The cursed eye Wesker had received directly from the Demon King himself.
In those final, fleeting moments, the ultimate ability of the King's Eye activated.
The world froze.
Time ceased to flow.
The void turned gray.
Within that motionless world, the King's Eye was the only thing still alive, pulsing faintly ..
until dark power and filthy blood slowly gathered around it.
Wesker's form reassembled.
Annoyance was clearly etched across his face.
Everything around him was frozen ..
Gehrman, Abraham, all living beings across the world.
"Ah… damn it.
That bastard forced me to use the King's Eye in the end.
Gehrman, servant of Nameless…
you truly are the most troublesome opponent I've ever faced."
By invoking the King's Eye, Wesker rejected Gehrman's final strike, negating the phenomenon entirely.
That was the Eye's power—
to deny any outcome that threatened its bearer's life.
"It was a good fight…
but you lost, Saint.
You failed to kill me—and you're still within my domain."
"Abraham Starlight won't be able to block me again,
and I still possess enough aura to unleash my strongest attacks once more."
Wesker extended his hand toward Gehrman.
"How unfortunate… but this is the end.
You cannot defeat a power bestowed by King Agaroth himself."
Wesker was about to finish it ..
when, at the very last moment ..
his eyes caught something impossible.
Something that should not exist.
Here, within the gray world frozen by the King's Eye ..
Wesker was supposed to be the only one capable of movement.
The only being retaining color.
And yet .. For the first time ..
Something else stirred.
Not a person.
But a single limb.
Gehrman's right hand.
The hand he had never used throughout the battle.
The hand surrounded by those clock-like rings, their hands spinning endlessly.
Even within the frozen gray world ..
the blue clock rings continued turning, unaffected by everything else.
Then ..
Before Wesker's disbelieving eyes—
The clock hands stopped for the first time.
Announcing the arrival of the end.
And when they stopped ..
Wesker heard a sound that filled him with terror.
Laughter.
Gehrman's laughter.
He had broken the taboo.
No ..
He had shattered the law-breaking ability itself.
Gehrman raised his head within the frozen gray world and looked straight at Wesker.
"Finally…
you decided to use that cursed eye."
Gehrman smiled.
A terrifying smile ..
of a predator that had finally cornered its prey.
Wesker tried to do something .. but found himself frozen, unable to move, without even realizing it.
Countless rings identical to those surrounding that hand appeared around his body… and around the King's Eye itself.
This time, he was the one who had been frozen.
Not his opponent.
"Impossible!!! The King's Eye is absolute!! It should be only me and Demon King Agaroth who can move within this world—how can you do this?!" Wesker roared in rage as Gehrman slowly approached.
"You rely far too much on your precious eye, Demon of the Fourth Rank," Gehrman said calmly.
"Let me tell you something interesting… something my master, Nameless, told me countless years ago .. so long ago I can no longer even count them."
Gehrman's smile widened as fragments of the past resurfaced in his mind.
"Once, I asked my master Nameless an important question.
I asked him: What is the true weakness of the overwhelmingly powerful Top Ten Demons?
I wanted to know what those eyes hidden beneath his mask truly saw.
Do you know what he answered me that day?"
Gehrman laughed loudly, extending his right hand before Wesker's chest.
"The powers they received from Agaroth."
"That was his answer .. the answer that left me standing there, stunned, unable to understand his words at the time. Hah… how ironic."
This was one of the rare moments where Gehrman laughed so openly, revealing a side of himself almost no one had ever seen.
"It took me many, many years… but I finally understood what he meant," Gehrman continued, his voice rising.
"And all I can do now is marvel—because my master Nameless saw the world from a completely different perspective than you or I ever could!"
Wesker's face twisted further as his King's Eye was completely suppressed, leaving him utterly helpless.
"What the hell are you talking about, you bastard?!" Wesker snarled.
Gehrman continued without hesitation.
"The world-boundary-breaking abilities Agaroth granted you are incredibly powerful .. so powerful they are among the greatest weapons in existence.
But you rely on them far too much. To the point that the moment those abilities fail to function as you expect…"
He paused, his smile fading, replaced by a sharp, merciless expression.
"…you lose instantly."
"Even you, Wesker, never once imagined that the day would come when someone would block your eye.
Perhaps you expected it from Demon King … or from Nameless himself.
But never from someone like me."
Gehrman's eyes narrowed.
"Unfortunately for you… I possess a similar ability."
"This is the Hand of the Ruler."
"It is similar to the King's Eye.
Your eye can reject phenomena that threaten your life.
As for my ability .. once activated, I can reject one chosen phenomenon during battle."
"But in exchange, I cannot fight with my right hand for the entire duration of the battle."
"It is an inferior version of your King's Eye."
Gehrman narrowed his eyes further, a hint of bitter amusement crossing his face.
"Before I became my master Nameless's subordinate… before I died…
I fought Agaroth himself when the demons attempted to invade Irithyll .. my homeland."
"In that battle, I used the Hand of the Ruler against Agaroth."
"Do you know what he did in response?"
Once again, Gehrman burst into loud laughter .. very different from his usual calm composure.
"He reversed everything back at me using his King's Eye!!
Can you believe that?"
"In the end…" Gehrman said, still laughing,
"the one who uses their ability first loses."
"That was the decisive factor in our battle."
"The one who inspired the method to defeat you…
The one who made me finally understand what my master Nameless meant all those years ago…"
"…was none other than your own king—Agaroth himself!"
"What a twisted fate, isn't it?"
Between Gehrman's laughter…
and Wesker's shock…
Everything became clear.
The King's Eye.
The Hand of the Ruler.
Two perfectly mirrored abilities.
And whoever activates theirs first—can have it reflected back by the other.
In the past, the King's Eye wielded by Agaroth triumphed over Gehrman's Hand of the Ruler.
And this time ..
Victory belonged to Gehrman.
Against Wesker, the second bearer of the King's Eye.
Gehrman laughed…
and laughed…
and laughed…
Then—finally—he stopped.
"Yes… fate truly loves to toy with us," Gehrman said quietly, extending his hand.
And in that instant ..
BOOOOOOM!!!
A violent sound of destruction tore through space as time resumed its flow.
Black, corrupted blood exploded everywhere as Gehrman shattered Wesker's chest with an impossibly fast strike.
"Even to the very end…" Gehrman murmured,
"…it toys with us."
As Wesker's body fell from the sky ..
Gehrman remained standing, supported by his crumbling vessel…
declaring his victory.
