Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1284: Title of Nobility

Although Bloodthirsty Vine is rare, it is not as complex as Thunder Wood or Shaoyang Grass. For example, Shaoyang Grass's essence lies in its Shaoyang energy, like the budding shoots of spring, full of vitality yet somewhat fragile. Therefore, in terms of extraction difficulty, Shaoyang Grass is much harder than Bloodthirsty Vine.

Moreover, during this extraction of Bloodthirsty Vine, Lin Tian didn't exert his full effort; he simply showed a bit of skill to gain Langde's trust, which already achieved his purpose.

"Mr. Lin, how about joining the Sinmore Clan?" As expected, Langde extended an olive branch to Lin Tian.

Lin Tian pretended to hesitate for a moment and said, "Elder Langde, I am just a wanderer and not a Westerner..."

Before Lin Tian could finish, Langde had already waved his hand, smiled, and said, "We Sinmore are different from those stubborn clans. Other Blood Clans have always prided themselves on nobility, staying closed off, but what's the use? The Blood Clan still survives in the darkness."

"Since its inception, Sinmore has pursued eternal life and power as its goal; everything else is illusory. Sinmore adheres to the Blood Clan Alliance's rules, but apart from that, we don't have as many rules as they do. Sinmore doesn't mind absorbing new members; wanderers they consider insignificant might be viewed by us as no different from any other Blood Clan."

"As long as wanderers have the skills, Sinmore welcomes them, and they will have a rightful place in Sinmore. Does this reassure you, Mr. Lin?" Langde said proudly, showing great disdain for the rigidity of other Blood Clan clans.

The Sword Spirit was indeed correct; this Sinmore Clan knows no taboos, daring to steal the blood of other clan elders in the past, and today, absorbing wanderers doesn't seem to be taboo either.

"Elder Langde, joining the Sinmore Clan is an honor for me." Lin Tian stated seriously.

"Hahaha, good!" Langde laughed heartily and said, "With Mr. Lin's skills, you naturally cannot remain my servant. Let's do this; I will grant you a title. This way, you will have some status in Sinmore."

A Blood Clan Elder's status in the clan ranks only below the Lord and Prince, and Langde has the authority to grant titles. Lin Tian was also intrigued by what title Elder Langde would bestow.

Titles that are too high seem to require the Elder Council's discussion to confer, such as Earl. Higher titles require the Lord's or Prince's consent, like Duke, so it seems only lower titles can be granted.

However, Lin Tian didn't care; infiltrating the Sinmore Clan is just a temporary measure, and once he finds Charlotte's whereabouts and obtains her blood, he will return to Huaxia. As for the Blood Clan title, he really doesn't care.

Langde gestured for Lin Tian to wait briefly, then turned and left. A few minutes later, he returned. He took a box out of his pocket and handed it to Lin Tian.

"Open it and take a look." Langde said.

Lin Tian looked inside and saw a badge, with an embossed design and several English letters in dark gold.

"This is the badge of the Baron title. Wearing it, you won't be troubled by many in Sinmore." Langde said.

Baron? Lin Tian thought indeed, Baron is the lowest title, but even the lowest is still a title, changing the nature entirely. Just like in the Medieval noble circle, only those with titles are recognized by others as true nobility.

"Thank you for the trust, elder." Lin Tian said, pretending.

"Butler, take them to settle down, and don't neglect Mr. Lin and his assistant, understand?" Langde nodded and instructed the old butler.

"Yes, elder." The butler replied respectfully.

"Elder, do you not need my help today?" Lin Tian glanced at the laboratory equipment, probing.

Lin Tian wasn't here to settle down. If he didn't work, how could he gather useful information?

"Mr. Lin, no need to rush. The laboratory still lacks a few materials; once everything is prepared tomorrow, we can refine without delay." Langde said with a smile.

So the materials were not enough yet, Lin Tian nodded in acknowledgment, took leave of Langde, and walked out of the laboratory with the old butler.

As soon as they passed through the door, the castle guards, upon seeing Lin Tian, suddenly stood upright, raised heads, and said, "Greetings, Baron."

The Baron badge was worn on the chest, and once the guards and servants saw it, they immediately saluted, paying respect. Lin Tian walked in without looking, acting dignified.

In a place like the Blood Clan, the hierarchy is very strict. Even if you act cold and arrogant, it is normal; no one feels it's out of place. High-level Blood Clans being polite to low-level ones would be abnormal.

"Mr. Lin, your assistant's room is on the first floor, yours is on the second. I will arrange for servants to attend to you shortly, feel free to command." In the castle hall, the butler pointed to the first floor, then to the second floor, speaking respectfully.

Lin Tian, of course, understood his meaning; Rossi, being an assistant, was not qualified to stay upstairs, staying in the castle was likely on his behalf.

He nodded to Rossi, who nodded in understanding and turned alone to her room.

Lin Tian continued up the stairs with the old butler leading the way. At the end of the stairs was the corridor on the second floor, where the butler opened the first room in the corridor.

"Mr. Lin, I shall take my leave now. If you need anything, feel free to instruct the servants." The old butler reminded once more before turning to leave.

Lin Tian walked into the room, which was spacious, with an impressive fireplace, lavish chandelier, soft carpet, and a large palace-style bed, all present.

Despite the castle hall's simple setup, the bedroom was a different scene. The Blood Clan indeed knew how to enjoy life, everything was done for comfort.

"Knock, knock, knock…" A rhythmic knocking sounded, and Lin Tian turned to see two women standing outside the door.

Both women were Europeans, one with long curly golden hair, the other with long black hair, both with charming faces, long legs, ample bosoms, and peculiarly wearing red maid dresses, black stockings on their legs. They both looked very young, about in their twenties, but in the Blood Clan's territory, how old they appear is uncertain to anyone but themselves.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Lin Tian asked curiously.

After spending a whole day in the castle, it was his first time seeing female vampires; previously, he thought the castle was full of men.

The blonde woman bowed and said, "Baron, I am Nasha, and she is Nolan. We are both your servants."

Servants? Maids? Lin Tian's mind automatically conjured images from certain romance action films. Back when he worked as a security guard at the mall, colleagues often brought such films to watch, especially the maid series.

Young, beautiful, sexy maids in uniforms and stockings, compliant with every command—after all, every man's heart likely harbors a maid fantasy.
