Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 588 – Temple maybe done?

The night was mostly peaceful after Danji tired herself out by throwing the pillows.

At the end, she confiscated all the pillows, leaving Aiko without one.

No matter how much Aiko pouted, Danji would not give her a single one, saying that she teased her too much.

"Alas, I'm being bullied." Moon Aiko shook her head.

Danji slapped Aiko's thigh. "Who is bullying whom?!"

"You are bullying me!" Moon Aiko teased mischievously. "See this imprint on my thigh? That's how much you are bullying me!"

"You can get rid of it with a bit of energy!" Danji felt like Moon Aiko was becoming more energetic and mischievous, but she didn't know why.

"Hmpf." Moon Aiko erased that mark very easily. "So, revenge is done. Do you have anything in mind?" She narrowed her eyes, waiting for an answer from Danji.

"I'm not sure." Danji felt fine, mostly because Aiko teased her too much, so she didn't have enough time to process anything.

"I would still prefer if you burned that Soul." Danji nodded her head. While she did resent that guy, he was already a eunuch and his ass could no longer be called virgin nor ass.

That's right, she is at the point where she was grateful for that bastard, since Aiko would be unable to abandon her from here on out.

"You said that so many times, fine." Moon Aiko pouted and lit the flame inside the [Primordial Devouring Fire-Fox Glass Vessel].

[You have gained Soul Points.] [You have gained Soul Points.] [You have gained Soul Points.]

"???" For some reason, her Soul was growing by burning this bastard? How was that possible?!

Moon Aiko was confused for a moment, but then she realised the origin.

The [Primordial Devouring Fire-Fox Glass Vessel] was not harming the Soul in conventional ways.

It slowly burned the outer layers until it would extinguish the Soul.

This tool was perfect for the prevention of reincarnation, but this slow burn also allowed her to control the whole burning process.

A steady trickle of Soul Points from Souls was possible, and thus she would be able to later give it to her companions in exchange for more tails!

'Mei did say something about extinguishing Soul, and if we kill too many Cultivators, we will be on top of the hunting list, so this might be perfect...' Moon Aiko narrowed her eyes.

'What if there was a Cultivation Manual for Souls that would allow them quicker recovery?' Moon Aiko smirked. This was not a bad thing at all!

"I have the Treasures, so I can do something about the Demonic Foxes, and now I have another thing to do..." Moon Aiko blinked a few times when recounting what she had to do.

"I don't want to do anything..." Moon Aiko plopped back onto the bed, startling Danji.

Danji sacrificed one pillow for Aiko, since her current condition was abnormal.

Moon Aiko would never reject any work, but now it seemed she was quite tired.

"Alright, wake me up later." And with that, Moon Aiko just closed her eyes.

Danji blinked her eyes a few times, too. Sleeping Moon Aiko was too pretty, but there was an odd sensation of exhaustion on her.

'Maybe the whole journey and subsequent work tired her out?' Danji didn't think that Moon Aiko would be this exhausted, so she just patiently waited for her...

...

Moon Aiko blinked her eyes a few times after a few days. She still felt a bit tired, so she stopped any techniques that she had kept constantly on.

Danji almost spat out her snacks when she saw Aiko get even prettier.

"Are you alright?" Moon Aiko gently ruffled her hair. Her ears twitched slightly before lying flat.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Danji gulped nervously. This kind of complexion was much worse for her mind than even what Dark Aiko could conjure!

Moon Aiko's hair was more lustrous and softer than even the softest silk.

Danji was quickly addicted to caressing Aiko's hair and moving onto her cheek.

"Hello?" Moon Aiko blinked at Danji when she was not responding.

*smooch*

Danji tasted those pretty lips before nestling on Aiko's chest.

"..." Moon Aiko found this odd, but for some reason, her mind was lighter.

She slowly closed her eyes, seeing Danji not moving from her chest before sleeping once again.

Meanwhile, Danji had to fight her urges, since Aiko was way too gorgeous for her feeble tolerance. That's also why she nestled on Aiko's soft chest, since she could fill some of those urges up without inconveniencing Aiko.

...

Moon Aiko woke up refreshed. Her mind was light, and she was able to focus much better than ever before.

'Does that mean that those techniques drain me this much...?' Moon Aiko tilted her head.

Everything was turned off, from her hiding tails, maintaining fluff, concealing beauty and on and on.

It was quite... refreshing? She didn't feel burdened by anything, which made her think.

'If I increase my Soul and Mind. I should be able to remove most of this burden when I'm using them in tandem...' Moon Aiko nodded her head, waking Danji up.

*smooch*

Danji couldn't help but kiss Aiko again, before nuzzling her.

"What's wrong with you?" Moon Aiko blinked innocently before hugging Danji.

