Cheolseong gestured with his hand, signaling his subordinates to attack.
The Buddhist disciples and the Iron Monks simultaneously moved. They charged towards Alaric's group with cold gazes.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Seeing this, Alaric shouted. "Stick together and watch each other's back!"
They were at a disadvantage numerically so they needed to act well as a group.
"Leave the old baldy to me," Nivis muttered before she sprang into action. She had never revealed much of her power since they arrived in Veronica. She concealed her power and just quietly played her role as a Transcendent Knight under the Astanian Prince.
However, now that their situation was dire, she knew that it was not the time to hide her powers.
Using the power of water, she summoned hundreds of water spears towards the abbot. She fired an endless barrage of water spears, forcing Cheolseong to defend himself.
She is a water-type Catastrophe-grade beast!
Cheolseong didn't think much of her, but the power she unleashed made his face darken.
She wasn't mentioned in the reports. It was a miscalculation. If he failed to overpower in a short amount of time, his subordinates might perish at the hands of the Astanian Prince.
He had full faith in his disciples and the Iron Monks, but in front of a Venerable, even top experts like them would likely be defeated.
I must take her down and help my disciples!
Thinking about this, the abbot finally became serious. He released an overwhelming amount of mana to summon his domain, the Wind Domain.
Inside his domain, he could freely control the power of wind. The air becomes a sharp blade with just a wave of his hand. This was the formidable trait of his domain.
"I don't have time to play around with you, beast!" The abbot roared as he pushed his hands forward, controlling the wind to form thousands of invisible, sharp blades.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Nivis's eyes remained calm in the face of this power. She snorted and stomped her foot, countering his domain with her own.
"You call this a domain?!"
She conjured a mighty, unparalleled power with her vast mana pool. Water emerged from the air, circling her like a protective barrier.
Cheolseong's wind blades couldn't penetrate the water barrier, leaving her completely unharmed.
How is that possible?!
The abbot couldn't believe his eyes. The wind domain was one of the most destructive powers in the world, but he couldn't breach the blue-haired woman's defenses.
Nivis snapped her fingers, expanding the water barrier to almost double its size.
"At my peak, I can kill the likes of you with just a snap of my fingers." She mumbled with a sneer.
She didn't take him seriously. The old monk might be powerful, but to her, he was no different than a slightly stronger bug.
Suddenly, two water harpoons emerged from her water barrier and shot towards the old monk.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Cheolseong quickly reacted. He conjured a big wind blade which destroyed the two water harpoons.
Bang!
However, Nivis's attacks didn't end there. She conjured ten more water harpoons.
Cheolseong wasn't a pushover. He destroyed all the water harpoons with his wind blades. There was just one problem.
More water harpoons came out from Nivis's water barrier and they seemed to be endless.
Amitabha…
The old monk's face turned grave as the number of water harpoons continued to increase.
Before long, Nivis was already controlling thousands of water harpoons. She didn't even show signs of exhaustion. Her eyes remained calm and it looked like her mana pool was still vast like the ocean.
On the other hand, he had expended a huge portion of his mana to maintain his wind domain.
Amitabha! Is her mana pool unlimited!?
His lips were pale and his eyes were shaking.
He turned his head to inspect the situation on his disciples' side. To his horror, he saw Alaric effortlessly cutting the Iron Monks into pieces with just a few swings of his swords. Even the warriors around him showed stronger abilities which overwhelmed the Buddhist disciples.
How can his group be this strong?!
At this moment, he recalled Benedict's warning.
The former priest told him to be wary of Alaric, but Cheolseong didn't take it too seriously.
I should have listened to Benedict's warnings! Amitabha!
He finally realized why an expert like Benedict had failed in his last mission. It wasn't that he was weak.
Cheolseong believed that it was because of Alaric.
The Astanian Prince was more powerful than he had thought. The guy's sword techniques were out of this world. He could kill Transcendent Knights with ease. Not to mention that he was surrounded by skilled warriors.
The biggest factor was the blue-haired woman in front of him. She was unmatched.
Bang!
While he was trying to come up with a way out of this mess, Nivis managed to land a shot on his abdomen.
A water spear pierced through his flesh, causing him great pain and suffering.
I was careless!
With a face full of sweat, the abbot distanced himself from Nivis.
"You can't get away from me, old man!" Her cold voice drifted into his ears, making him shiver from head to foot.
He increased his speed, but Nivis followed him relentlessly, refusing to let him go.
The chase continued for another ten minutes before Nivis landed another solid hit, this time on his right shoulder.
Bang!
A water harpoon struck him hard, tearing a huge chunk of his flesh.
He was bleeding heavily. He used his mana to stop the bleeding, but it was useless. His mana pool had been drained.
His control over the wind domain was cut off, exposing him to Nivis's attacks.
In the next moment, his body was torn apart by her water spears.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
He couldn't even scream as his body was torn into pieces.
The abbot, a powerful Venerable, fell under Nivis's hands. His corpse was no longer recognizable.
Meanwhile, Alaric and the others had also cleaned up the abbot's disciples and the Iron Monks.
It was a total victory.
Alaric looked at Nivis with newfound respect. The girl was bossy and arrogant, but she was trustworthy during crucial moments.
