Supreme Game: Antimagic Apocalypse

Chapter 49: Combat Power Test

Inside, Raizel and the other four applicants found themselves standing before three individuals, each exuding an intimidating presence.

The first was a woman clad in expensive yet durable gear, the clanking of her golden armor echoing with each movement. Despite the evident weight of her equipment, she moved effortlessly, a clear sign of her strength and experience.

Raizel's sharp gaze assessed her immediately. she was no ordinary Examiner. Nor the other two men.

The applicants beside him broke into hushed whispers, their eyes filled with awe and nervous excitement as they recognized her.

"Isn't that the famous A-Ranker who's partnered with the Curse Monarch Violetta?"

"Yeah, that's Sage Golden Camila."

"Incredible! To think we'd see such a legendary figure during our entrance test. This is really an honor."

"Yes... but doesn't that mean our test just got much harder? Don't you see how few of us made it here? There were almost hundred applicants at the start."

"That's true... now I'm really starting to get nervous."

Raizel remained silent, but the overwhelming pressure radiating from the trio was impossible to ignore.

They exuded strength and experience, their presence alone enough to command respect. These were seasoned warriors, veterans of countless battles.

"Silence, please," the woman said calmly, her tone firm yet composed. She flipped through a set of documents before addressing the group.

"Welcome to the Guild Recruitment Examination. As you may already know, there are four tests required to become a member of the Apex Guild. And you have all successfully passed the first two, so I won't waste time explaining them."

Her sharp gaze swept over the group, assessing their reactions.

Some applicants remained composed, others nodded attentively, while a few fidgeted with nervous anticipation.

Her eyes paused on Raizel for a brief moment before she continued, "The third test will assess your combat power without any activation of your spells."

At that moment, one of the men stepped forward, rolling out a large machine. He gave it a firm pat before addressing the group.

"This is a strength-testing device. Many players ignore physical Stats after getting their Class. But our Apex Guild demands the best. So each of you will take turns striking it with a punch. A score of 100 or higher is required to pass. Understood, rookies?"

Raizel and the others nodded, their expressions filled with confidence. Scoring 100 seemed easy enough.

But before anyone could get too comfortable, the other examiner spoke up, his voice firm.

"Don't take this lightly, rookies. Scoring 100 isn't as easy as you think. I strongly advise you to give it your all."

His sharp gaze swept over them before he continued.

"You each have three attempts, and your highest score will be recorded. Now, let's begin.

You, red hair—step forward."

The red-haired young man clicked his tongue in annoyance, as if cursing his bad luck for being first.

Still, he quickly recovered, flashing a confident smile as he stepped forward.

The red-haired boy took a deep breath, clenching his fist tightly as he prepared to strike the red center of the device.

When he was ready, his arm shot forward.

"Bam!"

All eyes turned to the screen, eager to see his score.

And what they saw left them stunned.

< Combat Power 84 >

Mouths dropped open in shock.

Given the confidence he had displayed earlier, everyone assumed he would pass with ease. Yet, seeing the result, some even rubbed their eyes in disbelief.

The young man himself was in utter disbelief.

"Only 84?" he muttered, his gaze snapping toward the examiner with suspicion. "Sir, is this device working properly?"

The examiner snorted. "There's no mistake, young man. Should we record this as your final score?"

"Ah, no, no! Of course not…" The red-haired boy quickly shook his head. Trying to mask his embarrassment, he forced a chuckle. "I might not have been fully prepared. I'll go for my second attempt, Examiner."

"Go on," the left examiner said, his lips curling into an amused smile.

Meanwhile, the golden-armored woman remained expressionless, as if unimpressed by the scene unfolding before her.

"Bamm!"

This time, the red-haired young man put everything he had into his punch. His skin flushed red, and his breathing grew irregular from the strain.

< Combat Power: 97 >

A deep frown creased his forehead. He was still three points away from passing. Frustration was evident on his face.

With no other choice, he went for his third and final attempt.

This time, he took a few steps back, adjusted his stance, and then lunged forward with all his strength.

"Bang!"

< Combat Power: 103 >

A sigh of relief escaped his lips. He flashed a victorious grin at the others, standing tall as if expecting praise.

Instead, laughter filled the room.

The black-haired girl broke into soft giggles, mocking his unnecessary struggle.

Raizel chuckled as well, but not out of ridicule—he was just uncertain whether he himself could pass. After all, he had never tested his strength before.

The examiner, unfazed by the display, simply jotted down some notes and said,

"Alright, you pass. Next!"

Then the hesitant young man stepped forward.

Unlike the red-haired boy, he had barely made it to the 30th floor using every trick in the book. Now, he wasn't sure if he could even come close to passing this test.

Still, he took a deep breath, steadied his nerves, and prepared himself to the best of his ability.

He wasn't allowed to use spells, so he had to give it his all from the beginning.

As such, he sped forward to gather momentum and then struck with full force, unlike the red-haired young man who realized the trick too late.

"Bam!"

[ Combat Power: 77 ]

The young man glanced at the screen, and his expression deflated like a balloon. All that hard preparation, and he only had 77 ?

He hadn't given up yet.

He struck once again, but the result was still as disappointing.

[ CP: 81 ]

Once again, he roared, his bloodshot eyes filled with indignation.

[ CP: 84 ]

That was the best he could do...

"Samuel Rogers, step aside!"

The man said loudly, bringing an end to his hope.

He stood aside, his eyes cast low as if his failure was final.

"Raizel Ashblade, step forward."

Finally, it was Raizel's turn.
