The clouds settled.
The elements danced before reaching a tranquil balance in space.
And slowly, the world regained its previous silence.
In the middle of it all was Galand; however, his gaze drifted to the hollow skies with confusion.
"Warn Typhoon?..." He didn't know what the ancient demigod meant by asking him to warn a dead man.
But it wasn't much of his concern.
'This is the first time I'm acting so foolish,' Galand thought, letting out a choked chuckle.
Red blood painted the earth as his laugh turned into a cough.
He had sacrificed his life force (Aetheris) to bring a demigod.
That was something he never used and was only allowed to call upon in dire situations.
However, seeing Vesha unconscious and her life being threatened by the stupid fox before him…
He didn't regret using the power one bit.
That moment stirred something within him.
His loyalty had wavered—all for his comrade.
He didn't know how, but after spending so much time with Vesha, somewhere along the way, their camaraderie had turned into something else.
'And here I was thinking I didn't care. How laughable,' Galand thought.
"If you wanted to kill me, at least you should've informed me, so it would be a fair fight."
His thoughts were suddenly cut by a voice from the side.
Floating inside a blue shield was Kim.
He had a neutral expression on his face, but Galand knew the vice president must've been disturbed by the power he had revealed.
Still, the two didn't want to talk about it.
"You've used up all your energy dealing with this beast… Thankfully, backup is already here. I would've been worried if you planned on leaving all the rest for me to handle alone," Kim said.
Behind him, several figures descended from the sky.
All the Captains and Vice Captains of the factions had arrived.
Galand looked up with a smile, but then they all felt a terrifying pressure from the side.
Kim and all the faction Captains felt it instantly.
Their heads snapped toward the source of the unsettling energy.
Kim instinctively raised his hand, ready to attack.
But when they saw a young man, they all paused.
He quickly recognized the boy.
'Isn't that the boy from the Blue Fang faction? Who are those with him?'
Jacob and Anita recognized him as well, but they were just as confused by the people at his side.
The boy emitted no energy, but those with him…
Their energy was unsettling and frightening.
A look of realization flashed in their eyes as they noticed the pointed ears of the man and the lady carrying him.
'Elves.'
Everything seemed to make more sense seeing the highly intelligent race before them.
It wasn't absurd to think the elves must have had a way to tamper with the tower portal.
The elves had always been a truly unpredictable race.
Kim's expression turned grim as he saw Kieran with the group that had arrived.
'Are they using the kids as hostages?'
Kim took a moment, straightened his suit, and dragged in a deep breath.
"You have our people with you. Please let them go so we can avoid any issues," Kim said with a stern voice.
He was already prepared to take on the elf.
The elf looked worn out from a fight, and Kim couldn't help but wonder who had inflicted such damage on him.
But there was no answer to his thoughts.
Castan turned to Kieran, as though waiting for a reply.
The momentary pause left everyone confused.
How were they all suddenly waiting for a kid to respond?
Kieran didn't care about the gazes on him as he spoke casually. "They're with us."
Castan let out a tired sigh. "Thank goodness. At least we don't have to worry about dealing with anyone again."
Kieran could still see the look of confusion on the faces of his seniors.
"Vice Kim, the issue has been dealt with. You don't have to stress yourself," Kieran said with a bright smile.
"The issue has been dealt with? You've got to be kidding me… We still have some elves in front of us!" the captain of the family said with a dark face as flames sparked to life in his hands.
Kieran frowned, seeing the man. He still had bad blood with that idiot family, and it seemed as though they'd take any chance to rub it in his face.
Almost as though reading his mind, Alexa threw a sharp glare at the man who conjured the flames.
Her cold gaze sent a chill through the air.
Almost instantly, his flames died out.
"Are your ears not functional? The issue has been dealt with," Alexa said, her gaze lingering on the captain.
He gulped hard, staring at his hands in bewilderment.
He was one of the strongest members of the Nelkon family.
Yet his flames had been quenched with a mere glance.
He couldn't find his voice for a good five minutes.
But as Alexa shifted her gaze away from him, he seemed to regain some of his confidence.
'It must be because I wasn't prepared to fight. There's no way she can quench my flames… She's only giving off an unsettling pressure,' the Nelkon Captain convinced himself, a mocking scoff escaping his lips.
He crossed his arms over his chest.
"You should thank your good fortune that you didn't cause any trouble. And I just hope you didn't harm any important figure, else the Nelkon family would've dealt with you personally."
His boastful voice echoed through the air.
Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately for him, this man had no idea who he was talking to.
A divine beast who could raze down a fifth of the entire Nelkon family without much effort.
They weren't common, and only a few had seen these powerful beasts that could tear down nations.
Alexa's brows furrowed at the man's words.
She wanted to burn the idiot alive for having the guts to talk to her in such a way.
But before she could, Kieran's calm voice came from the side, a mischievous smile cutting across his face.
His voice dripped with sarcasm as he said, "Of course, no important figure was harmed. Only three kids—and it just so happened that I was the one who did it. But I only injured them."
