Chapter 227: Making a Scene

Yu Sheng took a long time to calm the squirrel down again.

Meanwhile, he also felt that he finally understood the chaotic foundation of the "Fairy Tales" of this strange Exotic Realm.

The children's wild imagination, the "Dark Angel's" misunderstanding of human stories, and generations of "Fairy Tales" members transforming the "stage" after falling into the subset, combined with eighty-six years of accumulation and distortion, have collectively formed the now incredibly twisted "Fairy Tales" system.

Now, this colossal collection of mutated stories is on the verge of a complete collapse — and Anka Aela's "child" is about to be born from this conglomerate.

The sound of trees growing and the deep rumble from the earth echoed in the Black Forest. Yu Sheng gathered the organized remnants of the fairy tale pages and stuffed them into his clothes. He held the bullet that continuously emitted heat in one hand and his weapon in the other, slowly rising cautiously.

Erin sat on his shoulder, while the squirrel somehow ended up in Erin's arms.

Hu Li stood beside them, the fur on her ears slightly bristling, her nerves tight: "Savior... The atmosphere around us has changed..."

Yu Sheng did not speak, only looking up at the sky.

The remnants of the orphanage's structure had completely disappeared from sight. His gaze passed through the gaps in the trees to see a chaotic dusk, clearly not the sky of the Boundary Land.

The twilight's faint light filtered through the forest, casting dappled shadows among the tall trees. The distant, indistinct howling of wolves came, sounding alternately near and far, as if forming an invisible encirclement.

Soft rustling sounded from his body. Yu Sheng looked down to see a layer of illusory "fabric" gradually covering his body.

It was the "Hunter's" attire.

The hunter's clothes he had worn once before were now reappearing on him.

Yu Sheng was momentarily surprised but quickly understood what this meant —

The subset was closing. The "Fairy Tales" stage was completely replacing reality here, and within the orphanage's walls, the power of "reality" had completely receded. He was now fully within the Black Forest.

"Depth at least L-3…"

Recalling the knowledge he had seen in the database, Yu Sheng muttered softly.

Beside him, Hu Li looked at Yu Sheng's changes in surprise, her eyes widening: "Savior! Your... your clothes..."

Yu Sheng smiled and casually said, "I gained an 'identity' in the Black Forest, don't worry."

As he spoke, he raised his head, looking deeper into the forest.

In his "Hunter" perspective, the forest paths were becoming clear within his sight.

And in the distant depths of the forest, he once again saw that massive fissure — like a split scar, it stood on the ground, with tiny tendrils writhing like living creatures at its edges.

But before that fissure, countless wolves appeared around first.

Various sizes, grotesque and menacing, emanating immense killing intent and malice, the wolves emerged from the shadows, forming a hair-raising wolf pack in the flickering forest backdrop. Some were merely illusions of common wild wolves, some were twice the size of their kind, and some stood like humans, hunched, their eyes in the shadows emitting hungry green light.

"Holy shit—" Erin burst out upon seeing this, "So many?!"

"This is the Black Forest's 'immune' mechanism as an 'Exotic Realm,'" Yu Sheng's expression remained calm, slowly tightening his grip on his weapon, "Because we are about to do something outrageous— the forest is reacting."

The wolf pack began to approach, the nearest wolves slightly lowering their bodies, poised to pounce.

"Hu Li."

"Ah, here!"

"Go wild."

"Got it!"

The next moment, the ethereal blue foxfire turned into barrages sweeping outwards, fierce crossfire webs like the reaper's whip swung at the surrounding wolf pack — the evil wolves howled, launching ferocious attacks as the foxfire barrage swept over them.

The grandest fireworks ignited this flickering forest.

Foxfire surged, tearing and scorching the surrounding air. The evil wolves roared, rushing forward endlessly like tidal waves. Yu Sheng stepped forward towards the fissure standing at the center of the "stage," and with each step he took, the forest seemed to be shaken by a violent impact, with more and more grotesque and menacing wolves continuously spawning from the nearby air and shadows in the woods, attacking the "invaders" disrupting the stage's order.

Erin held onto Yu Sheng's hair with one hand, clutching the squirrel in her other arm, yelling loudly, "When do I attack? This looks overwhelming!"

Yu Sheng swung the tetanus wand in his hand, smashing a pouncing evil wolf in half: "Don't worry about this side— focus on the Sanctuary Wilderness!"

