Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 282: Good Things and Bad Things

The 21st day of survival.

Last night Kane found Meizike and Longbei.

This way, their team was finally fully reunited 20 days after arriving at this dungeon.

The time was too long, the nights growing colder, and the ever-looming blizzard hindered their best chances for action.

Ten days later, pursuers followed, leaving them exhausted and constantly on the run and hiding, relying only on luck to reunite with teammates.

Fortunately, no one died, losing the qualification for the trial; instead, everyone survived.

As for their wounds, they would naturally disappear after 30 days.

Why Kane was so sure of this, besides Aiklonen's assurance before entering the trial, was because he hadn't summoned the {Book of Adventure} again since arriving at this dungeon.

{Book of Adventure} doesn't respond to a summon only in two situations.

One is being completely blocked, but considering this hidden dungeon, Kane finds it unlikely, requiring Mist to personally intervene.

Otherwise, it would be too much of a fall from grace.

The other possibility is Kane and others did not experience the trial with their real bodies, but rather entered a kind of illusory space or dream.

The second is what Kane finds most probable.

At this moment, cries echoed from the crack between cliffs.

"Wuuu..." Lilulu flapped her wings, flying around Meizike's severed arm, gazing at the missing limb, tears fell uncontrollably.

Lilulu had already regarded this team as her other family, considering Kane, Kreya, Longbei, and Meizike as her family.

Watching Lilulu cry, Meizike touched her head, comforting her with, "It's okay."

"But, but you've lost your hand, how can it be okay? I'll definitely ask Sister Chikuli to make your hand grow back when we leave."

Kreya came over, holding Lilulu, wiped her tear-streaked face with a damp cloth.

"This space is unlikely to be real; when we survive 30 days, these injuries should recover."

Somehow Kreya felt the same conclusion as Kane.

Then she started a fire nearby, using the ingredients that popped out to prepare a simple yet sumptuous lunch.

Everyone gathered around the fire, sharing experiences of the past 20 days.

Longbei, holding a branch, stirred the fire in front of him, sighing, "How long has it been since I got this messed up? The last time might have been when joining a wild team with others."

Meanwhile, Kreya, Lilulu, and Meizike were still experiencing such difficult times for the first time.

After all, they've either explored a dungeon for the first time or formed a team with Kane on their second exploration.

Except for the hardships in the early Crystal Dungeon, it had been smooth sailing, not threatening their lives.

This time, it trained their stress resistance and vigilance.

"Though we've reunited, we still can't let our guard down, instead be more vigilant. These last few days, with us together, if Aiklonen doesn't give us a big challenge, I wouldn't believe it."

Upon hearing Kane's words, everyone nodded, agreeing.

They already understood how the former warrior could be so ruthless.

When they initially entered the dungeon, relying on their skills, they lived quite comfortably, even as nights grew colder, they didn't suffer much.

Until the pursuers appeared.

Knowing the pursuers and shaking them off somewhat leveled things out.

As pursuers increased and couldn't be shaken off, trouble really began.

Deep inside, they knew the War God's interference.

Aiklonen, observing Kane and them from outside, nodded at their comments with satisfaction, a trace of pride on his expression.

The sight returned to the crack in the cliff.

Suddenly, Longbei thought of something and asked Kane across, "Kane, that giant wolf transformation earlier, what's that about? Is it a new skill of yours? Never seen you use it before.

Honestly, the wolf looks cool; after transforming, do you feel awkward on four legs?"

Before Longbei could continue, Kane hastily interrupted, "Stop, stop, one question at a time."

Seemingly acting alone for 20 days or tagging along with reserved Meizike, Longbei had quite a lot bottled up, now wishing to share with Kane.

"The giant wolf transformation skill I've had before, apparently, rarely necessitated use outside."

Then he changed the subject to question Longbei to deflect further questioning.

"Speaking of which, what skill did you and Meizike choose?"

Upon Kane's query, Longbei answered first, "I chose a taunting skill; you know dwarves initially before becoming explorers almost have no magic power.

Currently, I am without magic power, but taunting adds to my insults, not requiring magic power."

Apparently, dwarves were known for their strong natural magic resistance before Mist shaped them, thus lacking magic power.

When Mist appeared, bringing dungeons, dwarves acquired magic power while retaining innate resistance.

This was unexpected for Kane, thinking Longbei might choose Iron Wall Shield Defense.

Surprisingly, ordinary dwarves lacked even a bit of magical power.

After Longbei answered, Kane turned to Meizike.

Without speaking, Meizike demonstrated.

Red particles emerged from Meizike's hand, splitting, drifting toward Kane and Kreya.

The particles, controllable, stacking enhancements glow, are Meizike's skills as an Alchemist.

Meizike chose the red particles with excellent healing effect.

This met Kane's expectations and was what their team urgently needed.

However, these particles only accelerated wound healing, couldn't replenish large missing flesh.

After enjoying a hearty meal, everyone began resting well within the enclosure.

Having rested all night, Lilulu flew out of the crevice, aiding everyone in keeping watch.
