch it? Die!"

Soon after, from a nearby shop, a bloody corpse was flung out onto the street.

Slaughter was truly omnipresent.

Qin Feiyang continued on his way. Within an hour, he had witnessed over a dozen people being killed.

Moreover, these deaths were all over trivial matters. Everyone here seemed to be seething with brutal energy.

Qin Feiyang was already accustomed to such sights. The path of cultivation is inherently cruel. Who is there to blame? Only oneself for being too weak, for one's skills being inferior to others.

He randomly chose a restaurant, called over a waiter, and after some discreet inquiries, finally found out about the woman's situation.

It turned out the woman's name was Ren Wushuang.

Furthermore, she was a Direct Disciple of the "King of Ruins."

The King of Ruins was the one who controlled the entire Ruined Land. He was, in essence, the emperor of the Ruined Land.

Ren Wushuang currently resided in the royal palace within King City.

Having obtained this information, Qin Feiyang wasted no time and headed straight for the royal palace.

The palace was located in the center of King City, spanning a square mile. Although the palace buildings resembled ancient fortresses, they were exceedingly grand and imposing.

In front of the main gate of the palace stood two rows of guards, ten in all. Each one was clad in black armor, holding a seven-foot-long halberd. Their gazes were as cold as ice, and their bodies exuded a chilling, murderous aura.

"HALT!"

"The palace is a restricted area! Unauthorized entry is punishable by death without exception!"

As soon as Qin Feiyang approached, two guards shouted sternly, their long halberds crossing in front of him, the sharp tips of their blades glinting with a bone-chilling light.

Qin Feiyang clasped his fists and said, "Sirs, I wish to request an audience with Officer Ren Wushuang."

"Officer Ren is not someone you are qualified to meet!"

"Go back where you came from and stop causing trouble here!" the two guards barked.

Qin Feiyang frowned, took out the feather, and presented it to the two men with both hands.

"Sirs, please trouble yourselves to deliver this feather to Officer Ren. Once she sees this feather, she will surely agree to meet me…"

However, before Qin Feiyang could finish his sentence, the guard on the left swung his halberd forcefully. Its sharp blade instantly sliced the feather in two.

Qin Feiyang's expression immediately darkened.

The guard snarled, "If you don't get lost now, you'll end up like this feather!"

Qin Feiyang picked up the severed half of the feather, gave the guard a cold glance, then looked up at the palace gate.

"You're courting death!"

Seeing this, the guard's killing intent surged. He swung his halberd vigorously, aiming a slash at Qin Feiyang's waist.

CLANG!

A cold glint flashed in Qin Feiyang's eyes. He instantly drew Blue Snow and met the attack head-on without flinching. Sparks flew as the halberd was immediately sliced in two.

"So sharp!"

All ten guards were dumbfounded, their faces filled with shock.

Qin Feiyang said icily, "Ever since I entered the Ruined Land, I've been tolerating things. I advise you not to push your luck!"

"Audacious!"

"How dare you act so presumptuously at the palace gate! You truly don't know life from death!"

The guard whose halberd had been severed erupted with a terrifying aura. True Qi surged from him like a tidal wave.

"Just a Martial Ancestor?"

"What gives you the right to be so arrogant?"

Qin Feiyang raised an eyebrow, suddenly enraged.

He executed Smoke Step, instantly transforming into an afterimage.

The moment he saw the True Qi, Qin Feiyang had gauged the man's strength. As long as it's not a War King, he fears no one!

SLAP!

Almost in the next instant, a resounding slap landed squarely on the guard's face. He was sent flying, his face swelled up instantly, and a mouthful of shattered teeth sprayed out with blood.

"That speed…"

The remaining nine guards stared in utter disbelief.

"The grand palace gate, guarded merely by Martial Ancestors? How truly pathetic is your Ruined Land?" Qin Feiyang stood proudly, his face full of contempt.

The nine men were furious. In an instant, they unleashed their terrifying auras, tinged with overwhelming killing intent.

CLANG!!!

Wielding their black halberds, they charged at Qin Feiyang in unison.

"HMPH!"

Qin Feiyang snorted coldly, a sneer playing on his lips.

He pushed Smoke Step to its limits. Blue Snow in his hand was invincible!

Accompanied by the harsh clang of metal, in less than ten breaths, the halberds in the hands of the nine men were all destroyed!

"He's that strong?"

The nine men were incredulous.

But the next moment, expressions of avarice crept onto their faces. True Qi surged, and they launched powerful palm strikes, surrounding Qin Feiyang in an attempt to kill him.

As palace guards, they must have mastered Martial Arts Techniques. These men are all Nine-Star Martial Ancestors. Although they possess killing-focused Martial Arts Techniques, they lack auxiliary ones. Although their power is greater than mine, our speeds are almost equal. With comparable speed, I can rely on my formidable combat instincts to evade their attacks. As long as these nine guards don't land a solid physical blow on me, their superior strength is useless. After a few exchanges, Qin Feiyang understood their situation.

Qin Feiyang moved like a slippery loach, constantly weaving between the nine men.

After dozens of breaths, not a single one of them had managed to land a blow on Qin Feiyang.

The commotion grew louder, attracting the attention of passersby nearby. They gathered on the street outside the palace gate, watching the scene with disbelief.

"Where did this young man come from?"

"He actually dares to cause trouble here?"

"He looks to be only about fifteen or sixteen years old."

"Nine palace guards can't even take him down? He's too formidable, isn't he?"

"It's not his strength that's formidable, it's his speed and his combat instincts!"

"Unless someone faster than him appears, or a War King arrives in person, no Martial Ancestor is his match!"

The crowd discussed in surprised whispers, and the number of onlookers continued to grow.

"AH…"

Suddenly, a particularly loud scream pierced the air. A guard, failing to dodge in time, had his arm severed by Qin Feiyang's blade. Blood gushed out like a fountain, spraying three meters away, dyeing the air and the ground red!
