He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact

Chapter 339. Spitting image

Bianca took in a slight, unsteady breath.

She glanced at her friends.

They seemed somber after recalling the incident and their own weakness—stopping them from avenging their friends.

Their son, who was not even a galactic level lifeform yet, was the one they were planning on dumping the responsibility on.

As a matter of fact, they were the ones supposed to take care of him in their absence.

But here they were, betting everything on him.

Bianca sighed deeply.

Her gaze lingered softly on Kailen.

The young man, with a calm, yet emotional gaze—one that spoke volumes of restrained anguish and pain—stared back at her.

Suddenly, Bianca leaned towards Kailen and hugged him.

" It's been hard on you all this while. We are sorry we couldn't be there for you, and you had to shoulder this burden all by yourself. We may not be able to do much on our own, but we will support you and be there for you whenever you need us."

Kailen's gaze softened at Bianca's words, as a feeling of pure warmth encumbered him.

For someone with a skill that could tell whether or not one was lying or telling the truth, hearing something as sincere as this only did more to add weight to Bianca's words.

" Thank you ma'am."

" Call me Aunt Bianca."

The two gentlemen stood around the duo engaged in a hug, patting Kailen on the back comfortingly.

After a few moments, Bianca released Kailen from her embrace.

" You really are the spitting image of your father." Cyco, the tanned skinned blunt introvert, spoke to Kailen with a sincere gaze, one that simultaneously revealed melancholy, happiness and amusement.

Kailen chuckled, and leaned back into the plush arm chair.

He scratched his nose slightly and said, " You are not the first person to say this."

" Really? Who else?" Nuel asked inquisitively.

A warm smile softened his face. " The vampire drunk? And some neighbours from Earth when I was growing up."

At the mention of Jackson, the trio chuckled.

" Anyway I wonder how that irresponsible guy was like wiping this kid's baby ass."

Nuel added, the most shameless smile tugging at the edge of his lips.

Bianca's figure flashed, and landed at the back of his head before he could even move.

Pa!

The fellow was hurtled towards somewhere in the room, crushing into the wall.

" Ugggh, what the hell was that for?"

He groaned weakly as he staggered and stood up.

" At least have some manners before you tear the father's reputation apart in front of the kid, okay?" Bianca snorted, then gave him a threatening stare.

Nuel raised his arms sideways and surrendered in defeat. " Okay, you win, mum."

Cyco and Kailen's gaze met, until they both broke into hearty laughter.

" They are always like this."

Cyco commented, a warm smile tugging the edge of his lips.

Kailen couldn't help but comment. " Somehow their behaviour reminds me of some special friends."

Kailen couldn't help but recall an image of Arrie beating Charles up after he spouted some weird crap.

He couldn't wait to meet with them in the virtual universe.

" Really? We are really glad you found good friends, Kailen." Cyco added warmly.

Kailen nodded with a sincere smile. " I don't think I'd be right here without them honestly."

Cyco nodded warmly in response.

Bianca and Nuel, who seemed to have finished their dramatic display, joined them.

As Bianca and Nuel joined him, the oldest of the trio, Nuel, took the initiative.

He performed an apologetic 90 degrees bow to Kailen, his voice extremely shaky, predominantly tinged with pain and guilt.

" We are very sorry, nephew, for being useless! We could only watch helplessly without having the ability to pursue revenge for the tragedy of your parents. And now, we shamelessly have no choice but to pin our hopes for revenge on you, their son, someone we are supposed to protect. Please forgive us for our uselessness. As your uncles and auntie, we have failed you."

The trio remained in the bowing position after Nuel's words.

Kailen couldn't help but feel bad.

Quickly, he rushed towards them and gestured in a respectful manner.

" Uncles, Aunt. Please, there's nothing you could have done in your situation.

I perfectly understand you, and I don't blame you for anything.

In fact, I'm technically the one supposed to take revenge for what happened to them.

I should actually be thanking you that you were considerate enough to think that as his son I deserved to know.

Also, you didn't just tell me because you thought I had to know, right? You are confident that I can get revenge for what happened to my parents and grandparents, and that I won't get myself killed trying to do so, right?"

The three friends of Saul resumed a standing demeanor after Kailen's words.

Their faces were full of warmth as they stared at him.

" A charmer like your father, a smooth talker like your mother." Bianca couldn't help but chuckle on hearing Kailen's words.

" Thanks kid, hearing that from you means a lot to us." Nuel added warmly.

" Yeah, you have no idea how much it means to us hearing that from you, kid." Cyco layered.

" It's no big deal uncles and aunt." Kailen gestured politely.

The trio nodded, after which Bianca said,

" I'm sure the gentlemen would agree that we'd really like to know how the vampire drunk was doing when you met him—after all, we haven't seen or heard from him since your parents disappeared—we only saw him on social media handles when he declared you his disciple, and during your rank 1 alchemy test at the alchemy association.

Most importantly, we are curious about how those two irresponsible adults managed to raise a fine young man like you."

Kailen couldn't help but chuckle lightly at her later words.

Also, from the trio's expressions at the mention of Jackson, it seemed they really missed him.

Nuel couldn't help but retort inwardly at Bianca's words. " A tiny slip and you hit me, but aren't you doing the same thing? In fact you called them irresponsible!"

Of course, he kept his thoughts to himself, afraid of what Bianca might do to him next if he said anything.

Oblivious to his thoughts, Bianca proceeded.

" But there's something we want to discuss with you."

On noticing that Kailen was paying attention, Nuel was the one to speak this time.

" We want to go to the front lines and hone ourselves. We have become rusty after centuries of inaction.

While we are at it, we will support Jackson to amass merits and a strong squad that can rally behind us. When the time comes to go against the crown prince, at least we can be useful as your seniors. What do you think, nephew?"

The trio were waiting for Kailen's opinion.
