So… Just a recap… I have Sofiya from Nebula Dynamics seated across from me right now and I have Sophia from Ruger Heavy Dynamics calling me on my Codex asking to arrange a meeting with me right now…

I took a look at the purple haired woman seated across from me who was not amused to hear what she just heard.

But still, she kept her mouth shut and offered no comment, opting to narrow her eyes at the screen in front of me instead as though she was trying to will it to disappear.

A crazy idea just came to me so I smiled at the screen where the pink haired Sophia was waiting for my answer.

"Of course. I'll send you the location of my suite and you can make your way up here~"

"Oh! That will be very helpful, Miss Tera! I will head on up immediately!"

I sent her the room number before ending the call, turning back to face Sofiya.

She tilted her head slightly, "Miss Tera… May I ask what is the meaning of this?"

I leaned back in my seat, "Well… I haven't really decided on what to do with this thing that I recovered yet you see…"

I then fished out the black box and held it up so that she was able to see it.

"I just thought that it would be better to see who could give me a better deal for it, you know?" I continued.

She leaned forward immediately, "Right now I could offer you two hundred million Credits for that box. You don't need to give it to me, just let me scan it somewhere private while you buy some time for me to do it. If you want, I can offer eight hundred million Credits for you to sell the entire thing to me instead. What do you say?"

Oh wow, that's actually pretty good of an offer.

I'm not too sure how effective the scan is for her to suggest that, but I guess it was probably the best that she could hope for now that the original owners of the box was coming to retrieve it.

I thought about it for a moment.

If I let her scan this thing, we would effectively be doubling our current amount of money… Who knew committing corporate espionage could be this lucrative?

I turned to my girls, "What do you girls think?"

Ries leaned forward slightly with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "You guys are the direct competitors with Ruger Heavy Dynamics aren't you? We have something that your competitor has that they are prepared to showcase in the exhibition and this is the best offer that you can give?"

"Anything more and I would need to seek the approval of my superiors which would take time. This is what I can offer immediately."

Ries grinned, "Hmm~ Hmm~ I think I have a good idea Boss~"

I raised an eyebrow at her, "What is it?"

Right at that moment, a bell rang indicating there was someone at the door, no doubt the visitor being Sophia.

Yumiko was already at the door as though she was expecting it and opened the door immediately.

Despite not being able to see them from where I was seated, I could hear their conversation at the door.

"Hello there~ Is this where I can meet Miss Tera from Teran Mercenary Company?"

"Yes. Sophia, correct?"

"That's right. May I come in?"

I noticed that Sofiya across from me visibly tensed for some reason but I ignored it in favour of turning around to keep an eye on the other woman entering the room.

Soon enough, Yumiko came back with a pink haired woman and I didn't notice this during the call but she also had fins at where her ears should be, completely mirroring Sofiya and looking almost the same aside from her hair colour.

When she saw the purple haired woman seated across from me, she also froze up, both of them just staring at each other for a good long minute.

Sofiya was the first to break the silence as she brushed a strand of her purple hair out from her face, "Hello, Sophia. I'm afraid you are too late. You might as well just go back and report that you have failed."

Eh? I guess these two have some kind of history together? Don't tell me… They're sisters? That can't be the case, can it?

The pink haired Sophia immediately turned to me, "Miss Tera! Whatever she's offering to buy the data chip from you, I will offer five million Credits more!!"

I didn't get to respond as Sofiya sneered at her, "You can't afford it. Are you prepared to cough up a billion Credits?"

"Ha! Do you take me for an idiot? You would need your superior's approval to even authorise that big of a transaction! There's no way you have the time to do that right now! You can only offer eight hundred million Credits at the very most!"

Both of them went back to staring at each other for a few seconds before both women whipped out their personal terminals at the same time and started calling someone.

"Boss!! I have a lead on a data chip belonging to Ruger Dynamics!! But I need approval to allocate more funds to retrieve it!"

"Boss!! I'm trying to retrieve our data chip that was stolen but Nebula Dynamics is trying to buy it off the Mercs! I need approval for more funds to out bid them!!"

Seriously… Are you two sisters or not?

The rest of us were just watching the two of them rattle off to their superiors trying to get them to approve their request.

Once again, both of them moved at the same time and ended their call to turn to me with an excited look on their face.

"Miss Tera!! One billion Credits to take that data chip off your hands!!"

"Miss Tera!! One billion and five million Credits for you to return the data chip to us!!"

Umm… Is this even alright? Like holy crap… That's one billion Credits you know?

With that amount of money, I could purchase a pretty big D Class ship and even outfit it with all the bells and whistles I could want on it…

Whatever this is must be really important for them to offer that much money for it…

I looked at the black cube in my hands, "Don't suppose I could first ask what is inside it first?"

Sophia hesitated, taking a moment to glare at Sofiya who was also looking at her in anticipation.

Clearly she did not want to tell me while the purple haired Sofiya was there to listen to her as well but I guess she decided that it would be better to obey me instead.

"It's our presentation on creating autonomous Exo-Knights that would not require an actual pilot to control them."

Unexpectedly, Sofiya jumped on her feet, her eyes wide in shock.

"You mean to use AI to control them?! Have your people gone mad?!! No one will accept this!!"

Sophia rolled her eyes at her, "Then in that case, why don't you leave? Clearly what we have here is useless to you, isn't it?"

The purple haired woman growled, "You don't mean to try and start another AI Rebellion, are you?"

"Hardly. There are just more applications to this than what is currently being explored. We are simply exploring it so if you aren't interested, do leave this place and don't waste our time."

While those two were talking, I was thinking about what this data chip could bring.

If they were really going to start making autonomous Exo-Knights… This could also extend to ships, tanks and other types of vehicles as well…

I'm pretty sure that this is a really dangerous piece of tech considering the fact that most people still despise anything that has to do with artificial intelligence.

But if it was the military… They might be interested in trying this out if it meant that they could have tireless and fearless soldiers that will obey every command.

Or… Maybe even just the more open minded Mercenaries might be interested in that possibility of having a fleet of autonomous Exo-Knights to bolster their party.

If it wasn't for the fact that I had Renata to fulfil that role… I might even be interested in this myself.

Looking at the two of them, it was clear that they weren't backing down so I guess it was up to me to choose.

The problem was that whoever I chose might result in incurring the wrath of the other party and we might find ourselves being targeted by them in the future.

So what should I--

Amber clapped her hands together, getting everyone's attention.

"I have an easy way to solve this~ If you are open to hearing my suggestion~"

Amber… Please don't tell me…

She gestured at me, "The one who is able to sexually satisfy our leader the most will get the offer!!"
