Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1232: Sovereign of Ice

Ylthariel remained calm, though a slight smile tugged on her lips as she listened to what Kent was saying. From the onset, it was plain as day that what Kent was saying was bullshit.

There is no truth in it.

However, Ylthariel said nothing to show she was aware of his lies. She let him blabber for five minutes without stopping.

Even just saying 'ice is the core of water' shows he is utterly ignorant of what Ice really is. His cluelessness, in a way, is also admirable.

After all, Kent not only made it sound like he knew, but he also showed the seriousness and the expression that said he believed what he was saying.

He even pumped in some knowledge of things that, when translated differently, would make it seem as if he knew.

So she allowed him to finish, her expression never shifting beyond that faint, amused calm. Only when Kent finally went silent—clearly satisfied with his own explanation—did she exhale softly, a misty breath that crystallised the air between them.

It was as if she were telling Kent something. However, the Chaos Dragon, who knew what he had done, remained satisfied with his explanation, making sure he stood by his words.

"Kent," she said gently, almost soothingly, "do you think I was born yesterday?"

"I do not follow," Kent said with a calm yet lost expression.

Ylthariel sighed and let out a chuckle... "You could have just said you have no idea what Ice really is. I mean, why go roundabout about something you have no idea about... even making it seem like you are an expert in that field."

Ylthariel even laughed, feeling amused by Kent's sneaky behaviour.

Kent remained calm for a few seconds before he let a smile appear on his face. He stretched his body for a few more seconds before speaking.

"I am from a modern world, my lady. There, we used to say something like 'Fake it till you make it.'"

"But you didn't have to fake it before a whole me, someone who was the source of all ice-related abilities, physiques, constitutions, and everything that had to do with ice."

"I suppose you could say when I met the Slaughter King, he ridiculed me with how little I know, so I just wanted to leave an impression."

Ylthariel chuckled and said, "You indeed left an impression. Just not the right impression."

"But I did leave one. In my heart, that is all that matters," Kent let out a grin, then a serious expression, showing he is ready to learn.

Ylthariel nodded to his words. "Forget about Bhaalzhar. He was just like that... always chasing after strength and power when he should be learning the basics and perfecting everything." She smiled, remembering the past when she and the True Primordial ruled the universe, creating a path that future generations walk and build upon.

"Maybe that was why there are fewer blood-related techniques and treasures out there."

Kent said nothing, but he felt better hearing Ylthariel's words. The Slaughter King had made him appear as if he was not doing much when, in fact, he had already surpassed many expectations for someone at his level.

Ylthariel lifted her hand, and the sea behind her froze in an instant—not violently, not abruptly, but gracefully, as though time itself had chosen to slow and solidify.

The waves paused mid-crest, the ripples turned to crystaline glass, and the horizon transformed into a smooth, shimmering plain of blue-white crystal. Her luminous antennae brightened, casting a soft, celestial glow across the still world.

"I don't know if you are aware of this. But water is formless and colourless. In the vast universe out there, most of the time, people do interpret water as formless.

However, water does indeed have a form, and that form is only manifested when it turns to ice. That ice can even be turned into colours of your choice.

Aside from that, special abilities and qualities can be imbued into it, transforming it into the form you wanted."

Ylthariel opened her palm, and a green ball of ice appeared... Kent instantly sensed a special healing essence coming from it. The soothing essence escaping from it instantly took hold of his body.

"This is ice; however, I have tapped into the healing laws of existence and crafted a special enchantment that now gives this ice a healing quality."

The green ice ball turned red instantly, leaving Kent pale. The amount of killing intent coming from it was just too much.

"Now, as you can sense, this ice is now imbued with killing intent, making it something to be feared. It can weave many enchantments into it simply because it has a form that can be manipulated at will"

She put away the red ice and let the water appear.

Kent sensed nothing from the water, even when it changed from green to red and even blue. Unlike what happened when she transformed the ice ball, nothing happened when he did the same to the formless water.

"It has long been established that anything with form can be transformed into anything you want. In fact, the core of everything starts with transformation.

Water has been transformed into ice, and as such, I was able to transmute it into both healing and killing ice."

Kent took in her words with complete focus.

Kent leaned forward slightly, his eyes fixed on the frozen horizon as Ylthariel lowered her hand. He could not clearly see what was happening; however, he knew that every movement Ylthariel made held some meaning.

It was this feeling he couldn't describe, even though he could sense it.

As Ylthariel's hand moved, the ice sea softened, melting back into gentle waves as though reality itself bowed to her will.

"Now," she said, turning her gaze fully on him, "tell me—what do you think Ice truly represents?"

Kent opened his mouth but stopped himself. He let out a quiet smile. This time, he didn't try to fake it.

It was time to learn why he was here. After all, he knew Ylthariel brought him to this special realm to show him something.

He inhaled deeply, letting the cold breeze enter his lungs before responding.

So he gave a reply that captured what he had to do.

"I… don't know," he admitted, his voice quiet but steady. "But I want to."

A slow smile formed on Ylthariel's lips.

"It seems we can start then." She waved her hand, and the space spun for half a second. When it stopped, Kent was face-to-face with a monument.

"I cannot tell you what Ice is because everyone has their own understanding of Ice. You will have to find yours, and only then can you leave this place."

She pointed at the monument... "Inscribed on this monument are 699 True Names of Ice. The universe knew only 14 of them. You would have to figure out one of its True Names, and that name will grant you the power to wield Ice."

Kent nodded, but just before he began, a question popped into his mind, bringing a smile to his face...

"Has anyone from the 14 Chronicles of Ice ever succeeded in invoking a True Name of Ice?"

Ylthariel smiled..."All 14 of them, in fact. After all, they were my disciples"
