I Can Assimilate Everything

Chapter 513: Experiments in The Void! III

Rose floated in the Void with the kind of confidence that came from knowing exactly how dangerous she'd become. The blue waters and green flames comprising her elevated form swirled with lazy grace, creating patterns that would have mesmerized anyone foolish enough to stare too long.

She'd felt the moment Achilles completed the displacement…had sensed the spatial transition through their connection, had known immediately when the three isolated Nar'Thyss suddenly found themselves relocated to this remote pocket of emptiness where she'd been waiting.

Now, suspended in darkness before the massive butterfly entity that radiated authority meant to inspire terror...

Rose smiled.

"Are you the dumb bitch who targeted my man?"

The question carried across the Void with perfect clarity despite the impossibility of sound traveling in vacuum. But entities at their level didn't need conventional sounds, they spoke through will and authority, through meaning projected directly into consciousness.

Elara's many eyes squinted, wings beating with agitation as she processed this unexpected development. Her voice carried dangerous curiosity when she responded.

"Who are you?" The question hung in the darkness, followed immediately by sharper inquiry. "And where is the other one?"

Rose ignored both questions with the kind of dismissive ease that suggested she considered them fundamentally irrelevant. Her emerald eyes blazed with light that made the surrounding Void seem somehow less dark by comparison.

"I'm feeling pent up right now," she said conversationally, as if discussing weather rather than impending violence. "And having stepped onto a new stage of power, I also want to gauge where I stand."

Her form shifted slightly.

"I also want answers... so I can make things easier for my man." Her voice remained casual, almost friendly, which somehow made the underlying threat more pronounced.

"You see, I just want to relax in a radiant sea with him, screw him daily, and have a few kids."

The crude directness of the statement would have been jarring in any other context. From an entity radiating enough power to make reality uncertain, it became somehow more threatening…as if Rose was explicitly declaring that her goals were simple, domestic, achievable... and anyone interfering would be removed with extreme prejudice.

"But dumb bitches like you continue to pop up constantly, so..."

Rose's smile widened, taking on edges that would have made predators reconsider their life choices.

"Why don't you tell me a little about the Nar'Thyss? Where your power stands relative to others. How many like you there are, who your strongest are... you know, the basic stuff."

...!

The silence that followed was absolute.

Elara stared at the blue-green entity before her, consciousness processing the sheer audacity of what had just been said. This... this thing... this entity that barely registered as significant compared to her Nar'Thyss authority... was making demands?

Was threatening her?

Was speaking as if the entire cosmic order of the Nar'Thyss—an organization that had ruled portions of existence since before most current Star Seas had cooled…was merely an inconvenience to be interrogated and then dismissed?

"Haha!"

Laughter erupted from Elara's form.

It was incredulity mixed with rage, the sound of someone who couldn't quite believe what they were hearing. Her wings beat with increasing intensity, stellar patterns blazing with narrative authority that finally, finally managed to manifest despite the Void's constraints.

"YOU DARE!?"

She attacked.

Purple pages materialized from nothing…not paper but solidified narrative, story made manifest and weaponized into spears meant to pierce the fundamental existence of her target. Each page carried authority that could rewrite causality, that could shackle the very essence of an enemy's being and force them into stories where they had already lost, where their defeat was predetermined by narrative weight too heavy to resist.

The spears lanced forward with impossible speed, dozens of them converging on Rose's position from multiple vectors simultaneously. This wasn't a probing strike…it was overwhelming force meant to instantly subjugate anything foolish enough to challenge a Nar'Thyss like her!

Rose's emerald eyes shone.

Not with fear or surprise but with something that resembled scientific curiosity mixed with predatory satisfaction. Because as the spears of purple narrative converged on her position, as the weaponized story meant to rewrite her existence closed to striking distance...

She could see them.

Not just visually, not just through conventional perception that tracked position and velocity. She could see their code…the fundamental genetic structure that comprised their existence, the underlying architecture that defined what they were and what they could do.

The Primordial Genome Empress hadn't just been a title. It had been recognition of capability that most entities couldn't comprehend. Rose had been able to break down the genomes of living things, had possessed understanding of biological code with her lineage.

But now, having stepped onto the Level Zero Scale of Existence, having broken free of chains that had constrained her perception...

She wasn't just seeing the genetic code of living things.

She was seeing the genetic code of…everything!

HUUM!

The spears of narrative weren't alive in any conventional sense, but they existed, and anything that existed had code underlying its being. Instructions defining its nature, parameters governing its behavior, fundamental architecture that determined what it was and what it could do.

