Lina hurried straight to Austin's bedroom, but to her surprise, he wasn't there.
She swiftly checked the adjacent rooms, but he wasn't there either.
Meanwhile, Lily had previously been walking with Lina, but she wasn't with her anymore; Lina had outpaced her friend due to the fear that something might have happened to her husband, and since she couldn't find him anywhere, she became even more worried about what might have happened to him.
But then, she heard the footsteps of some maids heading towards the dining room, and Lina swiftly dashed over there to see why so many maids were gathered together.
Upon arriving at the dining room with her heart in her mouth, Lina looked around to see if she could find Austin.
The maids noticed her and respectfully cleared a path for her, only for her to see Austin sitting casually in front of a large table.
Lina didn't even care about what was on the table or the reason why the maids had gathered around him; the only thing she cared about was seeing that Austin was okay.
"My lady, what's wrong? You're panting a lot."
"I...thought...you were..." Lina tried to speak, but she was unable to catch her breath. When Austin noticed the distress in her eyes, he finally understood what might have caused his wife to look so disoriented.
"I'm sorry, my lady, I asked Lily to call you over because I wanted you to see something. I didn't mean to worry you."
"It's fine, I guess," Lina replied when she was finally able to catch her breath. "I'm just glad to see that you're okay." She stepped closer to him, but then she noticed him patting his thighs, almost as though he wanted her to…
No, no, no.
There's no way he could possibly want her to sit on his lap, right?
Not when all the maids were right behind her, watching them as they talked to each other.
Lina swiftly shook her head, hoping the thoughts in her mind would go away.
But Austin saw how she shook her head when he asked her to sit on his lap, and he couldn't help but ask. "What's wrong? You don't want to sit on my lap?"
"Huh? You want me to sit… on your lap?"
"Of course, I do. My beautiful wife ran all the way here because she was worried about me; the least I can do is pamper her for being the best wife in the world." Austin shamelessly replied as he patted his thighs again, clearly urging her to sit on him.
But Lina's cheeks kept turning red because all the maids were watching them, and she couldn't believe that her husband had clearly called her beautiful in front of all the other girls.
Moreover, he had called her the best wife as well.
So why wouldn't she feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach right now?
With her mind made up on making Austin happy, Lina boldly approached her husband before sitting on his lap, and Austin swiftly pulled her closer to him.
Her soft, plump butt slid across his lap, and Austin tightened his grip around her waist before kissing her cheeks and neck while apologizing once again for making her worried.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I really didn't mean to scare you."
Lina's cheeks and ears reddened even more, and she tried to wiggle free from Austin's grip, but Austin wasn't going to let her do that.
"Hubby...wait...."
"What?" Austin asked in a soft, low, and seductive tone. "What's wrong, my lady? There's no one staring at us right now, so why do you want me to stop?"
"But—" Lina lifted her head and wondered why her husband would say that no one was staring at them and how lovey-dovey he was acting when the maids were obviously standing in front of them.
But when she lifted her head to take a look at the maids, Lina noticed that all the beautiful elven maids were pretending to be blind when they could clearly see what was happening in front of them.
While some seemed to be interested in the walls for no apparent reason, others suddenly began to find the ceiling very fascinating, and the remaining ones were amazed by how smooth the lacquered floor underneath their feet was.
Seeing all these, Lina couldn't help but blink in disbelief.
Meanwhile, Austin was now satisfied with how much he had teased his adorable elven wife, so he decided to plant a long kiss on her cheeks before saying, "I'm sorry, my love. But the real reason I called you over was because I wanted you to be the first to taste this.
Austin picked up the porcelain cup in front of him and gently handed it over to her.
Lina grabbed the cup and wondered what it was, but that was when she finally noticed the strong and sweet aroma that filled the air, and she was certain that it had come from the cup in her hands.
"What is this?" she asked as she stared wonderingly at the glowing, ruby-colored liquid in her cup.
"It's a juice. It's kinda like a fruit punch, but it's a lot sweeter than that. Sana and Mae helped me make it, and I want you to tell me what you think about its taste."
Fruit punch existed in this world, though it wasn't as modernized as the one Austin knew in his previous world, and it definitely wasn't as sweet either, but he knew this was the best description he could give for Lina to understand what she was about to drink.
Meanwhile, Lina glanced back up to see Sana and Mae standing across from them.
Both girls had their tails swishing excitedly behind them because Austin had just praised them in front of everyone, but they were more interested in having a taste of the juice Lina was holding.
Austin hadn't permitted them to have a taste, though, so their mouths had been watering for a while now because of how sensitive their noses were.
Both ladies gulped longingly as they watched Lina lift the cup to take a sip of the juice.
As Lina brought the cup close to her mouth, she could smell the intoxicating scent of the juice.
It was sweet and tangy and had a pleasant kind of smell that she had never perceived before.
But when her lips touched the rim of the porcelain cup, she took a small sip, and her eyes widened the moment the juice touched her tongue.
"...Mmmm...." She let out a soft moan as the juice slid down her throat, and Lina felt like her body was floating in the air.
The feeling was divine.
The juice wasn't just sweet, but it had a refreshing sensation that made her feel like she was standing beneath a waterfall on a hot summer day.
Lina drank even more, and this time, a long, satisfied sigh slipped out of her mouth before she instinctively leaned against Austin's chest.
Seeing this, Austin couldn't help but chuckle as he caressed his wife's cheeks lovingly. "I guess this means you like it?"
Lina's eyes were closed, but a cute smile appeared on her lips as she replied. "Hmm~ I love it."