Their soft pillows were pressed against each other, but only now did Aiko realise how heavy those were.

'Maybe some reduction technique?' Moon Aiko felt like that was a good idea, but if Danji heard that, she would definitely scold Aiko.

"I'm fine." Danji acted like a needy Fox that just wanted to cuddle.

Moon Aiko was not against that, so she indulged Danji, gently caressing her head.

...

They dressed up and cleaned this temporary base before walking out.

"What is our next destination?" Danji asked gently. She felt pity that Aiko 'hid' herself again, but it was also a good thing, since she might accidentally drool if she saw Aiko like that again.

"Back into the Inscription Association. I want to scrap everything I can and get a better grasp over the Runes. Should be much faster now since I'm rested." Moon Aiko nodded her head. "I also want to create some kind of Treasure and make Chen Shi my servant so that I don't have to deal with repairs."

"That's... a lot." Danji blinked her eyes.

"A bit, yeah." Moon Aiko nodded her head, but since she had a lot of energy, she would use it well.

"Anything else?" Danji felt like they were forgetting something, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"I have no idea." Moon Aiko shrugged. It might not have been all that important if neither of them could remember.

...

They left the secret place back in the Inscription Association grounds.

"You are back." Chen Shi was not surprised.

"You don't seem too happy about seeing us." Moon Aiko narrowed her eyes.

"How could I be happy?" Chen Shi's lips twitched.

"Please! Please, don't make me meet those devils!" A Ghost cried behind Chen Shi, trying to hide from those lunatic Foxes.

He thought that they had already left his home, so he returned there, only to see how they were planting poles into a poor Soul!

That scarred him for life, making him run away and get protection from Chen Shi.

"Then just ask him about all the inheritance." Moon Aiko shrugged.

"Yes, yes, yes! I will give you anything! Just please protect me!" The Ghost cried rivers of 'tears'.

Chen Shi was flabbergasted that this haughty Ghost was reduced to this state.

"Seriously." Chen Shi rubbed his nose bridge.

"Just take this and this, and leave me alone. You bring the inheritance, or I will kick you into their residence!" Chen Shi handed Aiko the Jade Slips about Runes and other things. He also added a Storage Ring with more advanced Treasures for scrapping.

"Thank you~" Moon Aiko smiled.

Chen Shi rubbed his eyes a few times. Since it seemed like Aiko was even prettier than before.

"We will be going now." Danji bowed her head.

Chen Shi blankly nodded before returning to the study.

...

Moon Aiko arrived in front of the sealed courtyard. She would refine that poison and extract it from this place, so it was once again usable.

The security was even heavier than before, startling Aiko slightly, but when she saw those familiar faces, she just went inside with peace of mind.

"Will we work here?" Danji noticed that Aiko had changed her hairstyle again, and all the poison was being drawn into her body.

"Yeah. I want to accomplish a few things." Witch Aiko nodded her head.

"Aiko~" Yue came into the temporary workshop.

"You look good." Yue was slightly startled at how prettier Aiko became, but she recovered her wits quite quickly.

"I have convinced Chen Shi to swear an alliance with you. He is too stubborn for more, but it should still be useful." Yue hummed happily.

"You didn't blackmail him, right?" Witch Aiko blinked at her.

"Of course not! What am I, some kind of Fiend?!" Yue snorted unhappily.

Witch Aiko stared at her. "Weeeell-"

"Shush!" Yue pouted her cheeks. "I will teach you some manners later, but first we will swear on Heavenl-"

"Great Dao." Witch Aiko stopped Yue since she no longer trusted that kind of piece of shit.

"Hm..." Yue paused. "No, you are right. We can't really use Heavenly Dao as a witness, but there are too many Great Daos. Do you have one?"

Witch Aiko's tails twitched.

"It appears you do." Yue didn't comment on why Aiko's tails had mouths, since she was her saviour.

But of course, she would give her a small lecture later, just in case.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." Witch Aiko tilted her head. She was unaware that her tails spoke about something.

"No matter." Yue giggled, floating outside.

"I wonder if Yue is fine floating like that?" Danji had the impression that Ghosts couldn't come out during the day, but that was no longer the case?

"She is attached to something other than my Lamp, so maybe it provides her protection?" Witch Aiko didn't have enough brain power to find what that was, but that was not her issue.

Changing into Moon Aiko, she first pulled the Treasures out to sort them.

"It's unfortunate we don't have some kind of dissolving solution." Danji sighed.

"It can't be helped. I can only make toxins for now. The rest can also be made, but the control over it is not good enough, which limits what I can do." Moon Aiko shrugged. Her sis might be skilled with toxins, but other liquids were a lot harder to control and make...
