Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?!

Chapter 569: If Only Communication Was Always This Efficient

After glancing at his junior fellow's solemn expression, Dr. Gao Bushou hesitated and reached out to click on a video link.

The mobile screen switched to reveal a place resembling a university classroom.

Beside the person filming were several student-like individuals also holding up their phones. In front of them was a blackboard, and standing before it were a young man with an indifferent demeanor and a young teacher-like figure dressed properly but with a pale complexion.

Dr. Gao Bushou watched motionlessly. After a while, he swiped the screen open to the next video.

The scene changed to an auditorium filled with hundreds of people. In the front row sat men, some with graying temples, some bald. Dr. Gao Bushou even recognized a few familiar faces among them.

On the podium stood the same young man with an indifferent demeanor from the previous video, accompanied by an older-looking professor.

Dr. Gao Bushou inexplicably found this professor very familiar, as if he had seen him in some online course.

However, compared to his online course image, the professor on this podium resembled a terrified mouse.

Sound came out through the earpiece.

Dr. Gao Bushou remained motionless.

As the video played, his fingers trembled slightly, "Junior, could you pour me a cup of coffee?"

"...Okay, Senior Brother."

After a while, Dr. Bushou swiped the screen again.

This time, the scene shifted to a serious and oppressive courtroom, still featuring the young man with the indifferent demeanor from the previous two videos.

Dr. Gao Bushou's body and expression stiffened like a sculpture as he watched the video, saying nothing.

Junior Brother Fa Jigao looked at the screen, then at his senior brother, looked back at the screen, and then at his senior brother again.

"..."

Dr. Gao Bushou was silent for a while, and after some time, he forced a voice out from his throat with difficulty, "Is this Nan Zhubin... really that crazy?"

Junior Brother Fa Jigao swallowed, "Senior Brother, if this Nan Zhubin comes today, should we... respond as you just suggested?"

....

"Generally speaking, the doctors who liaise with us respond like that," Chonghui explained to Nan Zhubin as they walked down the corridor. "They think their tactics are clever, but... heh."

Chonghui pointed to his own eyes, emphasizing his research focus.

Indicating that their little tricks were starkly visible under his gaze.

"However, I usually enjoy cooperating with them. After all, both my teacher and I understand their ways. Sometimes the biggest trouble in research isn't ineffective data, additional interfering variables, or test subjects, but... even more troublesome external factors."

As psychologists, everyone can mentally "understand" most of the strange behaviors and ideas.

Therefore, as long as it doesn't cross any lines, achieving one's goals by playing along isn't a bad thing.

On the contrary, taking offense and retaliating only creates more trouble, which is pointless beyond venting one's emotions—and often, you can't even do that effectively.

Chonghui gave Nan Zhubin a look, "Watch how I deal with them first. Once you learn, the teacher might send you alone next time."

Nan Zhubin nodded.

"Here we are, just at that office in front."

Click—

Accompanied by the sound of wood and metal scraping, the interior of the room appeared before Nan Zhubin's eyes as Chonghui opened the door.

Along with this sound, the two people in the room who were engrossed in their phone screens suddenly looked up as if their necks were equipped with springs.

[Eyebrows drawing together, a brief wrinkle appearing on the forehead.]

[Pupils dilating, frequent blinking, gaze wandering.]

[Lips tightly pressed, jaw held a bit too taut...]

Nan Zhubin found their reactions strange. They didn't behave like doctors in a hospital but rather like students caught by the class teacher playing with their phones during class.

"Ah... ah! Dahui, you're here!" Nan Zhubin watched as the tall yet not-so-thin doctor glanced at him and then quickly looked away, greeting Chonghui beside him as if he had been electrocuted.

The tone was odd, like running on cotton candy, elusive.

Chonghui had entered a combat-ready mode the moment he opened the door, his expression gentle but his gaze sharp like he was in a boxing ring.

Although not as meticulous as Nan Zhubin, Chonghui was also trying his best to observe any changes in the opponents' facial expressions.

As a result, he was momentarily puzzled—why did these two have such strange expressions today?

Usually, the tall but not-so-thin guy should be greeting him with a forced smile, then trying to fob him off, shouldn't he?

The pace isn't quite right.

"You're not worried about being caught playing on your phones by the teacher, are you? You're adults now~" Chonghui joked, attempting to lighten the mood.

Dr. Gao Bushou reacted quickly, laughing dryly as he saw the situation, "Ah haha, no... Dahui, you're here to collect data, right? Our teacher already informed me."

That said, Dr. Gao Bushou seemingly casually put away his phone while very unnaturally glancing at Nan Zhubin, then quickly looked away.

He walked to the computer and expertly opened a document, "You're familiar with our medical records and data types; what do you approximately need this time?"
