Re:Crafting in Another World

Chapter 154: Rising threat

The air outside the dungeon was thick with damp trees and the faint hum of eastern wind. Hidden behind a cluster of jagged rocks on the surface, Rilith, Velara, and Ka'ra crouched low, their eyes fixed on a group of humans stumbling through the flickering torchlight. The humans, clad in mismatched armor and carrying worn weapons, moved cautiously, unaware of the eyes tracking their every step.

It was obvious they were not soliders of nations, rather they weer curious explorers that came to claim the treasure of the newely established dungeon that brought disaster about the land of Sturgon. Were they foolish or brave was yet to find out.

Rilith clutched her succubi nails tightly. "Shennong told us to protect this dungeon," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the distant drip of water. "But with everything going wrong… Sasa's supposed to guard the first floor, and even she's asbent. Is it really wise to confront these humans without knowing their strength?"

Velara with crimson wings folded against her back, nodded grimly. Her tail flicked nervously. "She's right, Ka'ra. The wild monsters on the first floor have been out of control lately. It's been hard for us to keep things together, too."

Ka'ra, a towering orc with braided hair and a massive axe slung across her back, snorted softly. "Don't worry so much. The orcs are holding the forest outside just fine. These humans don't look like much. We can handle them if they get too close."

Rilith's brow furrowed. "It's not just the humans and explorers. The first floor is a mess. Those monsters are acting wilder every day. I hope Shennong finds a solution soon."

Velara's eyes softened. "He will. Shennong always does."

Ka'ra grunted in agreement, her gaze returning to the humans. "Look at them, bumbling around like lost pups. If they're this careless, they won't last long."

Rilith opened her mouth to reply but froze. Her sharp eyes caught movement in the shadows beyond the human group. Velara stiffened beside her, her wings twitching. Both women exchanged a glance, their faces paling as a new group emerged from the darkness—a trio of women, their movements fluid and hypnotic, their eyes glowing faintly in the dim light.

"Succubi," Rilith hissed, her voice trembling. "Another group of succubi."

Velara's tail lashed violently. "How? Where did they come from? Why are they here?"

Ka'ra's brow furrowed, her hand tightening on her axe. "What's wrong? Who are they?"

Rilith's voice dropped to a frantic whisper. "Those aren't just any succubi. They're from the otherworld just like us—a dangerous coven. This isn't a fight we can win alone."

Ka'ra's eyes narrowed, her orcish pride flaring. "With me here, we can take them. If they're hostile, we'll crush them."

Rilith shook her head, sweat beading on her forehead. "No, Ka'ra. We can't fight them. Not now. If we do, we'll draw too much attention. We need to wait until Yenissa recovers. With her here, those succubi wouldn't dare challenge us. It's foolish to fight them without knowing who they are under."

Velara nodded, her voice shaky. "Yenissa's magic and authority is the only thing they fear. Without her, we're sitting ducks."

Ka'ra growled but relented, her eyes flicking back to the scene unfolding below.

The humans, oblivious to the danger, continued their trek through the dungeon. The succubi—three women with flowing hair, shimmering skin, and eyes that promised forbidden delights—glided closer. Their presence was intoxicating, the air around them humming with seductive energy. The leader, a tall woman with raven-black hair and a crimson dress that clung to her curves, smirked as she approached the human group.

One of the humans, a young man with a scruffy beard, froze as the succubi drew near. "Who… who are you?" he stammered, his sword lowering slightly.

The lead succubus tilted her head, her lips curling into a sultry smile. "Oh, sweet thing, no need for weapons. We're just… passing through. Care to join us for a little fun?"

Her voice was like honey, dripping with promise. The other humans, a mix of men and women, hesitated, their eyes glazing over as the succubi's charm took hold. The second succubus, a blonde with a playful grin, sauntered forward, her fingers trailing along the arm of a female warrior. "You look tired," she purred. "Why not rest with us for a while?"

The warrior blushed, her grip on her spear loosening. "I… I suppose we could…"

The third succubus, with fiery red hair and a mischievous glint in her eyes, giggled as she circled another man, her touch light but electrifying. "Come now, don't be shy. Let us show you pleasures you've never dreamed of."

