What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 724: Time For Psionic Training?

Renata was using the excuse that she needed more Liquid material to get me to do her more than usual during our flight to our next destination.

And that in turn made the other girls more needy so they were practically all over me during the flight.

I made sure to satisfy all of them thoroughly of course, as I should.

"I'm honestly surprised that you managed to do all of us like that," Mara commented, moving over to her workstation inside her medical room.

Her hair was still a little dishevelled from our little session earlier but she had the glow of satisfaction around her.

I turned to raise an eyebrow at her, "Is it that surprising? I thought your gene mod gave me limitless sexual stamina?"

"Enhanced stamina, not limitless stamina. You can still get tired. Hmm… Hold on a moment…"

She tapped on her workstation to bring up a screen which showed some graphs and numbers which I don't understand before it switched to a familiar screen that showed a diagram of a human body and blue orbs bouncing around inside the diagram.

I'm guessing she was checking my Psionic levels again.

"Hmm… It actually looks stable now… Honestly, I don't think it's safe but… I suppose if you learn how to use it, it might also help your body adapt as well."

I leaned forward excitedly, "Oh! Does that mean I can learn how to move things with my mind now?!"

"I suppose we can. But I'll have to monitor your readings in case something happens since you are clearly a special case."

Yessss!!! Finally!!

"Alright! So how do we start?! How do I move something with my mind?!"

She smiled at me, "I would point out you've already done so with that weapon of yours. But I suppose we can just start from the very basics first. Here."

She reached out her hand and a stick shaped object at the other side of the room flew into her hand which she then placed on top of her table.

"Try to move this with your mind."

I raised an eyebrow at her, "Oooook? Like… No instructions? Just… Try to do this thing that you've never done before?"

"Yes," She told me simply without elaborating.

So I guess this was basically throwing me into the water to teach me how to swim or something?

Alright then! I foresee an elaborate training arc where I have to stare at this stick for hours on end to figure out how to move it so let's get started!

First, I'm just going to try 'willing' the stick to move where I imagine that I'm exerting my influence over it to move it.

I imagined the stick rising up into the air and, to be honest, I was expecting nothing to happen.

But unexpectedly, the stick rose up into the air as I had imagined it to.

I stared at it.

Mara stared at it.

I stared at Mara, Mara stared at me.

I turned back to the stick and tried to raise it higher.

The stick responded to my will and raised up higher into the air.

Err… Is it really supposed to be this easy?

I concentrated on the stick and tried to make it fly around and once again, it reacted to my will.

It even started spinning in place when I wanted it to.

I turned back to Mara, "Umm… Is this normal? For me to just be able to do all this so easily?"

"No," She answered instantly.

"So… What's happening?"

"I suppose… At this point I can only say as expected of Captain."

Renata giggled, "Ehehe~ Daddy is cool!"

Mara tapped her chin thoughtfully, "Did you have any problem using the detachment function of your weapon before this?"

"You mean my halberd? Not really? I just imagined that it would fly around based on how I swung it and the weapon did as I thought it would…"

"In that case… I guess I really should say that it's expected of Captain… You might even be considered a prodigy amongst prodigies for Psionics."

"Err… I'm guessing that it's not supposed to be this easy to move stuff on the first try?"

She shook her head, "Not only that… But you're not even struggling and you're already able to move things so easily… Hmm… Wait… Now that I think about it. I have been comparing you to young Psionics who are still children learning to use their powers for the first time. There hasn't been a newly awakened Psionic in their adulthood for a very long time so this might be normal for an adult who has just awakened their Psionic potential…"

Mara then brought up her personal terminal and started opening several screens which appeared to be her looking up historical records of adults who were newly awakened as Psionics in the past.

While she did that, I tried to play around with the stick a little more, trying to see what the limit was for me.

I spun the stick around the room, made it fly back and forth like I was trying to shoot it at someone, then tried to spin it as fast as possible.

No matter what I tried to do, the stick responded to my thoughts easily and did as I wanted it to.

Damn… Was it really that easy to do this? I wonder if I tried to do any of this before, would it have worked?

Like back when I first met Amber, if I had tried to imagine stuff flying around with my mind, would they have also reacted like this? Or were my Psionic powers only awakened to this point recently?

Well… I guess I should just be glad that I found out about this while I have people who can guide me on this instead of being absolutely lost on it.

I then tried to move more stuff that was laid around the room while trying to keep them all up in the air.

I managed to lift three things up but when I tried to lift the fourth object, my concentration wavered and the first object wobbled before falling onto the ground.

I frowned at it and tried to concentrate on lifting all four objects in the air.

The stick that was on the ground rolled for a moment before it shot up into the air to join the three objects that were already there.

Hmmm… There wasn't exactly a strain on me to lift them but it was more of a concentration thing which made the stick drop.

If I tried to look for another object, I would basically lose sight of the first few objects which would cause them to fall onto the ground.

Mara chuckled, "I suppose that there's still a limit for you, Captain. I would have just given up on calling myself a Psionic if you could just lift as many things as you wanted."

I frowned at the sight of the floating objects, "Is there a trick to it?"

"It's just a matter of getting used to it so it's just practise. You need to be able to split your concentration up to be able to control multiple objects. At this point, you can basically be considered an expert Psionic, Captain. Most Psionics would struggle to even control three objects at the same time."

I tried to lift another object but it felt impossible to keep the four objects up in the air at the same time so I gave up and lowered them onto the table.

Mara raised her hand and the four objects I was controlling flew back to their original positions.

"So… What did you find?" I asked.

"It has reinforced my view that you are certainly abnormal, Captain. No one else has been able to control your Psionic abilities as easily as you have on their first try. Though I suppose this won't include Psionics that were kept hidden from public view."

I'm guessing she's referring to people like Amber who the government is experimenting on.

"So what should I do now?"

Mara turned back to the screen that showed the blue orbs bouncing around the human diagram.

It still looks like they were bouncing within the confines of the human figure.

She then nodded, "I would like to do some tests on your limits as a Psionic first. We'll see how much you can lift and such. Let's call Amber to the cargo bay as well. Once we know your limits, then we can decide how to proceed. I have to say though…In my own personal opinion, I actually believe that you have the potential to be a stronger Psionic than either Amber or myself."

Oh? That's pretty cool~ Maybe I can shoot fire out of my hands too? That's definitely awesome!

Alright! What are we waiting for then?! Let's go already! I also want to see just what I can do!! Do you know how much I had been holding back ever since I knew I could do this?!