Rose saw all of it.

She saw how the purple pages were constructed from narrative authority, saw the specific configuration of existential commands that made them capable of piercing and shackling enemy consciousness. She saw the intent encoded into their very being…the story they were meant to tell, the ending they were designed to force.

And because she could see the code...

She could edit it.

Rose's authority manifested…barely a fraction of her total reserves, a minuscule expenditure that wouldn't have registered as significant compared to the ocean of power she now commanded. But that tiny amount was applied with surgical precision, sent out to touch the incoming spears and interact with their fundamental code.

The genetic instructions defining the spears' existence suddenly became negotiable.

Rose's authority didn't fight against them or try to overpower them. It simply rearranged their code…changed a few key parameters, altered several fundamental instructions, rewrote small portions of their underlying architecture.

The first spear meant to pierce her consciousness suddenly lost its targeting lock. Its code no longer recognized her as an enemy, no longer contained instructions to attack. It veered off course, dissipating into meaningless narrative fragments that couldn't maintain coherence without proper targeting.

The second spear had its intent inverted. The portion of its code defining "enemy" was swapped with "origin," and the weaponized narrative suddenly recognized Elara as its proper target. It reversed course mid-flight, lancing back toward the massive butterfly entity that had created it.

The third, fourth, and fifth spears had their structural integrity compromised. Rose altered the code governing their cohesion, changed the parameters that let them maintain existence as discrete objects. They simply came apart…not destroyed through application of force but unmade through editing of their fundamental instructions.

It was glorious!

Rose moved through the storm of attacks with fluid grace, her consciousness processing incoming threats and dispatching them with expenditures so small they barely registered. For every spear Elara manifested, Rose could alter its code faster than the attack could reach her…dissipating some, redirecting others, occasionally leaving a few intact just to see what modifications she could make to their behavior.

It was less combat and more experimentation.

Elara's attacks became increasingly frantic as confusion warred with mounting horror. Nothing was working. Spears that should have pierced through Lesser Scale entities were being casually dismissed. Narrative authority that should have rewritten reality was being edited mid-flight, its meaning altered before it could take effect.

"WHAT…WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" The question carried genuine bewilderment alongside rage.

Rose didn't answer. She was too focused on the fascinating discovery that even the Existential Authority of Fables, the fundamental power source the Nar'Thyss wielded had code underlying its manifestation.

Elara's attacks were constructed from specific configurations of authority, organized according to principles that Rose could now perceive with perfect clarity. And if she could see those principles, see the genetic architecture of how Fables were weaponized...

She could manipulate them at the source.

Rose pushed.

Not physically but through the same authority she'd been using to alter attack codes. She sent her perception forward, touching the space around Elara not to strike but to read, to see the code of the massive butterfly entity's existence, to understand the fundamental instructions defining what she was.

And then Rose began editing.

Elara's own existence…started breaking down.

Not through application of overwhelming force or superior power but through systematic alteration of her fundamental code. Rose changed small parameters…adjusted the instructions governing how Elara's form maintained coherence, modified the code defining the boundary between her consciousness and the surrounding Void.

It was the existential equivalent of introducing typos into crucial DNA sequences…small changes that cascaded into system-wide failures as the entity's own existence struggled to reconcile conflicting instructions about what it should be.

"WAIT!" Elara's voice carried shock that transcended rage. "HOLD ON, WHAT IS THIS?!"

The massive butterfly form shuddered as portions of her being simply stopped working.

Not destroyed but temporarily disabled, as if fundamental systems were encountering errors and shutting down to prevent further damage.

"HOLD ON!"

The command carried desperation that would have been unthinkable from a Level Zero Scale Nar'Thyss just minutes earlier. But Rose wasn't stopping, wasn't slowing, wasn't showing even momentary hesitation about systematically dismantling an entity that should have been far beyond her capability to threaten.

Rose floated closer, her blue-green form moving with casual grace through the Void until she hovered directly above Elara's massive form. The waters and flames comprising her elevated physiology swirled with lazy satisfaction…the look of someone who had just confirmed exactly how devastating their new capabilities were.

Her emerald eyes blazed with cold authority as she stared down at the Nar'Thyss who had dared to target Achilles.

"You dumb bitch," Rose said conversationally, her voice carrying the same casual tone she'd used when first asking her questions. "I already told you what I want, so..."

Her smile could have frozen stars.

"Let's not play any games."