The humans, caught in the succubi's spell, dropped their weapons one by one. The dungeon's damp air grew heavy with desire, the humans' protests fading into soft murmurs of compliance. The lead succubus leaned close to the bearded man, her lips brushing his ear as she whispered something that made his knees buckle. He sank to the ground, a dazed smile on his face, as the other succubi playfully toyed with their prey.

Rilith, Velara, and Ka'ra watched in horror from their hiding spot. Velara's wings trembled. "They're not even fighting," she whispered. "The humans are just… letting them."

Ka'ra's jaw clenched. "Can you guys do that? I've never seen you do that."

Velara looked at Kara. "We stopped praying on humans after meeting Shennong because he is all we need...but before meeting him...we used to be like that with humans,"

The scene took a darker turn. The lead succubus, her smile turning predatory, placed a hand on the bearded man's chest. "You've been so cooperative," she murmured. "But we're a little… impatient."

Before the man could react, her nails extended into sharp claws. With a swift, brutal motion, she plunged them into his chest. His gasp was cut short, his body crumpling lifelessly to the ground. The other humans, still entranced, didn't even flinch. The blonde succubus laughed softly, licking her lips as she watched the life drain from the man.

Rilith's hand flew to her mouth, stifling a gasp. Velara's eyes widened in terror. "They're killing them," she whispered. "Just like that."

Ka'ra's grip on her axe tightened, but Rilith grabbed her arm. "Don't. We can't fight them now. Not without Yenissa. There's no way it's just only three. There are more."

The red-haired succubus, wiping blood from her fingers, tilted her head toward the leader. "Where to next, Lyma? This lot was fun, but they're not what we're looking for."

Lyma, the lead succubus, scanned the dungeon with a calculating gaze. "We need to find the human called Sir Juno, as we weer ordered." she said, her voice smooth but commanding. "The best knight of the Sturgon. He has answers we seek—the Tear to the Otherworld."

The blonde succubus pouted. "Do we have to? These ones were so… entertaining."

Lyma's eyes glinted. "Patience, Mira. The Tear is worth more than a few moments of play. Let's move."

With a flick of her wrist, Lyma summoned a shimmering portal. The succubi stepped through, their laughter echoing as they vanished into the darkness, leaving the humans' bodies behind.

Rilith, Velara, and Ka'ra remained frozen, the weight of what they'd witnessed pressing down on them. Velara's voice trembled. "Sir Juno? The Tear to the Otherworld? What are they planning?"

Rilith's face was pale, her hands shaking. "This is worse than I thought. Shennong needs to come back. Now."

Ka'ra's eyes burned with frustration. "We should've fought them. I could've taken at least one!"

Rilith shook her head. "No, Ka'ra. You saw what they did. They didn't even break a sweat. We need Yenissa. Without her, we're no match for the these sister of ours. they are probably under her...I don't want to imagine what it would be like if she came here."

Velara's tail curled around her leg, a nervous habit. "What do we do now? Just wait?"

Rilith's gaze hardened. "No we make sure Yenissa recover first and she will give the orders what to do with these succubi."

Meanwhile, deep within a secluded grove, Shennong stood on the edge of a vast training ground, his eyes fixed on Romina. She stood motionless in the center, her eyes closed, her body radiating a faint, otherworldly glow. Several mages, their robes shimmering with arcane runes, formed a circle around her, their hands raised as they chanted softly. The air hummed with energy, the ground beneath Romina pulsing with intricate sigils.

Facing her was Manola, her presence commanding despite her calm demeanor. Her hair glinted in the moonlight, and her staff crackled with latent power. Shennong's brow furrowed as he watched, his mind racing. "What a strange turn of events," he murmured to himself, his voice barely audible over the mages' chants.

Overseer was nowhere to be seen, but Shennong couldn't help wondering what she had done to Romina. Right now, Romina didn't even look like herself; rather, it seemed as if she were truly the most dangerous thing he had seen. The feeling was similar to what he experienced when looking at Genie or Yenissa.
