Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 369: River Passage

Near noon.

Kane and his team passed through the forest barrier and headed south towards the dungeon, while the Circular Restaurant where they rested was located in the southeastern corner of the map.

He shielded his eyes with his hand and glanced at the sunlight.

"YoYo, project the dungeon map and plan the shortest route to our target location."

"Got it, master," YoYo responded to Kainder's words, flying in front of him with a spinning propeller. A blue light emanated from her eyes, weaving a three-dimensional map in the air.

Once the three-dimensional map was projected, a red line meandered from their current position, extending to the southwest corner of the dungeon.

Yes, that was the target location for their mission this time.

It was a forest area.

For Kane and his team, resting at the Circular Restaurant, it was precisely on the other side of the map.

Kane carefully examined the map. The fastest route wasn't on land but via a waterway for a quick arrival.

There was a river in the dungeon, and its main and branch streams almost covered the entire map. Coincidently, their target was grazed by the main stream, allowing them to quickly reach it via the river.

After studying the map for a while, Kane said, "Let's head a bit north first, and then reach the riverbank."

With that, he and his teammates started moving towards the riverbank where they would take the water route to quickly reach their destination.

The area near the safety belt was also a forest, but compared to the tall trees of the safety belt, these were much shorter, possibly only half as tall, so they didn't provide much shade. The trees were also slimmer and more densely packed.

Under the scorching sun, Kane and his team didn't walk for long before they saw a wide river in the distance.

Regarding the other parts of the river, Kane wasn't sure, but in front of them, the width of this part seemed to be around eight or nine meters.

The sunlight reflected on the river's surface, giving off a dazzling glare.

"The river is quite clear," Longbei remarked as he looked at the riverbank, clearly seeing the riverbed.

Some fish in the water swam gently.

Logically speaking, such a developed waterway should attract many explorers to reach their destinations via water routes, but no one like Kane could create transportation tools anytime and anywhere to facilitate their travel.

Considering the various uniqueness of the dungeon, Kane had designed and manufactured numerous vehicles, with the most used being cars. However, he also didn't overlook making boats.

Except for flying vehicles that consumed too much Magic Power, Kane didn't miss out on any waterborne or land vehicles and even crafted different models for various terrains.

Looking at the river segment before him, after closely comparing the map, the narrowest part of the main river channel shouldn't exceed 5 meters.

Then, Kane stretched out his hands, and Magic Power poured from them, starting to construct a slender yacht on the river surface in front of him.

Soon, Kane had crafted a cone-topped, arrow-shaped yacht.

The yacht looked extremely plain, with no extravagant features.

Due to the width limitation of the river channel, Kane opted for his smallest design available. Although the smallest model's comfort wasn't at its best, during an exploration, enduring some hardship wasn't a problem.

Afterwards, Kane and his team sat down in the seats on the yacht one by one, limited by space; they couldn't sit side by side and had to sit one behind the other, like a queue.

The steering position was also left to YoYo, with a base similar to that of a vehicle.

Once everyone was seated, Kane reminded, "Hold on tight; yachts don't travel as smoothly as vehicles."

Upon saying that, YoYo started the yacht, and it shot out like an arrow with a swoosh.

The back left a beautiful spray of water.

Unlike the uneven road surfaces of the dungeon that prevented fast driving, the yacht sped straight through the water with a speed that the ground couldn't provide.

In the slightly hot air, the river's breeze, enhanced by the yacht's speed, pounded against everyone's faces.

"Woohoo!" Longbei exclaimed, raising his hands to welcome the oncoming wind after getting used to the yacht's bumps, experiencing the thrill of speed.

The speed experience felt novel to everyone.

Although the water route, combined with the yacht's speed, significantly reduced their travel time to the destination, it still took more than half a day.

So, after the initial excitement and novelty wore off, they sat in their little spots on the yacht, with nothing to do.

Kreya sat in her spot, feeling the wind pressure blowing against her, squinting her eyes while occasionally glancing at the quickly passing scenery around her.

Seeing the lake, she gently extended her palm, slightly reaching down from the yacht's edge, catching droplets in her hand from the splashes created by the yacht's speed.

As a chef, Kreya immediately sensed the difference in the lake water. She held the few drops in her hand, closely inspecting them, then sniffed before finally sticking out her tongue to taste it.
