Charlotte smiled faintly, turned to Lin Tian, "Pervert, you two catch up, talk about old times, I'm leaving."

She then started to walk out of the room. Zhang Lingyu on the sofa quickly jumped up and shouted, "Hey, you take him out, I don't know him!"

Unfortunately, Charlotte ignored her and walked straight out, shutting the door with a bang, leaving only Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu in the living room.

The two stared at each other bewilderedly, Lin Tian angry at her calling him a pervert, as for Zhang Lingyu, she seemed frustrated.

"You're crazy!"

Both of them shouted at each other at the same time, then both paused in surprise. Zhang Lingyu's expression fell, and she sat back on the sofa deflated, looking completely different from her lazy demeanor earlier.

"Didn't I tell you not to come? Why won't you listen?" Zhang Lingyu stood up again, glaring at Lin Tian.

"You can recognize me, and you called me a pervert, do you have a death wish?" Lin Tian glared back.

Zhang Lingyu gave him a look, still huffing with anger, "I pretended not to know you so you'd leave. Don't you realize how dangerous it is here? Where's your usual cleverness?"

"I knew you were pretending," Lin Tian smiled slightly.

"You knew and still didn't leave, wasting my expressions!" Zhang Lingyu was even angrier, almost wanting to smack Lin Tian on the head.

"Because I know it's dangerous, I can't leave you here alone," Lin Tian stepped closer to Zhang Lingyu, his gaze gentle, and spoke softly, "You know? I don't want the next place I rescue you from to be in the Netherworld, we won't be lucky every time, I wish for your safe and soundness."

Seeing Lin Tian's gentle and focused gaze, Zhang Lingyu's heartbeat involuntarily quickened, as if a little deer was jumping wildly in her heart, and a faint blush crept onto her pretty face.

She couldn't withstand Lin Tian's gaze and took two steps back, though the anger she had earlier had dissipated completely. Her tone softened significantly, "You shouldn't have come. Even with the White Tiger Seal, I may not be able to get out of this place."

"I know, there's a barrier in the underground space here even more formidable than the Blood-colored Barrier," Lin Tian asserted.

"How do you know? No, why did you come down here if you knew? I've been studying this barrier for a long time and concluded it might even be an Ancient Barrier!" Zhang Lingyu almost got angry again, her face full of confusion as she looked at Lin Tian.

Lin Tian didn't mind her being angry, because he knew the little girl was worried. He surveyed the surroundings before saying, "Actually, I came not just to rescue you or to get Charlotte's blood, but because I sensed the presence of a zombie in the barrier underground."

"The presence of a zombie? How come I didn't sense it?" Zhang Lingyu was shocked for a moment, frowning. It was quite surprising for a Demon Exterminating Master like her to not detect the presence of a zombie.

Lin Tian thought for a moment and said, "It's a very peculiar aura, very subtle. If I hadn't been careless, it would have triggered my internal zombie power, revealing my true form. As you said, this is likely an Ancient Barrier, hence the owner of this zombie aura is not ordinary, undoubtedly a higher rank than me."

"You intend to investigate the source of this zombie aura?" Zhang Lingyu understood Lin Tian's intent.

Being able to talk calmly with a Demon Exterminating Master about zombies felt strange to Lin Tian, "We two sitting down calmly and chatting is quite a miracle, isn't it?"

Zhang Lingyu did not respond to this topic, instead asking, "Your purple flames are from Nu Ba's lineage, right? Nu Ba has been gone for thousands of years, who bit you?"

"It should've been Nu Ba herself," Lin Tian confirmed.

"What! You say it was Nu Ba?" Zhang Lingyu exclaimed.

She had never asked who bit Lin Tian, or rather, she never had the chance to. Previously, they were either sneaking into the Netherworld to save someone or separating after a big battle, and then she got captured by Charlotte.

Zhang Lingyu never imagined the zombie that bit Lin Tian would be Nu Ba, the Zombie Ancestor who disappeared thousands of years ago. The emergence of a Zombie Ancestor is an event of enormous significance to the entire Demon Exorcism World, with impacts and shocks no less than that of a planet collision with Earth.

A single ordinary zombie could cause massive chaos, let alone a Zombie Ancestor!
