Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 275: Miserable Little Fairy

The fourth day of survival.

Houses are exquisite and cozy, situated chaotically on the plain.

These houses merge together to form a warm small town, though it would be better if there wasn't a skeleton hanging on a wooden pole at the town's entrance.

After more than a day, Kane finally arrived at this small town.

The current body requires more sleep and rest time, so travel speed was not fast.

The gray Giant Wolf stood on the cliff, gazing towards the small town not far away.

The people in this small town are not like those in the previous village, who locked themselves inside their houses.

Instead, they live their lives normally within the town.

A woman arguing with a merchant over a herb basket, laborers pulling carts loaded with goods, children in pairs and threes running freely on the streets.

If Kane hadn't arrived here late last night to thoroughly inspect the living conditions of the town's residents, he might have been fooled by them.

The appearance is bright and clean, but the bottom of their kitchen pots, the stench of leftovers, and the dismembered bodies in the slaughterhouse.

Everywhere indicates the inherent madness within the hearts of these townspeople.

However, even though he knows these people are mad, some of their behaviors still made Kane feel puzzled.

Many people are weaving bird-catching nets with wooden strips and ropes, and some are already carrying finished nets, searching everywhere for something.

Seeing this behavior, Kane felt an uneasy pang in his heart; it looks like they are targeting someone.

Kane stood on the cliff, waiting for March to rise.

The ethereal and elegant moon dispelled the last hint of day madness.

Kane watched as the town residents returned to their homes, visible through some windows; many townspeople still hadn't gone to sleep, vigilantly holding those nets in their hands.

Indeed.

A flickering colorful light appears not far outside the town, carefully approaching.

That is Lilu.

Kane was waiting here precisely for Lilu, when he first arrived, his wolf nose detected a faint sweet scent in the air.

Wondering if Lilu was around this area.

Seeing the villagers' crafted tools, Kane was even more convinced of his suspicion.

Lilu was fluttering her wings, desperately trying to hide the flashing brilliance on her body.

The suppression of strength forced her back to the time of her infancy, and the massive decline in Magic Power made it impossible to cover some of her conspicuous traits.

Adding her slightly weak Constitution, and the subtle strength of the Little Fairy, if not for her two pairs of wings helping her fly, she might have already failed and exited the Dungeon.

She is almost about to faint with hunger now.

As a Little Fairy, Lilu does not eat meat, only vegetarian.

And there are no fruit-like things in the surrounding forest, and most of her Skills require a huge amount of Magic Power to use.

When she first arrived, she intended to steal some food from this village.

Yet the food here nearly made her vomit.

Unable to get anything, in fact being discovered and chased all the way by these people.

Now she is utterly exhausted and starving.

Tonight is almost her last attempt.

She flew into a small house but quickly flew out.

The house's owner was already wildly chasing behind her with a net, and people poured out of all the surrounding houses, originally asleep, now rushing toward Lilu.

The nearly strengthless Lilu could only flutter her wings with all her might, flying away.

But as she was chased, she fluctuated in the air, almost powerless to fall.

Just as she was about to fall, a Giant Wolf suddenly leaped from the rooftop beside, and caught her with its jaws.

Finished, Lilu thought she was eaten by the wolf. This was her last thought.

Kane, carrying Lilu, with a group of humans trailing behind, ran into the nearby forest.

Lilu then realized this Giant Wolf seemed not intending to eat her.

Inside a tree hollow, the Giant Wolf placed Lilu down.

Then the Giant Wolf changed, transforming back into human form.

"Kane!"

Seeing the person's face, joy filled Lilu's voice; she didn't know where the strength came, rushing up to hug Kane's neck.

"Waaaa, uuuu uuuu."

Finally, she cried out loudly, as if pouring all her recent hardship and grievances into tears at once.

Seeing Lilu's tired and dirty cloth, chased appearance, clearly indicated how miserable she's been.

Kane could only gently pat her back, comforting her.

The person nearly fainting from hunger, yet somehow crying so vigorously.

"Alright, alright, don't cry, aren't you hungry? Have something to eat."

"Really?"

Hearing there is food, Lilu sniffed, wiped the tears from her face and asked.

Kane opened his cloth bag from behind and handed it to her.

Watching Lilu's ravenous eating, it's clear she was truly starved these days.

At this moment, as the cold wind blew through, the weather seemed to become even more freezing.

Kane pushed the branches he had prepared outside to block the tree hole.

Seeing Lilu shivering from the cold, he transformed into the Giant Wolf form, surrounding her with his thick fur.

Lilu lay on the soft fur of the Giant Wolf and asked: "Kane, how can you turn into a wolf? Didn't see this before."

"Always could, just that this Skill wasn't useful before, so never used it."

After saying this, Kane suddenly thought of something and asked.

"What Skill did you choose? Why so miserable."

"Magic Power isn't enough, so Lilu chose Flashing, but Magic Power is so low, she can only flash once."

Lilu's Flashing is almost like a natural instinct, the very first magic she was born with.

Outside, she often replaced actions with Flashing.

As she spoke, Lilu lay on Kane's fur and fell into a deep sleep.

The so-called being suppressed to a strong ordinary person's level, only applies to one's Race.

Considering her Constitution, and now Lilu's strength, the difference is evidently massive.

Lilu's Constitution is equivalent to a common Little Fairy's level, a significant gap compared to a strong human.

From this, it can be inferred that Kreya and Longbei are also equivalent to strong ordinary members of their Race.

But their inherent racial advantages should also allow them to overwhelm these Dungeon's mad humans to some extent.
