An Arch-Deity of the Freedom Path that went by the name of Aranko had a somber expression on his face as he stood within his Eternal Kingdom. The formation and force fields of the kingdom were working at full power as he analyzed the message that had just arrived.
According to Crowley, the Prophetess had perished a few weeks ago, and three ArchDeities had already vanished in that time. Things were growing so serious that the Neo-Angel had no other choice but to relocate the ArchDeities within the stronghold in the Void Beyond the Realm, and place expensive teleportation formations across the landmass so they could mobilize their troops in case of an invasion.
It was a complete upheaval of how they were doing things, and it was all because of one person.
The Scarlet King.
Aranko really did not want to leave. His Eternal Kingdom was on the frontlines, and it would be one of the first to be struck if they retreated. Although losing his Eternal Kingdom would not harm his cultivation base, it would make growing stronger much harder, and it would take a long time before he could restore it.
Not to mention that without his Eternal Kingdom, if his body and soul were destroyed, there would be no place for his True Name to resurrect him, and he would fade into nothingness.
"No matter how strong the Scarlet King is. As long as I remain within my kingdom, I will be fine."
The Late ArchDeity had just convinced himself that everything would be all right when his eyes widened in dread as his instincts began to scream in danger. He looked to the sky only to see a bright scarlet star.
"Conquest Divine — Cataclysm Star."
Those words echoed across the sky as the scarlet star landed on the Divine Kingdom's force field, generating massive cracks around it before blasting a hole through it. With monstrous momentum, it crashed right into the castle at the center of the kingdom, shattering it into pieces and drowning it in scarlet flames.
Aranko emerged from the destruction the next second, his eyes full of horror as the strength of that divine attack could have killed him had it landed directly on him.
Finally, he understood the kind of danger he faced and how serious his situation was. He immediately transformed into a stream of lightning, trying to get away as fast as he could.
Using the fear and dread in his heart as a bridge, Cain teleported right behind him and landed a single palm strike on his back. The Late ArchDeity shook nonstop before every pathway was severed, and his soul was shaken, making it impossible for him to even self-destruct.
The next second, the ArchDeity was tossed without mercy into the Scarlet Throne, his soul and body becoming part of it. Cain showed a wide smile as he added a new prey, and it widened as the flow of vitality surged through him.
"This should be enough to fix the backlash from using Ragnarök."
Not letting the thrill overcome him, Cain's eyes sharpened as he turned toward the Eternal Kingdom and saw how it was beginning to tremble and shake due to losing its anchor. His Chaos Wings glowed before countless streams fell from them, piercing into the Divine Kingdom and devouring its Origin Power.
They also kept it stable long enough for the people in the kingdom to escape. Cain devoured as much energy from the Eternal Kingdom as he could, as fast as he could, before his eyes glowed with bright starlight as a drop of blood in the back of his palm shook. Not even a second later, he retracted his Chaos Wings and flashed into the distance.
A few minutes later, Crowley manifested, arriving from the opposite direction that Cain went. The Neo-Angel clenched his teeth with rage and fury, as no matter how well he hid his presence, Cain always seemed able to detect him before he even got close, and then escape.
Cain just smiled, thinking of the Neo-Angel's expression, and as the bright starlight faded from his gaze, he nodded with recognition.
"The divination powers of the Prophetess are truly useful."
Other than healing and hunting, Cain used his time to learn and use the power of the Prophetess. The woman's technique required the implantation of different soul-auras, each of them prepared through bloody ritual and then carved into her body, which was why she looked like an amalgamation of body parts.
Luckily for Cain, with the Power of Chaos and the Scarlet Throne, he was able to achieve that soul-aura amalgamation with even greater efficiency than stitching body parts onto him.
Of course, there was only so much one could train in a couple of weeks, especially since he only gained the Prophetess's insight and not the full range of her abilities. However, it was enough to forge a field that hindered divination around him, and he also learned how to track people through mediums—Crowley's case being a drop of blood left on the edge of his sword, which he transported to the back of his hand.
After getting deep within the Life Path's domain and locating a secure place, a pensive light appeared in Cain's eyes.
"I would like to keep hunting, but the six-month deadline is coming soon."
After analyzing a few things, Cain finally nodded to himself.
It is time to move on.
With the decision made, Cain did not waste any more time. He sent a message to Meylin and the Enlightened One to meet him, and used the Power of Chaos to search for the soft spot in the Realm Barrier.
The duo had been waiting for this moment, so it did not take long for them to reach Cain. After finding the soft spot in the barrier, Cain's Chaos Wings covered the duo and flashed into the Realm Barrier.
They were moving to the Fifth Realm—
and much more importantly, they were meeting the Demon King, one of the two heads of this universal war.
