Staring at the hairpins that had been handed directly to them, Lina and Mira gasped with their eyes still widened in surprise.

"A proposal....?" Both girls couldn't believe it, but with the hairpins in their hands, they could only interpret what Austin had done as a proposal, and Austin assured them with his response.

In the traditions of the Rin Empire, gifting a jade hairpin to a woman, was a way of proposing to the woman, and letting her know that you were prepared to spend your life with her.

It was similar to how men would offer diamond rings to the women they loved in his previous world.

This was a similar gesture Austin had done right now.

But when Lina and Mira had realized what he'd just done, both girls immediately leaped onto Austin, before tackling him down on to the grass.

"You sneaky, romantic idiot."

"You really know how to surprise us."

Both ladies whispered and planted kisses on his lips, cheeks and face.

Austin laughed heartily, as he got tickled by their kisses and affection. "Okay, okay! ladies , wait. I surrender! You both win!" Austin admitted defeat but neither of his wives were ready to stop right now.

He had made them the most happiest women tonight, and there was no way they won't return the favor.

Austin's hearty laughter continued to echo through the night, while his wives continued to smother him with kisses until they were breathless.

The next morning, the first rays of sunlight filtered into Austin's room through his wooden lattice window.

Currently, Austin stood before a polished mirror as he slowly fastened the final belt around his blue and golden colored ceremonial robe.

Just as he was about to adjust his collar, Austin suddenly heard a knock on his door.

*Knock* *Knock*

"Come in." Austin called out and his bedroom door slowly slid open, with Sue stepping in with a radiant smile on her face.

Her long brown hair had been tied back into a knot and her cow-like ears twitched playfully atop her head.

Sue's tail swayed excitedly as her blue eyes scanned Austin from head to toe.

"Well, well, well." she teased as she stepped closer to him with a grin on her lips. "Aren't you just the most handsome groom I've ever seen? If I weren't your aunt, I'd be throwing myself at you right now."

Austin rolled his eyes with a laugh. "Be careful, what you say Aunt Sue. The walls have ears and your words could easily be a gossip topic for all the maids in the mansion."

"Well, I'm simply teasing and I'm sure even the walls would know when your Aunt is just teasing you."

Austin smiled but didn't say anything further on the topic.

Then Sue got close enough to remove the dust on his sleeve as her tone shifted softly to a more serious tone. "I'm so proud of you, Austin. I truly am. I just wish your mother was here to see this. She would've cried, smiled, and probably scolded you for not brushing your hair enough."

Austin smiled and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist to hug her. "Thank you, Auntie. For everything. I'm glad you're here with me now."

Sue hugged him tightly as well and her tail slowly wrapped around his waist for a second before she pulled away.

"Alright, dear. Enough sappy talk. It's time to go. Your brides are probably dazzling everyone by now."

Austin took one last look in the mirror, and adjusted his robe.

But Sue stepped back slightly, and brushed something from the corner of her eye before composing herself again. "Are you ready to go?"

Austin nodded and the two of them stepped out of the room.

Just outside of the Jade Swallow Estate, a gentle breeze whispered through the silk banners strung from tree to tree.

Each one we're dyed in shades of Jade, pink and white.

And flower petals were lined across the stone walkways.

Even garlands of sweet-scented blossoms were wrapped around the wooden pillars of the ceremonial pavilion, which happened to be at the center of the Jade Mansion's courtyard.

The Jade Mansion renovation had finally been completed, and it was where the ceremony would be taking place today.

Tonight would also be when Austin and his wives, along with his retainers, would officially move into the mansion.

And right now, the ceremonial music had begun.

Soft, melodic flutes and the rhythmic best of hand drums echoed through the air.

It mingled with the rustling leaves as villagers, small nobles and retainers all made their way to the Jade Mansion.

Many of them were dressed in their finest ceremonial robes and a sea of faces looked on from a respectful distance.

Their faces were filled with joy and admiration and everyone couldn't wait to see the groom and his beautiful brides.

Even Lord Han's maids, guards and a few elderly farmers had gathered here to witness what many believed to be the dawning of a new era.

Meanwhile, inside one of the preparation chambers near the pavilion, Elena stood between her daughters.

Both Lina and Mira were currently dressed in their stunning ceremonial robes.

Lina wore a pearl white and Jade colored robe while her silver colored hair had been woven into a loose braid.

Mira, on the other hand, wore a pink and golden colored robe which had the image of twin swallow bird flying, just like her sister.

But Mira's blonde hair was styled into an elegant bun and her sash, around her waist, had been tied into a perfect bow by her sister .

Both sisters stood in front of a mirror and admired their robes while their mother stood between them.

Elena was wearing a deep blue ceremonial robe which was beautiful in its own right but she was more pleased with what her daughters were wearing for their wedding.

She slowly held each of my her daughter's hands and stared at the mirror once again.

"You two look..... Just like I imagined on the day you were born." Elena's voice trembled as she managed to smile through the tears that pooled on her eyes.

Lina stepped closer and gently wiped her mother's cheek. "Mother.....are you crying again?"

"Yes, I am. It's my right to cry today." Elena replied with a soft laugh. "My two beautiful babies have grown into such incredible women... and now the two of you are marrying a man who truly deserves you both. Today is truly a blessed day."

Mira leaned in and hugged her mother tightly. "Thank you for everything mom. We couldn't have been here without you."

Elena kissed both of their foreheads and then she stepped back before composing herself.

Then a pair of maidens opened the double doors of the room chamber.

The loud music playing outside got louder and Elena turned her attention toward her beautiful daughters.

"It's time." She whispered and then extended her arms for both Lina and Mira to take one each.

Elena grabbed hold of their hands and she guided them towards where the ceremony would be held.

As they stepped into the courtyard, the loud crowd instantly became silent the moment they noticed their presence, and Lord Han joined his wife in escorting their daughters.

Dozens of flower petals fell from the nearby trees as Lord Han and his wife escorted their daughters down the long pathway and toward the ceremonial stage.

Seeing this, all the villagers bowed low, while some maids clutched their hands over hearts and the remaining maids could be seen wiping tears from their eyes

But while all these were happening, the guards remained as they were, while they watched with pride as the Han household members walked beneath the shade of the pavilion roof.

Standing underneath the pavilion was Austin, as he straightened his robes one more time, nervously.

The sounds of soft flutes and zithers continued to whisper soothingly in the air as he watched his wives approach him elegantly.

The moment they got close to him, the music stopped and his wives winked at him, hoping it would be enough to make him seem less nervous.

He was getting married to two extremely beautiful elven girls, so Austin had every right to be nervous on his special day, but seeing how relaxed his wives were, Austin couldn't help but remain calm as well.

After all, starting from today, after his wedding, Austin was without a doubt, the head of his new household.

First of, without a doubt, I really enjoy writing this novel, and building its world as well.
