Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 333 Enormous Crisis

The scorching sun hung high in the sky.

The midday snowstorm ceased, and the cold winds stopped sweeping everywhere.

This brief moment at noon was the time of the day with the clearest visibility; the rest of the time, the environment was shrouded in a snowstorm.

The vehicle carrying Kane and the others slowly approached from afar.

After nearly a whole day of traveling, Yoyo drove the vehicle to its designated destination.

The ground here was largely covered in snow, as were the surrounding cliffs, but according to the map's explanation, this should be a Gobi Desert.

The small dungeon space contained almost every type of terrain.

Feeling the vehicle come to a stop, Kane opened his half-closed eyes and looked out the window.

Beside them was a recessed area on the wall where constructing a tall and thin wooden cabin would be no problem at all.

After the vehicle stopped, not only Kane but also Kreya and the others perked up, as the long ride had left them somewhat spiritless.

"Alright, let's get down,"

Seeing everyone ready, Kane waved his hand, and the entire vehicle vanished, leaving Kane and the others steadily landed on the snow.

Kane looked around at the surroundings; this was a Gobi Desert buried in snow, with a very noticeable recessed area in the mountain wall before them where Yoyo had chosen for them to build a wooden cabin for rest, and it was within a safe range.

He turned to his teammates behind him and said, "You guys take a stroll around; I'll build the cabin first and then call you."

After speaking, Kane stepped towards the recessed area.

Each construction of the cabin had subtle differences, such as in this recessed area, where cliff walls blocked the wind and snow on three sides, Kane only needed to build it in alignment with the recess, and then construct a long sloped roof above to prevent snow from piling up on the cabin.

While constructing the cabin, Kane heard a noise from the sky, looked up, and saw another squad of Explorers being destroyed. As the range shrunk smaller, from previously having barely one battle occurrence in a day, now every day a squad or two would be eliminated, though not every day, usually the second day after a collapse was when most cases occurred.

Based on the kill marks seen in the sky over these days, a rough estimate indicated that nearly half of the Explorers had been wiped out, with half of that contribution attributed to Kane and his team.

After the cabin was constructed, Kane communicated via the Ruby Lapel Pin on his collar to inform Kreya and the others.

Once everyone entered the wooden cabin, Longbei lay sprawled across the table with a bored expression.

"Alas, we'll have to spend another two days in this room; why is no one willing to come and attack us?"

Unlike the bored Longbei, Kane and the other three sat by the table, taking out books from Space Equipment and began reading.

Kane and Meizike both had professional knowledge that required continuous reading and learning, while Kreya had a hobby in this area. As for Lylulu, she fought with puzzles on the other side.

This leisurely time was supposed to be a great opportunity to hone skills, however, being in the dungeon, no one could guarantee not encountering danger at any time.

Thus, it was necessary to stay in a good state to respond to threats, and training could only proceed after leaving the dungeon.

On the map's farthest side from Kane and the others.

Invited, Amis and his team emerged from their hiding spot, heading towards the area marked by yesterday's Explorer squad on the map given to them, a place now impossible to reject regardless of danger.

"Chase, scout the area for any danger," Amis instructed the Elf Archer in the squad.

Chase nodded, then a pair of wings resembling dragonfly wings appeared on his back, fluttered twice, and ascended into the sky, seemingly possessing similar remote vision as Eagle Eye.

After scouting the surroundings, he flew down shortly.

Seeing Chase's return, Amis inquired, "How is it? Is there any danger in the surroundings?"

Chase shook his head, saying, "Several Explorer squads are already at the location marked on the map; not only us, but other Explorer Squads around are observing, presumably cautious too."

"Since that's the case, let's head over; be alert and don't relax, hold onto that tool, and teleport away immediately upon sensing danger."

After that, Amis led his teammates towards the gathering location not far ahead, while Philis hid in her pocket, cautiously peeking around.

When they arrived at the area, they saw two or three squads gathered around, maintaining a certain distance from each other to prevent impulsive attacks.

Amis and his team stood at the very edge, not entering further.

As the weakest team in terms of strength here, they recognized clearly that they might not have time to react if someone attacked them, so staying on the periphery seemed better.

As they arrived, other teams who had been watching gradually moved closer.

Finally, when the sun stood directly overhead.

A crimson Teleportation Gate appeared ahead.

The glasses-wearing Explorer led his team out of the Teleportation Gate.