"Ah... okay!"

The small puppet hurriedly agreed. Yu Sheng's peripheral vision saw a giant tree nearby start to shake, then its branches began to droop, the surface of the trunk shriveled and deformed, growing sharp teeth and claws and fur like steel needles, transforming into an evil wolf, raising its upper body and letting out a roar towards them —

The next second, a silver-white fox tail, trailing blue propulsion flames, whistled into the mouth of the twisted giant wolf, transforming its roar and itself into a massive mushroom cloud.

Three consecutive sharp breaking sounds followed, as several Fox Radish Missiles tore through the sky of the Black Forest, bombing the gathering wolf pack that was appearing in the distance.

Yu Sheng watched the scene of exploding clouds rising in the distant sky and couldn't help but grin: "I always said roaring dramatically before attacking is just plain stupid! While they're growling, the missiles are already stuffed in their mouths..."

Before he finished speaking, another jet-black wolf darted through the crossfire net formed by the Fox Travel Cannon, ferociously lunging toward a dead angle at his side. Amid the squirrel's shriek, Yu Sheng shouted, "Shit," and quickly turned to dodge while raising the gleaming "Reason" in his hand, but before he could strike, another shadow suddenly dashed from the side, fiercely knocking down the black Evil Wolf. Then several shadows swarmed over, tearing the wolf apart in an instant.

Yu Sheng turned around to see a girl in a red dress emerging from the nearby shadows, followed by faint, indistinct wolves.

"You finally made it," Yu Sheng breathed a sigh of relief, "I was worried, with all this fighting, that something might have happened to you..."

"Why do you always make such a commotion!" Little Red Riding Hood sounded a bit exasperated, "Can't you use some stealth techniques or something? The Black Forest is for stealth! This isn't Snow White and her crazy old stepmother's clumsy stage!"

"It's not like I want to—it's just that I fail at the very first step!"

"Ahhh—whatever!" Little Red Riding Hood kicked a wolf that was rushing from the side, sending it flying. "Tell me what to do next—I just got here and I'm still dazed!"

Yu Sheng raised his hand to point to a distant rift, continuing to move his feet: "That way, we need to clear a path."

Little Red Riding Hood looked up in the direction Yu Sheng pointed, but saw nothing except the repetitive forest.

However, she didn't ask anything. She simply nodded and raised both hands high.

"Let me tell you—I almost never use this move!" the girl said viciously, "If Doctor Lin finds out, she'll scold me all day long!"

Shadows spread beneath her feet, surging and writhing as if tangible, gradually covering an area of several hundred meters, even encroaching into the air, darkening the surrounding atmosphere.

"But I don't care anymore—I'm about to turn eighteen. This either gets resolved today, or it's the last time!"

Within the shadows, in the air, countless indistinct wolves emerged, countless restless illusions condensed into reality.

The coat on Little Red Riding Hood turned into a cloak, as red as blood, fluttering in the wind.

She smiled, her eyes gleaming faintly.

She opened her mouth, and her voice seemed mingled with that of a wolf.

"Awooo—"

Then, Little Red Riding Hood's true wolf pack appeared.

Every wolf she had ever seen.

Every wolf she had ever fought.

Every wolf she had ever killed.

All appeared under her cloak, in the shadows beside her, and in the surrounding air with that howl.

Within a very short time, the wolves emerging from the shadows even outnumbered the wolf pack in the Black Forest.

"Time to hunt!"

The girl in the red cloak mounted the strongest wolf, raising her arm high. Her cheeks were already covered with fine fur, and her eyes turned into those of a wolf, her voice blending with the howls around.

"Charge!"

The wolf pack began to charge, clashing with the other wolf pack.

The Black Forest turned into a battlefield for the warring wolves.

They were everywhere.

Hu Li also rushed out. Following Yu Sheng's command to "go all out," she dashed straight into the densest part of the wolf pack and rolled on the ground.

In a magnificent display of light and shadows, a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, as large as two vans, slowly stood up. With a sweep of its tail, a firestorm of ghostly blue flames erupted.

Little Red Riding Hood, riding a wolf, stared blankly at the demon fox romping, rolling around, and tearing through the Evil Wolf pack. After a long moment, she turned back to Yu Sheng.

"She can transform like that?"

"Did I never tell you?" Yu Sheng grinned, "When she gets serious, she really makes a scene..."
