Mr. Tycoon's Daring Wife

Chapter 188 Suit Jacke

There were some things that Zhao Lifei wanted to personally check at Sky Arc Complex, more specifically, her piano. She had it ever since she was a child and it had been with her through thick and thin, even when she ceased her presence in the spotlight.

Yang Feng drove her back there to ensure her security and luckily, Zhao Moyao's men were not there yet. Everywhere they went, they seemed to attract attention, or more, in particular, Yang Feng was.

The female employees in the lobby couldn't help but pause and admire his god-like features.

"Pst, pst, Xiao Rong, look at him!"

"So handsome…"

"Which Korean drama did he walk out of?"

"Wooow…"

Usually, when Yang Feng came here, he was always surrounded by his men holding off the security, but this time, he was finally accompanied with Zhao Lifei, so there was no need for the security guards to step forward.

Zhao Lifei was fully-aware of the whispers because of the oblivious hunk beside her. She glanced up and her heart thumped in surprise when she saw he had been staring at her for a while now. As a matter of fact, he had not taken his eyes off of her for quite a while now.

"What?"

"What, what?"

Zhao Lifei scowled at his cheeky response, turning her head back to the elevator. Soon, it dinged open and the two stepped in, pressed the button to their floor, and went upstairs. She performed the tiring and long entry routine and was finally able to unlock her door. She flickered on the lights and was about to walk to her room to grab a few things when she suddenly felt a heavy force on her sleeves.

"Whose suit jacket is that?"

Zhao Lifei could feel a chill crawl up her spine at his menacing voice. She warily turned around…

His perilous expression was scarier than the eighteen torturous layers of hell [1]. His eyes were narrowed, rigid, and set ablaze. At that moment, she thought she was done for. He glowered at her as if she was the enemy. She had seen him give that stare to others, but never expected it to land on her. His murderous stare was painful and piercing, as if he was trying to tear her into pieces. It was accusing her of something.

Zhao Lifei followed what he was looking at previously and saw it was a neatly folded suit jacket that belonged to Wu Yuntai. Speaking of which, she had to return it to him soon…Why was he so angry over a jacket?

"It's none of your business." She rolled her eyes, turning her back to him and preparing to walk to her room but he roughly yanked her into him, crashing into his hard chest, feeling as if her brittle body was slammed into a wall.

"You had another man over?" His fingers curled over her upper arm, digging into her flesh, squeezing it.

"Let go of me!" She hissed, stomping on his foot, but he did not care.

"Who is it?" His voice was barely above a whisper, but it held more threats than a scream.

"No one stayed over, you possessive brute!" She wriggled, attempting to free herself.

She gasped when he suddenly turned her around, holding both of her upper arms now. Her heart quivered upon seeing the dangerous beast lurking within the shadows of his onyx eyes, the shadows surrounding him reaching out to grab her neck, suffocating her.

"Yang Feng, let me go." She frowned, disliking this side of him. He was allowed to have Su Meixiu at his side whenever he wanted! All she had was leave a suit jacket in the opening and here he was, being too rough on her.

"Who is it?"

She was growing annoyed at this foolish banter. "Why can't we talk this through normally?" She scowled.

"Do not make me repeat myself."

She scoffed at his words, resisting the urge to snipe out, 'Oh please, bite me!'

"Annoying prick, It's Wu Yuntai." She glared back at him with the same intensity, her daring behavior did not surprise him at all.

"So the pictures were true?"

"No, he did not kiss me." She sighed, already knowing which photoshop picture he was referring to. "It was cold that night and he gave me his jacket."

Yang Feng stared at her for the longest time, scrutinizing her face, detecting for the slightest hint of a lie and he did not find any. His grip loosened and guilt flashed over his eyes before it left as fast as it came.

"Why did you have to be so rough?" She frowned, attempting to create distance between the two of them, but his arms had traveled to her lower back, gently guiding her to him.

"I'm sorry." He muttered, resting his head on her shoulder blades, cursing himself for losing his calm so quickly. He never had the best temper and though he tried his hardest to hide it, it always surfaced at the wrong time. He felt guilt gnawing at his heart, prickling pain spreading through his chest.

"You didn't have to get so angry." She mumbled, refusing to hug him back. She let her arms dangled by her sides and knew that was bothering him more than anything.

"I know." He grumbled, breathing in her scent that swarmed his brain, a wave of serenity washing over him. He relaxed with her in his arms, even if she was not responding. He was fearful that someone would whisk her away again, the agonizing emotion gripping at his heart faster than he could think properly.

"Don't do it again, it's not healthy for either of us."

"I'll try." He quietly responded. He was bad at love and being gentle. Growing up in such a violent world, it was hard for him to control his behavior when angered. Frustration mixed with possessive tendencies and fear, it was a dangerous concoction that sent his rationality out of the window.

"Promise?"

"Of course." He lifted his head off of her shoulders and once again, felt a jab at his heart when he saw how upset she looked. Her brows were scrunched together and he could tell she was trying her best to restrain her unhappiness.

"Let's get your belongings now." His fingers hooked over hers, grasping it with the greatest care in the world. He looked like a bear attempting to behave like a teddy bear.

After she grabbed a few of her personal belongings, arranging for the piano to be moved, the two finally settled back at Cerulean Water Pavilion.

The next morning, Zhao Lifei practically pushed her way out of the door and kicked Yang Feng's chauffeur to the curb. She was glad her grandfather was able to get one of her cars to be transported into the house, or else she wouldn't have easily dodged the vehicles of Yang Feng's men who were adamant on trailing her location.
