Chapter 440: Soul Stealer (Part 2)

"Hmm, I wouldn't have been injured, but I ran into those Federation scum," Bostaf said casually.

"Lord Bostaf, you're truly incredible. The Prince will be very pleased to hear of your accomplishments."

Wonderful!

This time, let's see how Rein manages to survive!

Buchanan, snapping back to reality, couldn't help but feel more confident!

Half an hour later.

Inside the castle banquet hall.

The enormous rectangular dining table was laden with a feast of ferocious beast dishes. Bostaf sat shirtless on a specially made large chair, eating and drinking with gusto, casually asking:

"Lord Buchanan, why did the Prince call me back so urgently? What's the matter?"

"It's like this, the Prince hopes you can help obtain the blood essence of a person named Rein. He's very powerful and possesses a special Dragon Bloodline. After his transformation, his strength is said to reach Epic-level."

"Most importantly, the Prince believes that the blood essence of this individual will greatly advance the final experiment!"

"Oh?" Bostaf wiped the red Bordeaux Liquid from the corner of his mouth and laughed, though his appearance seemed a bit sinister.

Bostaf cared more about the Second Prince Everton's experiments than anyone, as he was both a survivor and a beneficiary of these experiments.

He knew that if he wanted to further his strength, the results of the Prince's subsequent experiments were of utmost importance to him!

"A day and a half ago, we learned that the target suddenly headed for Ferdinand Forest, which is a great opportunity. Otherwise, once he returns to the Imperial City, it'll be hard to make a move...," Buchanan began explaining in detail.

"I understand. Is the airship ready? I should set out now."

"Uh... Lord Bostaf, don't you want to rest a bit?"

"Check if my iron shoulder guard and leather armor have been repaired," Bostaf waved his hand and said to the attendant beside him.

Seeing this, Buchanan didn't try to dissuade him and immediately said:

"Alright then, by the way, Lord Bostaf, we have three elite Slave Capturing Teams in Ferdinand Forest, they'll handle the search tasks. You just need to deliver the Decisive Hammer at the critical moment!"

"Okay!"

With a nod, Bostaf took a syringe from a box beside him, and with a swift motion, injected it into his arm. As the crimson liquid flowed in, the blood in his eyes rapidly diminished.

....

Ferdinand Forest, Outpost No. 7.

Being able to attain the rank of Colonel, Ian naturally knew what could be said and what questions were best left unasked.

"Colonel Ian, sorry to disturb you," Rein glanced at the rank on the shoulder and smiled.

"Colonel Ian, this is Lord Rein from the Sword Holder Headquarters, and I'm Olena, a dedicated liaison for Lord Rein. The visit to Outpost No. 7 is top secret, and we hope Colonel Ian will ensure confidentiality."

Olena's sharp gaze swept over Ian and the two men behind him as she spoke.

As this was a special operation, Olena naturally refrained from introducing too much.

"Rest assured, Lady Olena. We are all soldiers of the Empire and understand the principles of confidentiality." Ian and the two men behind him nodded quickly.

"Lord Rein, Lady Olena, should you wish to rest for a bit, the rooms in the outpost are relatively basic, as they are converted from our barracks..."

Rein waved his hand and said, "Colonel Ian, no need to be formal; I won't be resting, though Olena and her team will be here for a few days."

Olena gave Rein a smile, then turned her head and said, "Colonel Ian, sorry for the trouble. We have accommodation on the airship, but the food will be a bit of a bother for you."

"Not at all, not at all!" Colonel Ian's heart skipped a beat as Olena smiled.

This young woman had charm! Competent and articulate—she could easily hold a civilian colonel position in the military, yet she was merely a liaison for this young man.

It seemed this young man was no ordinary individual!

Having reached the rank of Colonel, Ian naturally had a keen eye, but he couldn't quite discern the full extent of Lord Rein's power.

"Colonel Ian, has there been any new troop activity observed at the outpost recently?" Olena asked gravely.

Due to the latency in intelligence transmission from the headquarters because of distance, this individual should have some firsthand intel.

"Yes, if you'd like, feel free to come to my room for a more detailed report," Colonel Ian suggested after a brief consideration.

"Alright," Rein nodded.

...

Inside Colonel Ian's room.

Rein, Olena, and Ian sat facing each other across a tea table.

After pouring a cup of tea for Rein and Olena, Colonel Ian began to explain slowly:

"Lord Rein, Lady Olena, recently at Outpost No. 7, we've noted a number of teams entering Ferdinand Forest has increased several times compared to usual, and many of them don't seem to be the typical Slave Capturing Teams."

Rein nodded, signaling Ian to continue.

"In recent days, there have even been some teams that appeared to adopt an offensive stance against our outpost. However, after we fired a flare, they quickly vanished."

"Due to the apparent strength of these groups, we didn't dare to pursue them. I'm sure you understand, even though my team consists of elite soldiers, they can barely manage against the usual Slave Capturing Teams, but against these groups, it's definitely beyond our capability."
