Standing right in the middle of the farm, Jared suddenly received a notification from the system.
[The blue dragon has returned to her master.]
'The blue dragon? Paimon?'
It was dark, so it became easier to spot the shining light in the sky.
Hundreds of them, shining and moving closer to him.
'What the hell?'
[You are currently using the skill Foresight.]
Using his skill, he was able to zoom in on the shining substance speeding toward his direction. It was then he saw them—Paimon and over one hundred lizard men.
While she looked extra excited, the rest seemed as if they wanted to come fight a war.
Jared was confused.
Sure enough, he forgot Paimon was supposed to return that day... But still... He didn't expect her to bring this many soldiers.
"Masterrrrrr~"
She screamed in the sky, her dark wings flapping in the air as she began to descend.
The thought to simply summon a barrier in front of him crossed his mind. Then again, Paimon did seem way too excited.
With a sigh, he accepted the outcome willingly.
Bash!
Paimon landed on him, slamming his back to the ground while she sat down on his belly, hugging him.
"Masterrrrr! I missed you sooooo much~!" Paimon giggled excitedly.
'Of course you do. Women sure are weird.'
Lifting herself up, she sat down on his guts comfortably, both hands resting on Jared's chest.
"I expected you to be asleep by now. Why are you awake?"
"... inspecting."
"Inspecting?"
"Yes. See? This place is a farm; I just came to see if it's going well."
"Ehh? That's unacceptable." Paimon pulled her face closer, "My master, whom I serve, should not be handling such mundane tasks."
'Dragons are sure a handful.'
[The god of dragons eyes you with suspicion.]
"Oh, I know..." Paimon smiled, "let me introduce you to your new slaves; they'll help you with the tasks so you don't need to anymore!"
She stood up and pulled him along.
Now standing behind her, Jared got a good view of the lizard men hovering in the sky before him.
Like flying ants, they covered the sky.
Their wings emitted mana with each flap they did. That explained why they glowed while they flew.
Jared thought they looked more like dragons than lizard men, and he was somewhat right.
[You are currently using the god of information.]
[Character profile:
Name: Rubout, higher lizard man.
Abilities: martial arts, flight, combat awakened, entrance maxed, etc.
Special abilities: Blessing of the dragon god.
Rank: 6 stars.
Occupation: Soldier of the Primordial dragon, Paimon.
Current mood: Respectful and happy.]
'Oh? They have a six-star? So I'm guessing he's the strongest here.'
He wasn't wrong.
Jared used the god of information to check the rest of the lizard men, and not a single one was over five stars.
Still, with such an army, he could take out half of the northern village if he wished to.
[Loyalty: 100%]
Seeing as their loyalty was through the roof too, he didn't need to worry about them betraying him, unless it suddenly reduced along the line.
Suddenly—
"My faithful followers of the dragon god, right before you stands my master! The one and only man who was capable and strong enough to tame me, the blue dragon!"
Paimon shouted to the soldiers.
Jared, on the other hand, gave her the stink eye, wondering why she didn't just introduce him as the leader rather than hyping him.
"According to the law of the world, since he tamed me, it means he also rules over you. And that also means, if I win the battle between my siblings, he will be the next ruler of the dragon realm. You, soldiers of the dragon god, will be the first to serve under him; you should be grateful."
None of the soldiers said a word, but Jared could feel their judgmental stares.
The fact they were loyal to him because he was Paimon's master didn't exactly mean they would respect him right off the bat.
To them... He was still a human.
Though he deserved some praise for taming the second most powerful dragon in the dragon realm... Did that mean he was a capable leader?
One of them spoke, the one who bore the name Rubout, the six-star rank warrior.
"I have a question to ask, mother queen." He paused for a while, "Will we be performing the Vaoi le Bali?"
Jared's eyes widened in shock.
Vaoi le Bali was a way people chose leaders back in the day in the demon realm.
A leader would battle the strongest follower he had in order to prove he was worthy enough for the rest to follow and respect.
People from the demon side of the world were the most loyal subordinates to have. But ever so rarely did you see them serving anything weaker than they were.
Paimon paused.
With a frown on her face, she raised a finger, calling Rubout to come down to her.
Of course, Rubout did as he was asked. She didn't need to tell him twice.
The moment he got in front of her—
Bang!
She gave him a knock on the head, one that sent him flying and crashing into some plants.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you trying to embarrass me in front of my master?! Are you claiming he is not strong enough for you to follow? You're trying to insult my choice, aren't you? You think I chose wrong?!"
Veins popped out from the side of her head.
Despite bleeding, Rubout still went to his knees, his voice calm with his head slightly bowed.
"No, mother queen. I only thought we were going to follow tradition like we normally do in our hometown. My soldiers are willing to follow you to the ends of the earth. But the Master is not one of us; the soldiers are skeptical."
His reply only made Paimon even angrier.
"What? Who are they? The ones who dare question my master! Bring them out!"
Many of the lizard men began to shake, fear gripping them from the inside out. They could feel Paimon's aura eating away at their skin, as if about to crush their hearts.
But then...
Jared placed his hand on Paimon's shoulder, calming her down.
"Relax, you shouldn't get all worked up."
Paimon looked at him, her anger clearing away almost instantly.
"Master... they are insulting you. You shouldn't take that from them. You are greater than anyone here!"
"Yeah, but they don't know that, do they?"
"Eh? Are you..."
Jared stood a few steps forward, now positioned in front of Paimon.
"Alright. If any of you wish to battle me to see if I am indeed worthy to be your king, then I have no objections. You are free to do as you please. I will challenge any one of you!"
He yelled to them.
Paimon, a smile on her face, could not help but feel even more admiration for her master.
Now rising to his feet, Rubout closed the distance between them.
"Thank you, Master, for giving me the honor to partake in the Vaoi le Bali."
Jared replied...
"No issue. Come at me any time you're ready."
[The god of combat agrees with this scenario.]

[The god of dragons agrees with this scenario.]
[4000 coins have been donated.]
Jared smiled.
He already knew the god of dragons would be excited for something like this.
[The god of combat has offered a blessing.]
[The master of prediction.]
[You can now predict your opponent's move three seconds into the future.]
And he knew the god of combat would feel the same.
Silence took over for a while, the soldiers anticipating how the fight would play out.
"Here I come..."
Rubout opened his palm, allowing a golden spear to appear in his grasp.
As soon as he grabbed it, he launched himself forward, leaving a large boom behind him.
Before the tip of his spear could stab Jared, he grabbed it, stopping it from stabbing him.
"You're pretty fast..." said Jared with a straight face.
[You have activated the skill Will of a Dragon.]
He pulled Rubout close, slamming his face into his fist.
As Rubout fell to the ground, he charged forward, chasing after him like a predator.
Rubout tried to find his balance as he stumbled, but little did he know Jared was already on his tail.
Right above Rubout—
[You have activated the skill, Elemental Manipulation.]
Swiping his hand in the air horizontally, Jared sent a rain of fireballs down on Rubout.
The first few definitely connected, as seen by the slight grimace on Rubout's face. But after that, Rubout activated his skill that placed a strong skin around his body that absorbed much of the damage.
Finding out he was out of danger, he did a flip, trying to create enough space between himself and Jared.
Unfortunately, Jared already knew this and was waiting for him right behind...
[You have activated the skill Super Nova...]
'How did he?...'
Before he could complete his thoughts, Jared touched him at the back gently.
And then...
Boom!!!
